In January 2024, I hired Royal Pro Heating to install a new HVAC system (heat pump and furnace). After installation, the system failed to cool the home adequately. This issue persisted for over six months. Despite multiple service visits, the problem remained unresolved. I was repeatedly told the system was functioning properly, even though it clearly was not. He would see it at 78F and claim it was normal. Eventually, many months later, Royal Pro Heating paid for a third-party HVAC specialist to assess the system. That technician identified serious deficiencies and commented that whoever installed the system "doesn't know what they are doing." Following that, further repairs were made--including the installation of a missing filter dryer--but the system still does not cool the home sufficiently. I also raised concerns about inflated charges--for example, a $499 cost for an Ecobee thermostat that typically retails for significantly less--and the delays, mismanagement, and lack of accountability throughout the process. I formally requested partial compensation. In the end, the compensation offered was not sufficient or fair, and the matter remains unresolved. read more

Within 24 hours we had an appointment to remedy our problem and Andrew from RH was at our place a day later to repair our fireplace. Very speedy service and a professional job done. Andrew and his crew, from Royal Pro Heating, removed our 25 year old furnace and installed a new high efficiency furnace and A/C unit for us. Prior to working with Royal Heating Pro Ltd. on this big project, I spoke to a couple of other companies. They both wanted a lot more money and were recommending things that weren't required. Andrew and his team were responsive, efficient, professional, knowledgeable, and affordable. They completed the job in 2 days. They found a way to run electrical to the breaker panel and new thermostat without cutting into our drywall. They installed the new furnace venting and A/C units without cutting into interior drywall or floor framing. Andrew also provided us with information and documentation so that we could apply for a fortis rebate. We've only had the system for a few days, but so far everything is working well and we are happy. The true test will be this summer's heat and next winter's cold. I would recommend this company to anyone looking to update their home heating/cooling. I think our Furnace and A/C will operate solidly for many years to come. read more

I called Royal Heating after reading many positive Google reviews. I had turned my fireplace off for a few years and when I got it serviced, a repair guy from a company I can't remember the name of the company told me I had to replace an expensive part. I never got it repaired as the guy did not seem to know what he was doing and took a long time servicing the fireplace and he wanted to charge me a lot for a repair I didn't even need. Later, I called Royal Heating and spoke with Andrew. He came over the same day. It didn't take him long to get it working and the part he replaced and his labour was not too expensive. I was impressed with his prompt service and his honesty. I would recommend Andrew if you need your fireplace fixed. read more

I called Royal Heating to fix a problem with my gas fire place. Their technician came and spent approx. 45 minutes working on the fireplace without fixing it. In the end, he told me that I needed a new main pressure valve - a $700 dollar repair that he offered to do for $650. I paid the $100 service fee for this advice and said I'd think about it. Fortunately, I then called Sure Fire Gas for a second opinion. After I briefly described the problem, their repair person immediately diagnosed the issue as a simple blockage in my burner head. He said that it was a really common problem and advised (for free) that I buy some compressed air and blow it through the burner head to clean it out. I followed his instructions (spending a mere $12.99 on some compressed air) and my fireplace now works perfectly. My advice? Call Sure Fire Gas. read more

I have dealt with service contractors and subtrades for 40 years, several hundred different companies would be a conservative number. I am not easy to please and rarely bother with reviews but this gentleman deserves my time. Pay attention other service companies this is how its done. I phoned - Andrew answered. He came almost right away. Ascertained the issue very quickly. His rate for the initial service call is good, fair and slightly less than others. He attempted an immediate repair with a circuit board in his service vehicle. It wasn't quiet right and showed me why. He gave me the cost of the new board and said it would be ordered the next day. He could not have known delivery in these covid times and sure enough it was delayed and CALLED AND UPDATED ME. It arrived a week later. He came immediately and installed it. Heres why I have reviewed ... He took it upon himself to order an air proving switch, an item we thought could also be the problem, the new one would interface with the new board seamlessly. He did not up sell me, he prevented another possible issue. He then discounted the cost of both to bring the total to, or very close to, the original quote. I remain impressed. I knew something about hydronic furnaces but was having trouble figuring out this problem so called Andrew. After telling me it was my batteries, and then my thermostats (all of them?) and unwiring those, he told me that I had the wrong pressure regulator (works fine), backflow preventer (yes I knew it was not set up right but this was not causing my problem), dripping valve (also not causing my problem), air separator noisy (also not causing my problem) and quoted me 850 dollars to fix all the above. I really didn't think this was going to help my problem and then he told me if it didn't we could move on to the circulation pump and replace that. Which I also knew wasn't the problem. The problem was I wasn't getting enough pressure in the system. After he left I spent a couple hours looking at it again and found out it was the valve attached to the expansion tank that was jammed with junk and not allowing any flow through to the system. Once I cleaned that out, and then went around the house rewiring all the thermostats, everything worked fine. I think Andrew knows how to replace parts and probably the thing he likes to replace most is the entire furnace system. The problem is he really doesn't know his stuff, and is just playing a guessing game which gets expensive for the homeowner. I am not saying he was trying to take me for a ride, he seemed to genuinely want to help. Also his English was not great and that made it difficult to communicate on anything more than the basics. I doubt he has been in this business for very long. In the end he charged me $99 service call which was not a lot, but I would rather pay more to get someone with better experience. read more

We've had Andrew (from Royal Heating in British Columbia, Canada) come out 3 times now over several years. The first two calls were for our furnace. The first time, during a cold snap in January he came over right away at 10 pm at night. He was very honest with us and let us know our options with our aging furnace and we elected to replace a part rather than getting one of the new high efficiency furnaces. Our furnace was back up and running that evening. We didn't have to call him back for our furnace for another 3 winters, and again our furnace has survived and we hope to squeak another couple of years out of it. Recently, we had a fireplace pilot light issue and he was able to visit us within a day of our call. He explained how to care for and clean the fireplace as well as what was wrong with our pilot light. He replaced the pilot light quickly and his price for parts and labour was as quoted and seemed reasonable and fair. He is an excellent communicator, patient, quick, reliable and knowledgeable.
