Original review date: 05/02/2020. Sent my wife down there with my Touareg TDI (Diesel equipped SUV) with a factory tow rating of 7700 lbs to pick up a trailer so that we can move 2 queen beds and a dresser and the associated framing of the beds. Total weight should be under 4000 lbs with the trailer. This particular tow package from VW allows for weight distribution if necessary. It's in the manual and on the factory tow hitch sticker. The gentlemen told my wife that he "doesn't have anything" to rent since the Touareg has a "short wheelbase". The wife leaves and calls me. I tell her to turn around and go back. I tell that same gentleman (via phone call) that this vehicle is rated to tow a maximum of 7700 lbs from the factory and that it is a diesel equipped vehicle which enables the higher tow capability. He tells me that he "HAS NOTHING for that wheelbase." I ask him "So, you don't have any 6 footers, 8 footers, 10, footers as it sounds like you don't have 14 or 16 footers in stock?" He replies (via phone): "No, I have nothing at all. Have a good day". He hands the phone back to my wife and she get back into the Touareg. I ask her to snap a photo or two of everything he has on the lot at the time she leaves. She does. Attached to this review are the trailers that he "Doesn't have in stock" or "The wheelbase is too short"... I have in the past (going back to 2007), have showed up with trucks shorter than my Touareg, longer than my Touareg and the same size as my Touareg. No issues renting back then.....I guess this guy knows more than VW, the dealership, and me....but I suspect if I show up with the F450, I might get either a "that's too big of a truck for the trailer" or "Sure I will rent to you". This is not my first time at this business nor do I appreciate being lied to by this business. Guess this guy doesn't want to rent to anyone who doesn't have a dedicated HD truck or a truck that "looks like it will tow his trailers". Guess this will be the last time that I take any vehicle over to him to rent one of his trailers. For reference, VW (the manufacturer) does state that these vehicles can easily tow 12 foot trailers but do NOT recommend trailers beyond 24 feet so long as the tongue weight, total weight and load is all under the limit and properly distributed. To the owner, do not bother trying to talk you way out of this ....I know from speaking with your spouse on the phone prior to sending my wife over that you had some things going on, hence the limited hours. Besides trailer rentals they sell trailer axle parts, tires and rims. I needed a spare tire and rim for a new trailer and they had what I needed. They explained the 4 variations of the 5 hole rim and how to determine which one you have. They installed the tire on the rim in a few minutes at a reasonable price. Good experience. read more

If you can avoid these people at all costs. They will lie to you and promise things that they have no intention of doing. They miscommunicate information and tell you they close at five when actually they close at one. They call your contacts the day of return and demand payment for something they've already received payment for. And once trailers been returned and promise a refund, they don't Follow through. Instead they tell you how lucky you are because you came out ahead, because the trailer pick up fee is $250 and they only charged 225. Seriously though, Don't rent from these guys. Place deserves no stars, they discriminate against Mexicans and people of color, all their trailers are old. also the building they work out of is filthy and has not been cleaned or sanitized and doesn't follow COVID-19 guidelines. I rented from these guys a while back, and while their trailers and rates were okay, their service was the most infuriating thing I have ever experienced. I had to make a run to South Austin, and unfortunately had to head back north to return the trailer during rush hour. I was doing fine, but got delayed by a couple of minutes on I-35. So, I called to let the company know that I would be there NO LATER than 5:02 PM (they close at 5:00. I just asked that they keep the gate open so I could drop the trailer, and wouldn't have even had a problem paying a nominal late fee if I could just avoid having to make a special trip back to town the next day. However, the response was a flat "no!" I thought he was joking, but soon figured out he was serious. So, I risked life and limb to try to fight through traffic and get there on time. I arrived at 5:01, and the place was locked up and no one was around. It was obvious that this guy had rushed out after he got my call because there is no other way that he could have been completely out of sight by that time. As a result, I made the trip back in the next day to return the trailer, and asked why they couldn't accommodate the night before. The response wasn't that they had a family commitment or some other compelling reason, but was just that this was how they did business. I was charged a full extra day's rental. I politely let the guy know that this made me not want to do business with them, and the response was, "that's up to you." You might be thinking that this was his response to me being rude to him, but I was really totally respectful and nice the entire time (partially in hopes that he would understand and offer to not charge the extra fee). This was one of the rudest and most apathetic business transactions I have ever experienced, and I won't be back...EVER! read more

I have done business with these guys and this owner for over 20 years. Their trailers are always well maintained, they have quite a few, and they are easy to get in and out quickly. With that said, I have no doubt the 1 star reviews are 100% accurate. The owner is terrible at CS and has always been that way. But I don't really care. I need a trailer that works and he always has them. Just don't expect a pleasant man. He's been doing the same boring job every day for over 30 years. So if you need to be appreciated as a trailer rental customer then go somewhere else but if your fine just renting a well maintained trailer and paying a fair price these guys do that well. read more

Called today and inquired about renting a car trailer. Theyre closed over the long weekend which I can understand, but when I asked about picking up the trailer on Saturday night, last thing before they closed, and dropping it off on Tuesday morning, how many days would I be charged for? He told me four, and I asked for an explination and said that I thought this was unfair and would be happy to pay for the two days that I had this out for, at which point the man on the phone became extremely rude with me and started going on about how his store wasnt the swap meet. A simple "no" wouldve been more than fine. 0/5, the staff here seems to be rude and unprofessional. These guys were great! The guy behind the counter was nice and polite and told me exactly how their rentals work. They gave me an 18 foot heavy duty trailer with steel sides and good tires for $40 a day. Their service was great and the trailer worked flawlessly. If I could give them zero. It would be a better day for people if you just go next door to u-haul or across the street to united rental. The lady inside is ok but that guy outside need to find another job customer service is not his thing. They want to put the blame on us trying to help them hook up the trailer but as soon as the lady said we could not do that we stopped. The the a..hole comes around and say we don't know how to hook up the trailers little does he know I pull way bigger rigs than the p.o.s he has. Also does not matter what time you get there certain people have "priority" there, I heard this guy right in front of me tell another customer say he was first in line and was moved up. We just thought to rent a trailer from there to make it easier and fast for us but coming to this place just made it worse. Rick and Kelly are super easy to work with. I rented two trailers for a high school activity. One of the trailers was brand new and the other trailer was slightly older, but in excellent condition. The process was easy and fast, and I felt like I was in great hands with both of them. Me and my pregnant wife renter a trailer from here because of the rates. However customer service was far from good. While hauling a load on highway 290 going 50 mph. The trailer tire blew and we were stranded on the side of the road. I called and asked him if there was a spare tire on the trailer and he said no, but that I could come pick it up from the office. He was not willing to bring the tire to me so my pregnant wife had to go get the tire while I watched the trailer on the side of the road. We finally get the tire fixed and arrive our house 3 hours later. When I called them to let them know that I would not be back by 5pm, he wanted to charge me for the extra day and charge me for the tire. I let him know that I was not paying for either and after some frustration and debating, he finally said ok. I would ask for a spare tire if you rent from them. read more

Where's the zero star option? We were regular customer's at Windsor Park Trailer Rental until the owner/staff Rick's behavior ended our business relationship. In 2012, we spent over $1,500 renting trailers for our landscaping business, and surely spent more in 2013. You would think they would try to keep our business. The problem began when Rick had a complaint about how we returned one of the trailers. Granted, we are landscapers and maybe left a trailer a little dirty once or twice. However, these are utility trailers, stored outside generally not suited to use for moving anything that would be hurt by a little soil. Rick complained to my coworker about the dirt in such an offensive and unprofessional way as to be off-putting. We want to be good customers, so we move on and try to make sure the trailers are returned clean. We make a concerted effort to thoroughly clean the trailers before returning them. Rick would regularly comment and hassle us about how clean the trailers were and to use a tarp. He even noted our file with a 'be sure to check...', so we got hassled every time we patronized his business. The worst part is that we did use tarps and we did clean the trailers before returning them. He never had the fortitude to actually try to charge us a cleaning fee, he just made the experience uncomfortable and annoying by poking the bear. The last time (ever) we went to Windsor I went into the office to rent the trailer, and Rick asked for the truck insurance again, even though we were there a few days earlier and he saw the insurance then. He was obviously in a bad mood and wanted to be difficult. No big deal, I went an got the insurance card for him to copy, again. He proceeded to tell me how we needed to use a tarp and bring the trailer back clean, even if we had to take it to a carwash......He mentioned how my coworker had a problem with that, so I explained our point of view, that we ARE cleaning, etc. and it starts to aggravate the situation to always have to hear complaints when we bring them business. Mind you, I am polite and agree with him about bringing the trailers back clean. I just want to get to work, not argue, so I assure him we will clean up. He says, 'If there's a problem, we don't have to rent...', actually picking a fight in a way. I assure him, no problem. He says the trailer needs to come back the way it leaves, so I let him know we will pay special attention to how the trailers leave. As we are hooking up the trailer, I look to see how clean it is and as usual it isn't clean. I point out, to the other guy who works there, there are rusty nuts and bolts, rock stuck between the boards, soil in the cracks, etc. and Rick runs up to interject 'I don't understand what's so hard about bringing them back the same way they leave...' That's just it, they are ALREADY dirty and you are just making your customer miserable. The situation rapidly deteriorates, he suggests that I should take a refund and I agree. As we proceed back to the office I mention how we bring him a great deal of business. He explains that he doesn't need our business, we're just one client of several. He points out how many trailers ha has rented even in poor weather, so why would we be important...? He kept stopping on the way to the office to escalate the argument. At one point I actually had to stop and ask him if he was assaulting me as he was in my face waving his hands around my head in a very aggressive way. If he was in good shape I would have felt threatened. I could swear at that point he told me I'm a jerk, so I replied 'I'm a jerk?' No he says, 'You're a joke!' Okay, whatever the case jerk, joke, who cares! I'm resisting the urge to call names as i write this review, but never would have thought it appropriate then. Rick is completely unprofessional and offensive. All this from someone we regularly bring business. When I receive my refund and leave the office, he offers up a snarky 'Have a nice day!' Really? It's no wonder nobody has anything nice to say. Go to Longhorn Rentals or U-haul and get service with a decent attitude. read more

I made the mistake of renting a trailer from these guys to bring new machinery to my company 8 hours away . After returning , being a small business owner and a ma gone on the trailer it was difficult to make time to return the trailer . Rick called everyday then proceeded to go off on me about the trailer not being returned . Why it matters since I'm paying for it I don't get . I have experienced the same type of service Robbie had, only i have been renting from this establishment one to two times a month for over a year! I was told they did not take reservations on trailer sizes, and when i arrived i requested a 16 foot trailer and was told it was being held for a more valued customer. They do not need or appreciate your business and they will not treat you like a respectable member of society. I will not be back to rent from these people again. read more
