It's rare to step into a restaurant before the doors open, an almost behind-the-scenes experience…read more You get to see what makes people tick and who they really are. In the restaurant business, we all have a switch: once the doors open, it flips. Until then, you're seeing people exactly as they are. This team is genuine. Hands down. Yes, I know, I'm technically here for a king cake. Standing in line for a king cake from a famous fried chicken company almost feels satirical. But watching the entire team sit down together for a meal an hour before service told me everything I needed to know about the leadership and the values of this company. People matter here. You can see why the sandwiches are as good as they are. You can feel why the king cake is worth the wait. This team operates like a family; kind to one another, intentional, and connected. The food is made with care because the people are cared for. I'm not here to review the food (which is phenomenal) or the king cake. I'm here to review the brand. This is the kind of business we should be proud to support as a community. Keep it up.

I also like that they feature a daily special that isn't on the regular menu--it adds a nice element of variety. Everything is cooked to order, which is definitely a plus. Just keep in mind that most of the menu is fried, so this isn't the place to go if you're looking for a particularly healthy meal.

Started off with the "best fried pickles anywhere" by the self proclaimed connoisseur of fried pickles. Ok, those are quite tasty especially with the remoulade sauce. Next to the wings. I go for the smoked wings with Caribbean jerk. These were good, not my fav. Friend got the texas bbq, those were quite a bit better. Next time I'll do that or the Cajun. Maybe the spicy garlic if I'm feeling a bit "HOT BABY"! Interesting the Caribbean jerk is t hot - have you not had Caribbean food? I was thinking Bimini goat pepper ! No,idea if that wide eyed emoji will go through..... next to the wait staff. Our waitress did a fantastic job. No, not that reason... :/. My friends son is special needs and wanted to order. Waitress listened and got the orders right. Well done! Yup, definitely a place I'd visit again - and bring the wife - it really is family friendly - and no ladies, you won't be the only one in there! In the end, my main suggestion - bring in a few more local brews!

The wings had gotten ridiculously small - even smaller than wings from Rally's, and they barely had any sauce - despite asking for extra wet. Wings got smaller, but the price didn't. Never again. It's too bad that this location is independently owned, because they deserve to go bankrupt with the rest of the chain. Perhaps, if this type of fuckery continues - they will.

Chi-Chi's Chicken and Beer is somewhat of a misnomer. While the name is technically correct, they…read moreonly have about 5 beers or so and only 1 on tap. That's like calling my home "The House of Money" because you found some change in the couch cushions. I will say at least they have the GOAT of beers, Ghost in the Machine on bottle. I ordered 6 of the soy garlic wings and 6 of the Gochujang wings. The soy garlic was mild in flavor and I'm not talking spice, think more like subtle. The Gochujang were full of flavor. Sweet, Spicy, Savory.....delicious! The wings were like a fancy, well-aged bottle of high proof bourbon, complex and layered. That may seem like a strange comparison, but it works for me. I also got a free order of shoestring french fries since it was happy hour. They were nice and crisp. Chi-Chi's is very small. 4-6 seats at the bar and only a few tables. I assume they cater more to the takeout crowd. The servers were really friendly, and everything came out fast and hot. The wings were a little pricy in my opinion, but I would get the Gochujang wings again but only if it's happy hour. Also just change the name to Chi Chi's Chicken.

The chicken was soggy and the breading was doughy and heavy without any of the signature crunch that you expect from Korean Fried Chicken. Cucumber salad was unbalanced. Fries were surprisingly fine, but came out a solid 25 minutes before the chicken rather than being timed with the chicken. The flavors were one note and lacking any complexity or nuance. The place itself is extremely aesthetically pleasing. Service was fine. Soda is in a can. This place is another example of catering to frat boys and jumping on the appropriation of Korean culture being trendy without any real understanding or appreciation of culture or culinary techniques. Definitely skip and go all the way to Houston for actual Korean fried chicken.

I ordered the shrimp pho and was pleasantly surprised. The broth was light but still packed with flavor. It didn't feel heavy, but it still hit the spot. They were generous with the shrimp. They were a good size and there were plenty of them. I left full and satisfied. The space itself is cute and tucked into a tiny strip mall, nothing over the top but still a nice vibe for a casual meal. Service was excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The only downside was that they were out of quite a few items. The staff mentioned it was because we came on the later side of the early evening (around 4 pm), which felt a little early to be running low, but not a dealbreaker. Overall, a solid find and I'll return the next time I'm in town.
