I obtained a quote for central air conditioning from three separate providers before choosing to go with Tomas and Sunrise Plumbing and Heating. Tomas was by far the friendliest, and most straight forward consultant to deal with during the quotation stage. He explained my options and gave me his opinion on what equipment I should choose. I asked him about a more expensive (2 stage) option (which a previous vendor consultant had insisted I choose) and he explained that yes, that was an option, but realistically was not necessary for this application and proceeded to explain the reasons it was not worth the additional cost (which were corroborated by a third vendor providing a quote later than week). Tomas further explained to me that he would rather not oversell a customer to preserve his reputation and keep his employees working. I found this quite a refreshing approach and I pretty much decided right then that I was going with him, so long as his quote wasn't to high compared to the others. As it turned out, he was also best on price of the three quotes I obtained (on comparable equipment) so that worked out nicely.
Once the paperwork was done he told me he would get back to me with the next available installation date. This was on Thursday. On Monday afternoon he called and apologized that he had not gotten back to me as he and his employees had been quite busy on other installs. Which was not surprising to me considering it's mid June and after a week of very high temperatures. He said that his employees were quite busy on other previous commitments and that he could not pull any of them to do my install so he would come do it personally and asked if tomorrow (Tuesday) worked. I said of course and he arrived at exactly the time he said he would and got the install done well within the time he estimated, including some additional services (furnace servicing) that I asked if he could also do during his visit.
Not only did Tomas do the A/C install, and service the furnace, he also identified some issues with the furnace from it's initial install and resolved them. Finally, once the install was done and the A/C was running, we noticed that it was not shutting off once the house reached the desired temperature. The following morning I called Tomas and explained the situation. He said that he thought he knew what the issue might be and that he would come by ASAP. That afternoon he dropped by with another crew member and then went about diagnosing the issue. 15 minutes later he explained that it was a simple wiring issue that he'd overlooked. He tested the system and now it is operating perfectly.
Sunrise will definitely be my HVAC servicing provider in the future. And Tomas will be the first vendor I call (and likely who I will go with) when I need to replace my furnace and/or hot water tank. read more
