I had a pleasant conversation with the guy next to me. She came back and apologized for taking so long. I was gobsmacked, befuddled.. astonished "Postal Service" has been a lifelong oxymoron.. by far, my favorite post office when I need to go to in to drop off a package or get desk help, even though this isn't my town p.o. It's worth the extra mile driven for their courteous, friendly service. Usually I'm just dropping off a pre labeled package but they are quick to scan it which I appreciate so the intended recipient of the package knows it's on its way. the bad reviews are so OLD and not believable! read more

I just finished reading the past reviews of the downtowon Wheaton post office staff. Those folks must live in a different world. I have always had nice courteous service there and have lived in this area the past four years. The clerks have been kind, helpful and I have not one complaint. I've actually had decent luck with a few of the service desk people at this location, but OMG our maillady is absolutely horrible. Bad attitude, constantly my mail is mis-delivered, I frequently get other people's mail, it's terrible, but ever since they've been able to use "Covid" as an excuse, the service has gone way way down. The clerks are rude, impolite and generally not helpful. I signed up for premium forwarding service and most weeks the mail is missing and when I call to get tracking numbers they make it seem like an imposition. I paid significant funds for this service and you would think they could provide timely tracking numbers so I can track my weekly mail. Very disappointing that service levels at this post office are lacking. read more

This post office is terrible. With rare exceptions, the clerks are uncivil, condescending, slow, and rude. Often times there is one window open with a long line of customers, with PO workers walking around in plain view as if to say "look at me, I'm working but not for you!". There is no customer service at this PO. The lobby is a mess. I will drive to any other town to avoid this PO. They are the worst of government bureaucracy because they don't care about customers. We are just interrupting their officiousness. I'm giving them one star for their mail carriers, who have been very nice. read more

Our small business has held a PO box here since 2011. Starting in the latter part of 2012, we had problems with mail being returned to sender because some new PO employees did not recognize the name on the envelopes. [This is what the postmaster claimed.] Important mail would get lost/not received and go to Dead Mail. And now the latest fiasco of a clerk typing in the first part of an address for a flat rate package, but selecting an incorrect one that appeared on her screen! I spent a good portion of this afternoon talking long distance to two post office clerks in two towns of central Pennsylvania trying to figure out together why my package ended up going to the wrong address. Neither of these two clerks mentioned even began to pin the blame on a Wheaton PO clerk. I am the one who tried to visualize in my mind how it could have happened, while on the phone with them, figured it out and ran it by those PA postal clerks, who both said it was a possibility that my scenario was what actually happened. As I mentioned above, we have been having problems since the second half of 2012, and I have dealt directly face-to-face with employees at this Wheaton PO, as well as the postmaster over them (by phone) and the postmaster over that postmaster, too, in the past. The service improved a little and my particular problems got solved, but take note of my descriptive term "a little." Since the Christmas season, one of the four doors to this office has been out of order. It is now the end of January and that door is still broken. I guess I could complain again to the postmaster about the latest fiasco, but based on my past experiences, I know it would just aggravate me further to speak to officers who do not show any real commitment to doing excellently, nor require their employees to do excellent work. Even switching to the other Wheaton PO, which is a further drive away would cost us much in time, energy (changing website and other online info) and expense (discarding all our envelopes, print materials, and everything else that has the current address on it. So, the best way I think is to carefully scrutinize EVERYTHING they do with regards to our business, as well as alert everyone to do the same by this review on Yelp! Thanks. I went into this post office just before it was about to close expecting somewhat of a line as I've experienced at other post office locations. I was pleasantly surprised to find there was no long line as anticipated and my needs were taken care of immediately. The lady behind the counter was kind and helpful. I had to make sure I was in the right place as I wasn't use to getting this kind of service at a post office. All in all, I would happily go to this post office again. read more

I had my 3rd first-class in 1-month letter returned to me with a message that said "unable to deliver, return to sender." I took the letter back to the post office as I did the two times prior and the teller looked up the address, said it was valid ( I knew it was, it was to my grand-son) took a black marker and started blacking out the bar code, etc. I mentioned to Marie that I had returned two other letters and the teller put them in an envelope, addressed it, and sent it off. Marie said that is not standard protocol and the teller that did that should not have. Marie was rude, short with me and accused me of "giving her a hard time." Yea, I did. I did everything right and the p.o. screwed up. Just make it right and call it a day. read more

The woman with the black hair and glasses is very rude. I go in there to put a label on a Fed Ex package. They don't have any Fed Ex drop boxes there, but they used to, so it's hardly out of the norm for me to think I could do this. There are no scissors and tape on the customer counters, so I have to wait in line to get some. She immediately tells me that 'that's not us', etc. I say, 'I just need to use some scissors and tape'. She gives them to me, and then immediately calls the older couple behind me to come up. I don't know if she expected me to finish cutting and taping my package while they were leaning over me, but in the intertest of social distancing, I take the materials onto the customer counter. She then stops helping these customers to yell over to me in a sing-songy voice, 'sir, please return my scissors and tape when you are done.' I say 'why don't you leave them on the counter so people can use them instead of having to wait in line'. And then she starts saying 'I'm not being rude to you'. I'd say you were, sister. You can come get the scissors and tape yourself. read more

I called and no one picked up the phone for 30 minutes, and then I just hung up. I went there 3 minutes late, the door was open so I went in but they yelled and said we are closed and can not take any more customers. read more

Two employees were taking their sweet time to put stamps on the people's envelopes in front of the 5+ people waiting in line. Then they don't even tape up your box anymore, not even for a small fee. Make you buy their expensive, large roll of tape you'll never use again. And they wonder why the post office is going out of business. read more

Exceptionally clean and well kept facility. The staff are pleasant unlike at some other post offices and they have tons of shipping materials and self-service stations. read more

No stars for this wretched government post office. I was In line one day shortly after they got the number system. I hadn't taken a number and they made me go back and take one, then took the people behind me that had numbers. This PO is AWFUL. April 17, 2017, the day before taxes are due, and after work at 5 pm there was only one worker at the desk--oh wait there was another lady but she was shuffling papers and not looking up or helping anyone. I waited 20 minutes for my turn in line. I called the manager Tyrell. He whined that there was one person on extended sick leave and one on vacation. Apparently he isn't qualified to work at the desk and if he did he could get a complaint filed against him and get fined.... No wonder I like UPS better. But wait! The PO in glen ellyn has nice workers and short efficient lines, the PO in south wheaton has pleasant workers and faster lines, and the PO in Winfield is also quite pleasant. Let's just get rid of everyone who works at this place and start over. Tyrell has to go too. I am boycotting the wheaton PO. read more

Went to get a passport renewed. The employee in charge of passports was beyond rude. My daughter(who was with me at the time) wondered how someone like this gets a job and amazingly keeps it? My answer? Welcome to our government! read more
