Yep, I'll second the worst customer service review. Emotionally unstable snowflake named Jacob hung up on me when I asked if there were still sanctions on Baltic Birch plywood. He actually got offended and talked to me like he was on the cast of Mean Girls. This is my home location and I shop here often, but I will now make the drive to Coquitlam where have great customer service. You're a loser, Jacob. read more

I was very impressed with the service I received at the Burnaby Windsor Plywood store. I asked a young man to help me with a table top board that had 4 brackets and screws that were jammed. He readily assisted me and was very skillful and helpful in removing all the screws for me. His attitude was pleasant and professional and I was very pleased with the excellent service I received. This is so rare today and I wanted to express my appreciation to this man and to Windsor Plywood, Burnaby. read more

The Burnaby location has by far the WORST customer service I have ever seen, I always say hi when I walk in and not one person responds they look at you like deer staring at headlights. This happens everytime I visit the store. The one fellow that is sitting at the edge of the counter is always reading and never looks up. There are always 3 or 4 associates standing behind the counter having personal conversations, and when you ask for advice or help they look at you like you are bothering them. They are lucky there is no competition locally or they would lose a lot of business. read more

This is one of those stores, if you are a female, you MUST come completely prepared. Know exactly what you need, measurements, quantity, and if you ask for a specific item, CHECK IT to make sure it is the correct one, they are so annoyed by your presence that they give you the wrong items just to make your day as irritating as theirs. The prerequisite to be employed here is, a chip on the ol' shoulder and a consistently annoyed misogynist. The man that works here belittled me and got angry when I mentioned that I was a student. I had come into the store as a paying customer looking for a slab of wood with a live edge, but as soon as he learned I was a student he humiliated me by loudly announcing that no, he didn't have any samples, in a mocking voice. I didn't even ask for samples. In fact, I didn't ask for anything but help to buy something. Also, after he learned that I'm a student, I had to chase him down to get information or help. Because I happen to be a student, does that make me unwelcome in the store? Does it make me a less important customer? When I was ready to leave, I told him that he didn't have to treat anyone that way and he did apologize (sort of) but it was way too little too late. I left the store in tears and would never, ever, ever go back. Most negative experience I've had in any store ever, by far. I signed up for yelp just so I could leave this review. Came in to pick up some plywood for laser cutting as this place was recommended by others, well not others on yelp. Walk in and right away someone offered me some help. I asked for couple of sheets and he took me right on over. I picked up some Baltic birch and the prices were very good. Since these were 5' x 5' sheets he cut them down for me free of charge dispite the $2/cut signs everywhere, great service, something that would never come from say Home Depot. My only complaint was the website, hours of operation need to be updated. Normally I wouldn't care but it did cost me a trip there on Sunday while they were actually closed. read more

Warped custom doors delivered. Went to talk to them said no problem we will take care of it. Had a tenant in the property asked them if I could do it after the tenant left. They said no problem. Went to get them to remake the doors. Manager was rude and said too bad!!! read more

We needed to match some trim and crown molding already in our house, so ended up going all over Greater Vancouver. From what we saw, Windsor Plywood in Burnaby had the best selection of trim and molding around. It was way better than the Home Depots. And way better than Windsor Plywood in Kitsilano [which had a disorganized little jumble - the opposite of the Burnaby store]. In Burnaby, a knowledgeable guy named Scott tracked down what we needed. The store was well-organized, the cuts free of charge, the prices good and delivery was on time and friendly. Standout service, all around. read more

I first have to say that I have been a loyal customer of The Burnaby location of Windsor Plywood for years. I am not a builder or in the construction trade. Just a home owner that like to work with wood. I am basing my review on my past 2 experiences weighed to all of those prior. I had ordered some speciality items and was told that they (Windsor Plywood) have to call the distributor to assure that they still carried the item. I did get a phone call but the employee addressed me by the wrong name that he had written down during our conversation 10 minutes prior. I shrugged this off and placed the order and, as such, was required to give my information which included my name, phone number and credit card number before the order could be placed. I was told that my order would be grouped with other and sent in, of which I did not have problem with. I was told that it could take up to a full business week for delivery, BUT I would receive a phone call when the order arrived. I waited the 5 business days and no phone call. So I called, I talked to an employee and said that the manager was supposed to call me back regarding my order. He took my name and phone number and told my that the manager would return my call. The manager did but when I asked about my order he said that it had been there for a, "couple of days" and that he had" written the wrong phone number for the order". Which was why I received no phone call. I was a little upset at the level of customer service but hey mistakes will happen. I went to pick up my order and, unfortunately, I ordered 1 too many pieces of wood which I would require a refund. This did not seem to be a big deal for the employee serving me, however when I asked to have my wood cut, which you pay $2.00 per cut, this seemed to "cheese-off" the employee who was serving me. Who did cut the wood but acted as if I was creating an inconvenience. During this time a "builder" came in to pickup a group of expensive doors, who got served during my process by the employee who was helping me Now to be fair they were in the process of an inventory count, however if they did not have customers what inventory would they require. The other issue I had is, if I was a large dollar purchaser would the service I received been better. From the looks of it, it would have been. as such I will be taking my business to someone else who likes the fact that I spend my money there. read more

I went to the SE Calgary location on Jan. 28/2021 to purchase 10 4'x8' sheets of LP Smartsidse, as they had an excellent deal on "B" grade panels. I was taken to the yard and shown the product by a very helpful gentleman. When I paid, I was told that someone would help me in the yard. I drove my truck over to the yard gate, when there was no one there I proceeded to drive into the yard and park by where the panels needed to be taken down with a forklift. I had no idea I was doing anything wrong, in fact, I thought I was being helpful by getting closer to the product. When no one came out, I went to find a yard employee. I didn't have to look far....the yard employee came out and asked me what I was doing and how I got into "his" yard, then asked if I hit anything on my way in and told me I was supposed to wait for him. After taking the lift of panels down he continued to argue with me and berate me for pulling into the yard. I went back into the store and complained. The desk staff were very apologetic, however, when I went and found the manager he didn't even offer an apology, just said he was dealing with it. I have worked in construction for many years and this was by far the WORST customer interaction that I have ever had! read more

We've had a very poor experience with Windsor Plywood. First, the door that we liked that they advertised on the internet as being available at their store was not, in fact, in stock or even on display. We went in at a quiet time on a Sunday morning. We had to go find a salesperson, who was chatting at the desk. He told us they didn't have the door we want and then walked away from us without answering any further questions - we had to go hunt him down to get more info. We ended up buying the door because we really liked the style and then he told us it would be at least a week to get it 'pre-hung' and then delivery would take another day or two, but said he would call me if he could get it earlier for us, possibly by Thursday. We were surprised and disappointed that they consider a standard pre-hung door to be a "custom" job that takes a week to do, but again decided to wait because we like the style. I called on Wednesday to ask if the doors might be available on Thursday, and again the customer service really irritated me. The manager put the same salesperson on the phone with me who asked me why I called and told me that he had said he would let me know when the doors were ready and said he would call me when they got to the store to tell me when the delivery would happen. On the Tuesday I had a call from my husband who had stopped by our house briefly on the way to a meeting and found the delivery truck outside out house - my husband had to leave and i had to rush home to take care of this. The delivery man was alone and wanted to know when my husband would be back to help him unload the truck! I have a bad shoulder but said I would have to help - he told me he would take them as far as the front stairs of the house and then I was on my own. I refused and said he could return the doors at that point and come back with someone who could actually deliver them into my house. Then I found a crack in one of the frames. My contractor, who was off that day as he was waiting to get the doors before his work could progress, fortunately showed up at that point and took a look - he said that after all this it would be a shame to return the doors and he could repair the crack, so he got the delivery person to help him carry them right upstairs to where they will be put in. Today he's putting the doors in and we found that all the frames are crooked and the doors don't even close properly. Our contractor described them as "cheap quality". They cost $210 each. We are just very disappointed. My husband called to complain and the manager was patronizing and placating and offered no constructive solution or apology for the experience. All in all a very bad experience and I will not shop there again. read more

Windsor Plywood has lots of speciality items what one would not find at Home D or Rona and they do have some knowlagable staff what is hard to find at times at H D and R. It pays tho shop around and one should not base opinions an a single experiance. M.C. read more
