I hate getting my mail from Winfield. If I have a box they leave it in the weather by a gate close to the highway. Today a pickup slip was left in the box when my husband was in the yard watching him deliver the mail. What is wrong with these lazy people? read more

Why is there no direct number to this post office? What kind of garbage is this? You call a one 800 number and it takes an hour to call back. This is absolutely ridiculous. Taxpayer money at work great. read more

Update 2/2020 Yet another "delivered package" that I will need to go do battle with this nIT-wits on. (Just how j want to spend My Day of) Just how difficult is it to REAd the label????? I ALSO never received a Holiday Card from a relative with a gift card in it!!! THE WORST- wish there were options. Terrible service. I absolutely CRINGE when I see that UPS hands over a package to them. Carrier is WAY too busy to deliver packages to the correct address as she is constantly on her phone with a Bluetooth headset I have been in to talk to the postmaster with NO call back as promised and even error than on he last survey and no one follows up??? 2 of my last 4 Ebay purchases have not arrived.... Just spent 15 min in line as 2 ppl couldn't get printer to work with a line of customers. They changed the paper 3 times as we stood there waiting instead of opening another computer to get people out. Obviously it wasnt the paper so i asked said i needed to go and didnt need receipt. Yet still waiting as printer was being looked at. Someone took my package (mind u all i needed was to buy big envelope) and then told me that i needed to tape on my return form. I looked at the guy and the tape next to him asking if he could tape it because i have no tape. Nor is there tape for customers to use if they needed. I was not the only one annoyed at this- my package was taken and i was given a have printed receipt (again didn't care about getting) and was told " your choice." Umm my choice was i don't care about the receipt and i just wanted to pay for envelope and leave. I totally get having issues with computer and printer but, acknowledge ur customers and maybe open another computer before u have others annoyed read more

A package I ordered online was mis-addressed and 3 attempts were made to the same address - ACROSS the STREET. I have lived here in this small town 30 years. Would someone at the post office take a moment to look me up before they send it back to sender? No, rather keep going to the same address accross the street two more times. Also, I recently brought a letter in and asked if it would be delivered the next day to an adjoining town. "99% yes" was the answer. NOT! Thumbs down. Many disappointments in 30 years. read more

My only issue is with one particular mail carrier that delivers on Churchill Rd. (East of County Farm Rd.) Whenever a package is delivered it is tossed onto our porch. This particular mail carrier is always on a Bluetooth headset talking on the phone. Also, we have had packages jammed into our mailbox, not only ruining the package but also the rest of the mail inside. read more

I live in town houses right by Central DuPage Hospital it would be nice if the mail carrier could actually give me my mail. I still get mail for people that lived there two years before me And I get everyone else's mail except my own so I wonder where all mine goes. I also just moved I filled out the paperwork to have my mail forwarded and the people that bought my townhouse are calling me telling me that they're getting my mail so something needs to be fixed at this post office it's a hot mess. read more

I've had it at this post office to send anything in a timely manner. I brought in an envelope that that to be delivered to CDH right across the street. The lab at the hospital needed it in 3 days for testing. Over a week later, I find out the hospital never received it!! I was furious. I now have to do this test over again. I will deliver to the hospital my self. I also sent out a 1099 to an individual and that was never received either. I will never send anything from here again. They are polite inside at the counter but that's about it. read more

This place blows. I ship a lot of packages because I sell on ebay. Most are books, so the packaging is very small and less than 1lb. I weigh, pay for and print the shipping labels at home, and stick them on the package before heading off to the PO. First time I went to this fine establishment, the lady I gave my package to and told her it was already paid for and labeled (it was obvious just looking at the package). She just needed to drop into into the "Outgoing" bin. That's it. Nope. She tells me to wait and puts it on the scale. Then she looks at me. She scans the barcode on the label. Then she looks at me again. She types a bunch of stuff on her computer. And she looks at me some more. I'm not talking about a "You're a hot stallion & I have a crush on you" look. Nope, we're talking about "Either you didn't pay enough for this or you're a terrorist." Finally, with much reluctance, she tells me it's okay. I'm pulling my hair out because my package WAS ALREADY WEIGHED AND PAID FOR!!!! Just throw it in the damned "Outgoing" bin and be done with it!!! Today I made another trip here (I'm a glutton for punishment) to drop off another small package. I give it to the guy behind the counter, I tell him it's already paid for, he looks at it and gives me a dirty look, as if to say: "You SOB. I work on commission. You just took money out of my pocket and food out of my kid's mouth." Do postal workers work on commission? Because that's how some of them act when I drop off a pre-paid package. I should qualify all this by saying I've never bought postage here or had any interaction beyond dropping my package off. But I have to guess if they can make something that's so easy seem so miserable, I'm not holding my breath about their customer service in general. This PO isn't the only one in my area. There's a great PO in downtown Wheaton. I don't even have to interact with anyone. They have a package drop-off right in the lobby. And when I have had to interact with the employees, they are very nice and polite. But back to my review. I'd say avoid this place like the plague. If you can find a different PO to go to, even if it means a little out of your way, go for it. This especially applies if you're dropping off a pre-paid package. You can thank me later. read more

Recently found out our beloved mailman Tom Niemic is retiring at the end of July. He took excellent care of Winfield Estates. When Tom is on duty your mail was always correct. When Tom took vacations our mail was always screwed up. Tom is a loving caring human being will be missed by all of us and especially our dogs. When mail truck arrives our dogs go crazy because they knew Tom had a treat. I pray our new mailman can live up to the standards set by Tom. Thank you Tom for years of great service. A package mailed from Ireland crossed the Atlantic ocean three times because the post office returned it without giving me proper notice. I received the one and only notice while I was out of town. Two weeks later My Irish friend emailed me and asked why the package was on his doorstep? He re-sent it and it was again returned to him. This time I received no notice. The postmaster did not have an explanation only to say that the delivery person was a new hire. My friend mailed the package to my office in Wheaton. And it arrived without a problem. Recently I was given another notice at my front door, I signed the notice and stuck it back on my front door. A week later a notice was in my mailbox stating that my package will be returned in a week if I don't go to the post office. The signed notice was still on my front door. Frankly, I do not understand the delivery service. When I asked for feedback regarding the Ireland package, a female clerk blamed me and did not explain the policy other than that itwill returned if it's not picked up in a timely fashion. "We do not have space to store your package." I tried to explain to her that as a civilian who does not know the inner workings of the post office nor did I receive adequate notice, I would like to know what the exact policy is. She was rude with me and then I asked to speak to the postmaster, who was not in at that time. The postmaster called me three days later to explain what I have written above, that she did not know why it happened and it was probably a new delivery person who was still learning on the job, and there is nothing she could do for me. I can accept a mistake, but because has happened more than once, I am left not knowing what to do and am very skeptical about the quality of the Winfield Post Office service. I also was frustrated with the way the clerk treated me. I was respect, she was unprofessional and rude. Also, I had a postage due (2 cents) notice left in my mailbox. When I took it to the PO, it was a small card with a forever stamp on it! The clerk was dumbfounded as he took my two cents. I was dumbfounded too! I recommend if you're going to have a package delivered have it sent to your office or family member, which is what I do now because I do not have any faith in the Winfield post office. read more

Workers provide incorrect information, can be very rude and our disorganized. Workers will chat and chat and chat with "regulars" while you wait in line forever! There was one person in front of me and I waited 20 minutes. If it is an option, go to a different post office. read more

We had great, thorough service from Kyu while there applying for 2 minor's passports for our kids. He went over the forms several times with me, to catch any blanks or errors I had made, utilizing the appointment time well. His help and attention to detail was invauable! read more

The workers are overall friendly, but the office is small so there's always a long line and wait time. The parking lot is cramped and small so park in the bank parking lot and walk over. read more

For such a small post office, they often have two windows open and most of the time I can get in and out quickly. I go out of my way to go to this location. The people that work there treat you like a valued customer instead of an annoyance -- if you want to be treated with respect you go to Winfield. If you want to be treated rudely, you visit Carol Stream. Winfield by far is the best place to ship packages. It is a smaller location but the personal service outweigh everything else. read more
