Visited this place with girlfriends on a Saturday evening. Crowd was light fog a big game day but we need some good drinks and the reviews lead us in. Happy hour on a Saturday is difficult to find in DC so think place is on the right track. Only issue is the happy hour listed is not what's offered.... not sure why? We went with what was on special .... the lime margaritas for 4 bucks. ( not bad) I wish they had wing specials during happy hour! After multiple drinks, we decided to order a round of wings and dogs. The wings came out very greasy and not crispy at all. I asked for them to be fried hard. I ordered lemon pepper and Overall flavor was good. They have a good variety of hot dog options....very creative in the presentation of the dogs! Not sure this is my favorite but if looking to watch the game in a clean sports bar for drinks this could be a good spot. read more

This is my go-to place for wings. I have been ordering wings from Wingo's since the beginning of freshmen year of college! That's two years now! Must try the garlic Parmesan wings. They are amazing. I love how much you can customize your order on their website. You can specify if you want your wings crispy, more or less sauce, what type of wings (drums, flats...). Nonetheless, my boyfriend orders the crazy burger and he always says how great it is. French friends are delicious as well and they give you a lot. I do not understand why this place has good reviews. My waiter recommended the fries as well as the baked mac and cheese. We got both. Both were terrible. I think I've had better fries out of the freezer section of the grocery store. They were barely cooked and not even hot. Baked mac and cheese was no better. It had basically no taste. Wings were okay. We got mango habanero as well as the hot bbq. I would say hot bbq was better in my opinion. The mango habanero wasn't as good as other mango habanero wings I have had. The wings themselves were okay. They had no crunch or anything but they weren't terrible. Still, I wouldn't eat them again. I can make better chicken wings at home. Potato skins were not great. Again, had a very plain taste and were not even hot. Hot dog was my favorite part, not that it was a high bar. We got the Chicago dog and the hot dog itself was good quality. I also enjoyed the bread it came on. I would never go back. I feel terrible after eating there. I have no idea what these other people are talking about in their 5 star reviews. I've been craving wings for while now, this evening I ordered 20 wigs. 10 Habanero and 10 lemon peppers. I was very disappointed on the quality of wigs sauce witch is the best part to me of wings. The wigs had no flavor what's so ever: no spice: even tho I order hot habanero now I wonder how the rest of the flavors might taste. This was my second time visiting Wingo's. This time I went to catch the Army Navy football game. It wasn't crowded. I was able to grab a table in front of the tv. Service was great! Had heard rave reviews for this wing spot and knew I had to try since I feel like I don't have a go-to wing joint.... Well I def do now. This was absolutely fire flames. We got 30 wings - 10 each flavor - lemon pepper, garlic parm, and abusive. The lemon pepper... lord have mercy! I'm salivating just thinking about it. The garlic parm too.. these flavors were both more of "dry rubs" and because of that the wings stayed so crispy, even with delivery! The space is great and the set up good for just casually watching a game or hunkering down. I had a Miller Lite draft that seemed like in the familiar price range. I also got the chili, which is why I am not giving it more stars at the moment. I'd rethink that recipe which was overly viscous and had a weird, off-putting sweetness to it. I have to give a big shout out to this restaurant and the owner Mike. I found out about it on Yelp researching the best place to get chicken with DC's famous mumbo sauce. When we got there, they had just run out, but Mike seeing my disappointment, pulled together a small sample gratis. We also ordered the chicken with waffles and the Cali Wrap. All were truly outstanding. Then as if that wasn't enough, when he learned I was in town for Eric's Birthday, he told us to wait a minute as we were getting ready to leave and surprised us with a lit cake slice and his team singing Happy Birthday . Just ordered wings, fries, corn on the cob and a shake for delivery via grubhub. The fries were cold and cardboard like, could not be eaten. The milkshake had a load of condensation and was in a watery sad state. I do not recommend getting temperature-sensitive items here. The best chicken wings in the District (parmesan cheese is our favorite) We used to order delivery when we lived at our old apartment. When we moved to our condo, we became out of their delivery range. I am glad they opened a bigger location, now, we can always go knowing we have a space to dine in. The beignets are to die for too! The lemon pepper literally taste like buttered popcorn and the bbq taste watered down.
