During the NC Covid BS lock down, we took the time to drive down from Charlotte and it was so worth it. We sat outside under and umbrella and enjoyed some great wings. I just love smaller wings that are cooked to perfection. I do not like larger wings, as the meat tends to be on the pinker side. I like my wing meat white, which is hard to do with larger wings, just my preference. The sauces were excellent. XXX is really not that spicy, on the hotter side, but not outrageous. The Teriyaki is very good, not to sweet with a great flavor. I would recommend staying away from the dry rubs, I did not think they had much flavor and sent those back to be re-tossed in sauce. Wing flavor is excellent, but chicken wings were chewy and overcooked. Fries were ok. The staff does not wear masks, nor do they require customers to wear them. We used to really enjoy Wing King near downtown Fort Mill. Our last experience, not so much. For a family of four we had the fried pickles appetizer, two kids meals, shared a 15 wing combo, and ordered two draft beers - The total Bill was $80!!!! They range in heat, sweet, tangy, spicy , salty and garlicky. My favorite are the honey hot. We've always accompanied our order with some onion rings or deep fried pickles. Maybe even both. Let me just say that any combination of the above is quite the grease party. Not to say there aren't healthier options, there are. We just don't ever get any of them here. What's the point? It's Wing King, am I right? But if you're the healthy one in the bunch, there's something for you. You can get get grilled strips (why???) or a salad (hehe.) Actually, the salads are ok. But, the dressings are VERY good! If you're a fan of he creamy styles like blue cheese and ranch, you will not be disappointed!! I have had all good experiences dining here. I only had one not so bueno moment when I picked up and order of regular strips with blue cheese but was given the grilled strips with ranch. It was not what I wanted. Cool spot in a nondescript shopping center. Wings are absolutely great! Crispy and above average size but the sauce is what makes it. We only tried medium and hot (they don't have mild) and both were excellent. They don't skimp on the sauce which is nice and that a good thing because you'll want to get as much as possible. Due to covid we requested take out over the phone pulled up paid and were served right at the curbside pick up lane. We'll be back to try other flavors for sure. read more

Seems in the last few months though the quality of the meat has taken a noticeable downturn. The wings are often tough and chewy, sometime inedible. I'm not a wing connoisseur, but having been to Wild Wing Cafe a few times and Buffalo Wild Wings once, I can easily rate this as the worst. We live close by and don't have many options here, so they must be relying on their geographical monopoly to continue their reign of pedestrian cuisine. This last visit, my wife brought our daughter in for a little "date". There was a sign saying "seat yourself", so they did. Eventually someone a bit confused came and waited on them, seeming to be surprised that they would want menus, drinks, and food. The wings that were ordered were burnt. Like one whole side was completely black. So the clever cook turned the black side over when he plated it. Like "yeah, they'll never notice they're eating charcoal, teeheehee". (That may also be why the place is so dark inside). My daughter, who likes strong ginger tea, would not eat her ginger wings. She actually coughed. Their idea of a ginger wing is to put generous amounts of powdered ginger on a wing. It should also be noted that my daughter is an eating enthusiast and will hardly refuse anything. This is why I find it so remarkable. The other two times were better experiences, but really just "meh". My wife is too shy and polite to complain. Our money was wasted by going here. Finally had a chance to try this highly recommended restaurant. We did a call-in order, drove up and was served immediately. Employee was pleasant and pleasant. Food was delicious, we had the fried string beans. Ordered the full basket which was more than enough. Our only complaint was the 5% "service charge"; which was a surprise. read more

Eh? Not awful. Not sure where the big complaint about service on here is coming from. That's the whole reason there are 2 stars. The food is just okay. If you don't mind dirty fryer oil and tasting what you ordered for 3 days, then this may not apply. The food came out fairly quickly. The sauces are truly just okay and the grease level is to the moon. The only knock on the service is that the server wasn't able to make any recommendations and took the order counter style. There wasn't any smile or extra service. The reason I rated the service so highly is because the staff worked so well together that there was never an empty drink and we were checked in on by 3 different people. Some coworkers and I ordered some wings to go over the phone before we got there and planned to order our drinks and salads once we arrived (we only have a 30 minute lunch break). We ordered the salads and drinks once we arrived and picked up our to go orders. As we are sitting down eating our lunch, the woman from the takeout counter, not our waitress, comes over and tells us that we cannot eat the wings inside of the establishment because we originally ordered them to go.
