I was back again with my coworkers for lunch. The huge crowd has died down. The customer hasn't change. They were great. They were fast. I ordered a number 2. Two sliders and fries. There were pickles on the sandwich as well as the tray. They were delicious. The only thing I noticed today was some of the tables needed to be clean. There was more cleaning when they had lines out the doors. For some strange reason they didn't have any ice. That was disappointing. Overall I like my food. For my spice level I chose medium. This was good for me. Although I could have gotten hotter.

It was like a fast food joint but with huge range of food choices. Not sure how they keep so much stuff in stock. I ordered fried chicken and it was made to order. My husband ordered a burger and it didn't come with any sides so he had to order fries separately. There I Was really not a lot of service to speak of other than they cooked the food. The first day, I had the burnt ends, brisket, cornbread, and beans. Everything was delicious, but the clear standout for me was the burnt ends. They were, without a doubt, the best burnt ends I have ever had. Ever. It was so good that I had to come back the following day to try more of their food, and I am so glad I did. This time, I had the smoked prime rib plate. Hands down, the best prime rib I have ever had in my life. It practically melts in your mouth. On top of the incredible food, the service is fantastic. Everybody there was super friendly and personable. If I lived nearby--I'm currently in the area for business from out of state--I would absolutely make this a regular destination whenever I wanted a great meal. The restaurant itself is cozy, clean, and just a great experience overall. I wish I could give you guys ten stars.

It was on the leaner side, but I didn't specifically ask for a fattier cut. The sides were very good as well. I went with the potato salad and vinegar coleslaw. The biggest disappointment was the burnt ends, which were much drier than I expected. They didn't really have the tenderness I usually look for. I'd probably skip those next time, stick with the brisket, and try a different meat. Overall, I enjoyed the meal and I'd come back to try more of the menu.

We chose Salt + Smoke because it was nearby and usually BBQ is pretty doable for her. When we got to our table, we were both amazed that Salt + Smoke has a FULL allergen-friendly menu, not only gluten like many places will have nowadays. And our server was super patient and understanding of our needs as well. GF was able to easily select an entree and sides that she could safely enjoy, including the amazing deviled eggs. When our entrees came out, they were amazing also -- I highly recommend the brisket grilled cheese and the popovers. We both had plenty of leftovers for another meal too. Finally, the space inside the restaurant is really well done: very modern and open, but comfortable as well. We were in there the day that Dolly Parton passed away also and they were playing many of her hits over the sound system, which was a nice gesture.

Anyone that's ever won something in a team setting knows how hard it is for a team to mesh, play together, learn from one another, etc. It's not something that's done over night. It happens in the offseason, during two-a-days, and at 6pm during the evening rush on a Friday night. I'm not saying salt + smoke couldn't win a championship right now. They have the makings of a great team. They just haven't learned to play together. Ribs falling off the bone, that's your quarterback. You want a guy that will take a swing on a deep ball without barbecue sauce. Fatty brisket, that's your left tackle. You expect them to be the saving grace of a meal through consistency and flavor. But don't forget how important coaching is. You can't just have talented players. You need more salt and less smoke. It's called accountability. Now I say this all to say that my 1.5 year old toddler ate more food than she'd eaten the last week. As a dad, if she's happy, I'm happy. So, I'd recommend to any family. But as a yelp elitist, I'd wait a little longer for the team to become championship caliber.

Ordered the 8 piece meal which came with fries (almost like seasoned breaded wedges from KFCs old menu), a roll, and a bottled soft drink of choice. You can try 2 different sauces on the 8 piece meal and I went with 1/2 Hot wings and 1/2 original (fried). The original wings were way too salty for me but the Hot wings were pretty good. Also, the wings were tiny, almost so small where maybe we should have received 10 instead of 8. I was super glad they weren't those gigantic turkey wings sized chicken wings though!!
