Consumers beware of this store's stunningly unscrupulous behavior. They tried to charge me $1800 to ship a 15-pound box to Massachusetts. The lowest they tried to charge me was ~ $700. We drove less than 5 miles away to another UPS store in Bloomingdale, IL, and had the item shipped for $300. This is outrageous and illegal. It was the worst form of fraud that I have ever experienced in over 30 years in DuPage County. read more

I started this review as a one-star but have increased the star rating after speaking with the UPS Store manager/owner "Brent," who did the right thing to correct a significant and seemingly purposeful inflation of all the dimensions on two large boxes by one of his employees. These increases of dimensional-weight with cubic-inch volume surcharges doubled the shipping price that we should have paid. I called and spoke to the employee who inflated the dimensions and he dismissively blamed "laser measurements and increasing shipping charges." When I contacted the corporate UPS Store headquarters at 800-789-4623 (CustomerRelations@UPSstore.com), they suggested I call and talk with the local franchise owner before escalating the complaint. I called and explained the situation, and Brent credited the difference to our credit card and saved me the extra time to dispute the charge with AmEx, enter a BBB complaint and file a claim for fraud. In the future, after being burned by this franchise, we will have our own measurements written on the box to cross-reference and match with what a UPS Store employee tries to assign. In any event, I appreciated Brent's responsiveness, acknowledgment and eventual reconciliation. read more

Lost package. Would not help file claim. Stated would not help as corporate would not allow them to help on packages They had not created the label for. Then wanted $5 to scan an invoice. UPS is NOT claim friendly. Must be the training they receive or lack of. I tried their customer service 800 number, but you can not understand their representatives, the worst part being they can not help because they dont understand you! I have frequented this store often to do my shipping. I needed to send back a DirecTv package and the clerk behind the counter asked for my account number. I had given him the number that I had and apparently it was incorrect. I tried the second time and it still was incorrect I then asked if there was a computer available where I could log in and find the account number. He said yes right over there but there's a service charge. I asked to clarify, a service charge to find a number so you get paid to ship the box back? Here said yes! I took my package and left! What a complete RIP off. I could understand if this was something where i needed to use the computer for hours on end but this would have been a 2 minute event. I mentioned it in a tip but the previous owner was evicted and a new owner has taken over. They re- opened as a full print shop now. I was dropping off some packages and the lady behind the counter was very nice and friendly. She even took a minute to pull out a full box of lollipops so that my tot could pick one. That was a nice gesture. I feel like they deserve a fresh start. read more

I went to this store bec I had the one of the worst customer service experience a couple of weeks ago from another UPS location (398 Army Trail) in Bloomingdale dealing with some Indian guy who has no business dealing with people at all! This location on the other hand was a complete opposite! The most friendliest and helpful staff! They immediately greeted me as I walked in and got my box packaged and labeled with no hassle. I usually go to the UPS store in Bartlett but was over at the CS Jewel and needed to send a return in that I had to pay for. Put the item in its original plastic envelope thing. Walked in. Kid behind the desk reluctantly came over to help. I told him I had this to send. Phone rang. He answered it and began to help the person on the phone. Left me standing there while looking stuff up and going all over the store looking for something. Can't make this up, right ? Then an older man came from back and I asked him if he could help me. I did say to him that the other guy got a phone call that was more important than me. DID NOT APOLOGIZE. Instead got snarky. Then told me that I can't send the package in that original Mylar envelope. Need a box and bubble wrap which they sell. WHAT?! I lost my cool admittedly and walked out. I called this store to ask for a quote to ship a small package to see if they could compete with the PO's flat rate, medium sized box rate. I got "Pat" on the phone - impatient, condescending, curt - who told me I was calling a local store not corporate, and she would need box dimensions, weight & zip code before giving me a quote, AND they "don't compete w/ the post office." I replied that I had done business there before and the store owner always tried to give me a better deal than what the PO offered me for my mailings, even if they were simply large envelopes w/ print media going out to hundreds. I told this lady that I wasn't going to bother now since she wasn't friendly and seemingly uninterested in my business (in the meantime she had actually come up w/ a quote for me), and she raised her voice a little more saying she was indeed friendly, etc., etc. When she was through, I told her it was sad that her standard for friendliness was so low. After I hung up, I looked through my stack of local business cards because I wanted to tell the store owner- who I knew- directly about Pat by calling him, not writing a review. This place has gone down since the new owner took over. I brought an item in to be packed. He brought it in the back and came back with a box 48x15x15. Actually, the size wasn't bad but he charged me $36.44 for the box and $5.79 for his effort. The UPS hub in Addison charges $15.99 for the same box! Am I to assume he used about $20 in bubble wrap? They are close to home but I will drive out of my way to go ANYWHERE but there. This new owner is rude and a thief. read more

I made a special trip there today with everything I needed - or so I thought. When it came time to seal the envelope with a 4" piece of tape I was told there was a "Taping-charge" - UNREAL!!! So since this was a 'return to a merchant' I declined and am now going to have UPS make a special trip themselves - just to pick it up. read more

Since the new owner Brett has come in , this store has gotten much better ! I did give this store a 2 before but now it's a 5. Much more personal and he will be redecorating the whole place. I can't say enough about what really nice people run this location. We just shipped an antique oak farmhouse table to Arizona. It's a family heirloom that weighs more than 80lbs. They packed it unbelievably well and found a surprisingly affordable way to ship it. They even took pictures so we'd know how safely it was packed. If you have something to ship, come here first! read more

Often times - review's are usually negative because those of US with positive experiences don't usually take the time. I was in there today to get some critical papers copied and mailed out with tracking. I was about done when a lady came in and I realized pretty quickly there was a language barrier. The lady being from Ukraine and was sent by US Post Office to UPS for an international package. The UPS folks knew they couldn't help and I stepped in to help the lady out. The store manager noticed and Thanked me for helping her customer. This lady wasn't but the store manager - Angel - saw it as she came into my store - she's a customer. She also offered me a nominal discount on my next visit. While there may be cheaper ways to go, these companies do run on fixed pricing. So reviews on pricing doesn't make sense - take your business elsewhere. What makes a business - store great - is feeling like customer and great customer service. I'd go back here even if it costed me $1 more since it's convenient and GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

This location went about and beyond to ship our most valuable wedding photos and glassware from Chicago to Texas. Everything was perfectly packed when it arrived and nothing was broken. I've never seen such attention to detail when packing goods for shipment. If you need something shipped and want it to arrive as you left it, go to this location. Also made me a copy of the listing showing that the dealer had received the package and sent me on my way with a smile! Go to the post office!!!! They are EXTREMELY expensive. They used the biggest box possible and charged $10 for it with the packing material. It cost me almost $24 to send a cell phone and charger for a 5-day delivery. Shame on me though. I should have asked what it would cost first.
