The employees are wonderful and the selection is fine, but woman I think must have been the owner was so rude to her employees. I don't want to support a business where someone talks other people the way that she does. I can assume from her attitude that they aren't getting a cent above minimum wage. read more

I was doing a tricky plumbing job on our home last year, and needed some unusual sized gaskets and large stainless steel washers to install a large sink in our lower floor washroom. These folks had it all, neatly organized and fairly priced, along with a bunch of small items I'd been looking around for, and good advice on making the whole project successful. That's the big plus when you're dealing with a locally owned, 100% all-Canadian business -- especially these days, when shopping at a large US-based multi-national leaves a bad taste in your mouth! read more

The last time I visited this business (3 years ago) I could give only 5 Star ratings for them. HOWEVER today I attended to their facility and believe it must be under New Management as a previous Car Ignition Fob product they offered was $75.00 with FREE programming (it takes about 2 minutes)... But today the new Staff charge $92.00 for the Fob and $100.00 to initiate the 2 minute programming. I give 2 Stars today because people tend to ignore 1 Star ratings but believe me they are NOT the great operation they once were. read more

Shameful experience. Please avoid unless you want to be treated like a second class citizen. I'm a huge fan of supporting local Canadian businesses such as Home Hardware (HH), but my experience today sadly altered my stance and it's safe to say that we will not be supporting this particular HH anymore. I called to see if HH would price match another Canadian business which was advertising the same product for a significant lower price. As HH's website states that they do price match local businesses, I didn't think it would result in a number of lengthy conversations. I spoke to a total of 4 staff members for a simple question on whether or not they price match. The first employee told me that they do not price match (which is incorrect). She put me on hold while she speaks to a supervisor. I reiterated the exact message to the second and third employee after they picked up the phone and proceeded to put me on hold again to speak to the supervisor. The last call was by far the most demeaning. The person, Sonia (whom I later learned is the manager/owner) picked up the phone and requested my name and the stated reason for my call without identifying herself. This ordeal has been a nuisance as I already repeated my story three times. The rest of the call was demeaning and disrespectful. Sonia flatly told me they only price match local competitors such as Home Depot and Rona. When I suggested that they should perhaps update their terms of conditions of what constitutes as local, her demeanour went from cold to rude. Sonia blatantly told me to purchase the item from the competitor website if it's such a good deal in an incredibly condescending tone...which I will incline to do. I only called because I wanted to support a local Canadian business especially since businesses have been hit hard with Covid. I would be okay with them telling me that they cannot pricematch a Canadian website. But having to talk to three different staff members, be on hold for an incessant period of time, and then to be treated in such a condescending way is just rude. Please take your hard earned money elsewhere. read more

Update: I googled the plumbing part that I wanted to replace, and I managed to find one that sells it locally. On top of that, the cost for that part was unbelievably at one-third of what Home Hardware was going to charge. Always check around for prices, and you will be surprised how much your savings will be! read more

Fantastic staff. I feel like everyone I come in here I learn something new. The staff gets me what I need quick and has always been great to direct me to the right project for the job at hand. Prices are very competitive with the big box stores but it's nice to know you are supporting a locally owned business. read more

I came in here while waiting for the guy I am dating to meet me for dinner. I wanted to get something for my step dad for Father's Day. I walked in and yelled (no angrily) at the first person I saw, "What do Father's Like?" A very nice gentleman walked me through the isles until I found something that my dad would appreciate. I ended up getting vacuum seal bags for the fridge and freezer so that his packed food would last longer. The lady at the til was very sweet and friendly. Prices are standard with all other HH locations. The layout is organized, however, this is a very small store, therefore, selection is limited. read more
