I had two gas fireplaces installed by Vaglio last year. The one in the basement operated…read morebrilliantly. The remote control of the one on the main floor worked intermittently. Various solutions were attempted including replacing the remote. Nothing solved my problem. It didn't help my credibility that everything worked whenever the Vaglio people visited. Fortunately for me, Vaglio took me seriously. After trying everything else, they changed the type of remote control I had. Since then, all has worked perfectly. :-) The best explanation of my problem is that there is probably some intermittent radio signal that interfered with my original remote and that operated mostly out of business hours. The new remote uses a different system and thus manages to get through. Through all this the Vaglio people continued to work with me. I really want to thank Jeff F, Angus, and everyone else involved for their perseverance. It would have been very easy for them to just label me as a "problem customer". We selected the Valor insert model that we wanted, and when we received the cost estimate, we gave the go ahead thinking that the overly high installation cost would be reduced once the installers completed the install. Such was not the case. Everything was cleared and wide open, ready to go. The two installers were at our place for 1 hour 40 minutes, and the installation fee was $1350. We were then told that the charge is the same whether the installers were on site for 1 hour or 8 hours. That's outrageous. Had I known, I would have let them tear the drywall out and remove the existing framing.

I found them to be on time, accurate, very fair price wise and ultimately highly trustworthy, along with being good people. They won't sell you something you don't need, but also won't just band aid a solution. They will recommend what is necessary to do now with an eye down the road as to what will be your best choice long term. In our case, they could have replaced the blower and other parts on the old furnace for about half the price of a new one (which comes with a 10 year warranty), so the decision was easy to replace the entire unit. Expensive now but don't have to worry about again. Cannot recommend these gentleman and this company enough!

This issue persisted for over six months. Despite multiple service visits, the problem remained unresolved. I was repeatedly told the system was functioning properly, even though it clearly was not. He would see it at 78F and claim it was normal. Eventually, many months later, Royal Pro Heating paid for a third-party HVAC specialist to assess the system. That technician identified serious deficiencies and commented that whoever installed the system "doesn't know what they are doing." Following that, further repairs were made--including the installation of a missing filter dryer--but the system still does not cool the home sufficiently. I also raised concerns about inflated charges--for example, a $499 cost for an Ecobee thermostat that typically retails for significantly less--and the delays, mismanagement, and lack of accountability throughout the process. I formally requested partial compensation. In the end, the compensation offered was not sufficient or fair, and the matter remains unresolved.

A previous service person had just cleaned the fireplace and indicated that if it did not work properly that we should replace the thermocouple, thermopile, and the regulator at an incredible cost. Barry cleaned the fireplace again, reset the stones, and demonstrated that the flue and cold air vent combination had been installed at a right angle instead of at an angle greater than 90 degrees. He provided us with a safe method to operate the fireplace and it works and does not soot up the glass under all environmental conditions except during high winds. His bill was much less than the other $1000 estimate and he urged us to call him back if there was a problem. He is knowledgeable, honest, and a clean worker. We can recommend him.
