After getting checked in at the hotel and unpacked in the hotel room, I ended up looking on UberEats for restaurants in the area. Byrd's Hot Chicken was one of the first restaurants that popped up on the application! Byrd's Hot Chicken's menu consists of lots of chicken! You can order a chicken sandwich, the Byrd Bowl (diced chicken tender, cheese, slaw etc..), Tenders, French Fries, Mac N Cheese, Cake Shake, Chicken Nuggets, and so much more! I ended up ordering the following from Byrd's Hot Chicken [2] Chicken sandwiches: Plain, with pickles and cheese. Mac N Cheese Side The UberEats order took about 30 minutes. The meal was still hot and the chicken was super crispy when it arrived at the hotel! I opened up the bag and couldn't believe how much Mac N Cheese was in the container! There was so much! The Mac N Cheese was delicious!! It was perfectly seasoned and loaded with cheese! The chicken sandwiches were my favorite though! The chicken was juicy and tender. The breading on the chicken was so crispy and yummy! The pickles and cheese was a good addition to the chicken sandwich! This was one of my favorite chicken sandwiches that I've had in a long time! I might have to come back here one more time before I fly back to Las Vegas!

Also the fried gnocchi bites, which were completely soft on the outside so no crunchy "fried" aspect and tasted like cheese more than gnocchi. And lastly, the elote dip... this was not like any elote I've ever had. A mix of veggies in a creamy (wet) mayo based sauce. It wasn't too bad except the avocados were hard as a rock. Totally inedible. The kitchen remade the dip for us, but they were still pretty hard- just cut into smaller pieces. The tortilla chips served with it were stale, too. I love visiting this area and was excited to try someplace new. Sadly the best thing I can say is that the place has lots of screens to watch the game. I won't be back.

The order area is nice and the electric menu boards are easy to read. We ordered the 10 piece bone-in chicken wings, in buffalo sauce. We were hoping that they had blue cheese as a dipping sauce but they don't. So we picked the ranch dipping sauce and it was just OK. When I first saw the chicken wings I thought they were gonna be crispy, but they're actually not. They are very moist and cooked to perfection. We ordered cheese sticks and they were eight in the order and they were delicious. Nice and crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. We also ordered two of the bubble tea. I got the Taro milk tea and my husband got the banana milk tea. They both had the tapioca in them and were so delicious! Best I have had! Really cold and yummy! I hope they take better care of their food preparation than the tables. And this has not changed since I first started coming to the restaurant about 2 months ago. Standout was the red, white, and blues which is that famous medium Buffalo combined with bleu cheese all tossed on the wings. The wing meat was 7/10 but the tenders 10/10. Again, I'm not much of a "Sauce guy" - I like food that lets go of me once I've eaten it! Dry Rub rules! The prices are fair, especially for fresh bird. I wish they offered Breakfast Burritos (now that G&G has abandoned us) - I'd stop a couple times a week. No indoor dining area... that's why I carry paper towels in the truck. This Wingstop location in Oakbrook Terrace (Roosevelt Rd) is honestly just mid. Nothing fancy,…read morenothing unique -- if you're craving Wingstop, you're probably better off visiting another location, especially if you have dietary restrictions like Halal. As someone who eats Halal, I appreciate that they offer it here, but it's only available for bone-in wings. You can place your order online, but then you have to call them separately to let them know it needs to be Halal -- which feels pretty inefficient. They do take the extra time to keep it clean and prep it properly, which I respect, but it usually takes an extra 20 minutes or more, so plan ahead if you're going that route. The wings themselves are solid -- nothing bad, just not outstanding. I will say the Mango Habanero is definitely a favorite -- great flavor with a nice kick. The other flavors are just okay, but if you're not big on spice, I'd recommend asking for extra ranch or blue cheese to cool it down. That really helps. The inside of the place is very average -- nothing to write home about, but it's clean and there's a good amount of seating. I've been here with a group of friends and we had a good time. It wasn't anything super memorable, but it's a chill spot to hang out, eat wings, and relax. I also noticed the Halal option costs a bit more, which makes the value feel a little off, especially considering the extra time and effort required to get it. Overall, it's not a bad place -- just not one I'd go out of my way for unless I needed Halal wings and had some time to spare.
