Have you ever been ghosted by a company from which you wish to purchase from them for no apparent…read morereason? We moved to Langley after buying a condo and after fixing various things in the unit that were broken we turned our attention to the fireplace in mid August. It sat on the hearth and we wanted to get rid of it and have a wall insert so we contacted Mainland Fireplace as they were close and when we went and inspected their wares in the store booked an inspection. Employee A came right away did the inspection and said he would get back to us in a few day. OK. Around 3 weeks later he had not done so thus we phoned the store and asked for him but were told he had been sick but would be back next week and contact us. So we waited....and after around 10 days not having heard from him we called again. We were told he was busy, but would get back to us. When A didnt get back to us after a week I phoned. This time I spoke to A. He said there was some problem with the size of the pipe leading into the wall, did tell me it would be around $4000 for the fireplace and would get back to me. After he didnt get back to me after another week, this time I went to the store and spoke to him again. He told me he was going to send a retired gas gasline guy named B around to take a look at it early the following week (we are now early October, seven weeks after A did the initial inspection. A week later when we never heard back from B we took advice from a fellow condo resident about another unnamed local fireplace competitor, gave up on Mainland and contacted them. They resolved our issue immediately. So I am not complaining about Mainland Fireplaces products or work but wonder how any business can just continue to basically ignore the business of someone who wanted to use their service ...and in fact to this day B the "retired gasline guy" has still NEVER called us. In fact not once did they ever call us back after the initial inspection. Why I just do not know or understand. We never argued with them or had any unpleasantness, did not annoy them with floods of calls, it was almost like they were playing a game with all the employees having a bet on how long they could string us along without ever doing anything. Whoever guessed 2 months would have been a winner! I cannot imagine a company being still in business if this was the norm for their presale service...so if the review above me was complaining about how they treat people post sale, I am covering the other end of the spectrum. The end result however was that they drove us into the arms of a much better and more efficient company who completed our job quickly thanks to the terrible presale service from Mainland Fireplace employee A. Thank you for ignoring me.

The communication at this company has been absolutely unacceptable. We visited on Saturday,…read moreNovember 16th, and spoke directly with the owner, who gave us hope that he could repair our old fireplace. We were assured that he would call with a plan on Monday, November 18th. However, no call was received, so we followed up on November 19th. We were told, "The owner is still working on how to fix your problem," despite the fact that we had already been led to believe a plan was in place. After further delays, we finally received a plan on Friday, November 22nd. We attempted to make the first payment on Saturday, November 23rd, but the owner was unable to process the transaction. We were then able to make the payment on Tuesday, November 26th. Another week passed before we received an appointment to remove our unit, and it wasn't until Tuesday, December 3rd that technicians arrived to remove the fireplace. Since then, we have received no updates. When we call for information, we are directed to voicemail and never receive a return call. If you are seeking timely service with proper communication, this is NOT the company to work with. We have over 100 units in our complex, and I will ensure that none of these owners engage with Fireplaces Unlimited.

I walked in this store expecting to hardline negotiate some sort of deal. My existing unit was old,…read moreugly and inoperable... Not only do they have suitable replacements.... They ALSO have access to a wonderful stone mason to wrap this masterpiece with even more beauty. I have a problem when i get home.... You can not rip the smile off my face. Daniel is helpful and reasonable. I will start my search here, every time i need a new fireplace.
