Regular Street Corn
Michelle S.

We ordered Door Dash so I can't comment on the ambiance or service; but the food we ordered was really good. The coleslaw was made with fresh crunchy cabbage and carrots and creamy Mayo had pretty good flavor. The street corn, sounds really odd but was full of flavor. The chicken mini with awesome sauce was surprisingly delightful albeit a bit messy. The boneless wings were surprisingly large, lightly coated, and fried perfectly with a slight crunch on the outside and moist on the inside. The honey BBQ is sauce pretty standard. The ranch dipping sauce is that nice runny ranch with dill however it is an extra change (I feel like you should get one dipping sauce included with your wings). Rounding out the meal is the corn bread - it is slightly sweet and if you heat it up and add some better, it's delicious!

French fries and chicken wings with sauce are served on a metal tray lined with paper, placed on a dark table. The background includes a cup with a holiday design, a cup with a penguin illustration, and various snack wrappers. The setting appears to be a casual restaurant or fast-food establishment with a relaxed atmosphere.

There are a lot of chicken shops that have popped up around Dearborn in the last couple years. I was excited to try Wing Snob - the name makes it sound like they know what they're doing and they might be better than average. Sadly, that was not my experience. We tried the chicken tenders with lemon pepper sauce and teriyaki, as well as bone-in and boneless wings in Buffalo Parmesan and Jamaican Jerk. My favorite of the four sauces was the lemon pepper, but all the others tasted like lesser variations of sauces from the wing place just down the block. Plus they charge over $1 for extra sauces or even ranch or blue cheese dressing to go with Buffalo wings. Sadly, the taste of the chicken itself was not the best. The chicken tenders on their own were less good than the average, not a lot of flavor on their own, plus the big hunks of chicken makes them difficult to bite into without getting a piping hot giant chunk of chicken sliding out of the fried coating. For the wings, I'd recommend the boneless because you get more meat for your money. Unfortunately, neither the ambiance or the service could persuade me to try it again anytime soon. The restaurant was dark and very unappealing. And they couldn't even apply points or rewards from their own app. Sorry, Wing Snob, you're going to have to try harder in the land of chicken shops.

The inside of Dearborn wing snob on michigan ave - Inside Wing Snob restaurant, the image shows a seating area with multiple tables and metal chairs arranged near large windows. The decor includes a dark wall with large text reading "WE JUST HAVE BETTER WINGS" and other phrases. Pendant lights hang from the ceiling, and a TV is mounted on a wall displaying an ordering screen. The space has an industrial style with exposed ductwork and modern lighting fixtures.

I can't believe the place is still here after all of these years. There are 2 types of subs here: Italian, and "Other Subs", so you know that this shop sprang from the vibrant Italian community that once populated Detroit. The Italian Subs at Gonella's are ordered according to how many layers it builds up (which I think is a unique concept). These layered Gonella Italian Subs are layered with a variety of Italian meats (Hard Salami, Salami Cotto, Mortadella, Smoked Ham and Capicola), provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions & Gonella's homemade dressing. Soft or hard roll. Extras: Peppers (+.50) Cheese (+.50) - (Turkey is reserved for the "Other Subs). 6 Layers Meat, 1 Layer Cheese --- $8 8 Layers Meat, 2 Layer Cheese --- $9 12 Layers Meat, 2 Layer Cheese --- $12 14 Layers Meat, 3 Layer Cheese --- $13 18 Layers Meat, 3 Layer Cheese --- $14 The subs are heavy and delicious. Soft sub buns, tons of stacks of meat, lettuce and tomato or not. No one goes hungry after a sub here. Some deli spots tend to skimp on the protein, but not this place. My team members favorite is the Italian, 6 stacks. I usually will go for a turkey or chicken stack. They offer up to 18 stacks, haven't tried that yet.

The Ontario sandwich is quite possibly the best sandwich I've ever had (in recent memory)! I am so glad I accidentally wandered into this spot. I was visiting the Arab American National Museum down the street and wanted to grab a quick bite and I didn't want McDonald's or Burger King. I thought...hmm a sandwich shop. Let's just grab a quick bite. I didn't know what to order so I ordered the Ontario and an iced caramel latte. Once the sandwich came out I thought," Hmm looks good." Then I took a single bite and OMG. The toasted crunch, the chipotle sauce, the perfectly sou vided chicken breast, and melted cheese...it was just an explosion of favor! The French fries were perfectly done and had a good crisp. The spot is quiet and comfortable. I could see myself coming back to enjoy a slow afternoon while eating a godly sandwich.

Service was prompt and friendly. It's tight inside, this is not the place to come with a big group- but a few friends or your family? Absolutely! Perfect. 4 stars because I just feel like the Reuben could have used a bit more flavor somehow. It was a little dry today. The bread was good, the meat was lean and thinly sliced, but I think we needed more punch from the sauerkraut and dressing. Still, will come back many times for years to come! Their sandwiches are crazy-expensive, especially for the quality of the turkey. It was the slimy, smooth kind, not the more dry, you-can-see-the-grain-and-taste-the-quality kind. I got turkey and cheddar and it was $15, plus adding a drink and chips was $3 more. Hubband got the turkey and ham sandwich and said the ham was excellent but had the same gripe about the low quality turkey as me. Are they big, yes? Would I rather have less meat but it be much higher quality for the same price? Also yes. Decor hasn't changed in the almost 15 years since I visited. It's clean enough but still incredibly over-crowded with too many tables and chairs. Service was friendly. Honestly, this is just so underwhelming that I'm incredibly surprised that people are excited to drop $15 on a mediocre sandwich. I'm missing something (it must be nostalgia because I didn't grow up here.)

Grabbed some lunch for my team: Chicken bacon ranch no lettuce or tomato, a large Lebanese salad (no pita), Turkey Reuben sandwich, Chicken melt, Bronx and a can of Mountain Dew and one can of Coke. Oh my. Their Chicken melt menu that someone posted on here changed from what someone else had posted a while back. Their current chicken melt is essentially a chicken Philly. It wasn't what my team member wanted, had to give it to someone else, since it had mushrooms in it. The Lebanese salad was good, the large is a good size. Loaded with tomatoes and cukes. Ended up with bits of pita at the bottom of my salad, had to pick them out. :/ The chicken bacon ranch was nicely packed with meat in a sub bun. The Bronx was good as well. The turkey Rueben was okay. Light on the kraut and sauce. The turkey meat was deli slices though. The bread was maybe separately toasted. It was pan or cook top cooked. The rye was a bit too hard as I tried to get a bite in. I ended up having to gut it and eat the inside goods separately. Oven roasted turkey would have been fantastic, more kraut or add slaw too. Salad was good and fresh. The sandwiches look picture worthy.
