So tired of everyone blaming COVID! The alarms were triggered by the owner. I know this because he had workers there when we showed up and they called him about us. screw in the shower drain. Leaking tank and side access doors don't open up. I could go on but no point when ownership doesn't take responsibility! So, maybe these guys just have way too much business than they can handle. I can't comment on the quality of their work since I really couldn't get past the "front door", but I do have a couple observations that maybe they might notice and try to improve. I have a motorhome that needs some work and really didn't feel all that great about another RV repair shop that just didn't have that great of a Yelp rating. So, I found Motivated RV's website and since they're located nearby, and since some people found them to be talented and helpful, I decided to reach out to see if they could help me. First thing that disappointed me is that no one answers the phone listed on their website. You'll just get a recorded message to email Bryan Fiese who will reply back within 24 hours. That's ok for starters, I guess, but the thought did occur that if I needed to talk to them while they had my coach, doing business by strictly email wasn't going to be my first choice of comfort. My email basically asked if they could help me and presented my list of needed repairs. Bryan responded that they were on a 2 month wait list. He didn't offer to put me on the list, so I replied back to Bryan and asked to be put on their wait-list. 24 hours went by, so I emailed again and asked to be put on their wait-list. I got a kind-of terse reply from Bryan that said (literally quoting) "Reach back out in February". No, niceties, punctuation, or anything. And again, no offer to get me on a waiting list. So, basically I need to wait till February and maybe.. just maybe.. I get to get on a waiting list? Nah.. there are other businesses. And I found a couple others with a little research that actually appeared to want my business. So, the message I'd like to send to Motivated RV is that you really didn't sound that motivated to me. Also, when faced with a customer who does YOU the honor of wanting to do business with you, you at least should be a little more welcoming or humble, no matter how fat and happy you might be at present. Someday, this COVID stuff will recede and your business will drop back to a more manageable degree and you're going to start looking for business again. read more

My husband and I brought in a 1968 Overlander airstream with big dreams for it to be converted into a cute little AirBnB for our back yard. It wasn't in the greatest shape, but we had visions of custom flooring, beds, backsplash, and more. The Motivated team went above and beyond to visualize and produce our dream. Not only did they find and install a custom vintage refrigerator and stovetop for guests to use, but they kept us informed and we felt like a part of the entire process. My husband and I are not experts at this, by any stretch of the imagination, so we had a few unrealistic expectations when it came to electricity and plumbing, but the team worked insanely hard to develop alternative plans that worked perfectly for us. One major thing we learned along the way is that this is not an overnight process. I appreciate the time that was taken to plan and execute nearly every idea we had. The folks in the office were pleasant and informed, and the team was accommodating, genuine, and fun. We paid for what we got, and what we got was an awesome AirBnB we may even travel in during off season, as well as a great experience and a lasting business relationship. read more

They made an honest mistake that turned into an absolute nightmare. They added a new screw to our engine cover which went through the main wiring harness. They then tried to fix the mistake by spending a week doing even more damage. In the end this company refused to take responsibility for the damage or cover the repair bill from the new shop that spent nearly 6 weeks trying to track down all the damage they caused. The company will likely reply to this review saying they did nothing wrong. They even keep suppressing my review, and others, on another site to keep a falsely high rating. We drove 2000 miles to get to them but had to be towed out of their lot so I will let you decide who you think was at fault. After 6 weeks on another shops lot and an $8,000 repair bill to fix all the damage they caused we were finally able to get back on the road. Avoid at all cost! read more

I've had Motivated RV do a bunch of work on my vintage Airstream ('75 Overlander) over the past year or so and they've always done a great job. They are very busy and sometimes there is a long wait to get scheduled so you do have to be a little patient. I wouldn't expect a "rush" job. That said, I've never been disappointed in the results and the price has always been reasonable. read more

I had wanted to purchase and customize an Airstream trailer for many months and so I contacted Motivated RV about how best to go about it. The owner Bryan Fiese was responsive to my emails and advised me to get the nicest one I could afford. I bought a 2007 33' Airstream trailer, the Model34 Lounge Classic with a slide out. It was into the last weeks of November, and I needed to be back in Los Angeles, CA in January. I dropped off the trailer on December 9th and instead of the substantial changes I originally wanted, I asked for was to have an inspection done on all the wiring, plumbing, pipes, etc. to ensure it was all good to go. I also asked for..... 1. The prior owner's stuff to be removed. These changes were to remove the analog stereo system that had large speakers, and the subwoofer taking up the kitchen's under-the-sink cabinet, and the removal of twin beds in the rear and replace with a queen bed which could lift up for storage underneath. 2. Removal of the old tube TV and replace with a more modern FireTV. 3. Installation of a Wingard unit, 4. A solar panel system to be installed, with the solar able to charge the home batteries in addition to its own separate battery system. 5. The tires to be replaced. 6. To check if the RV had hookup cables for phone / internet / cable TV, and if not have these installed. 7. A wireless backup camera installed in the rear of the RV which can hook into my truck using a cigarette lighter plugin. Deb the office manager emailed me on December 13th, they estimated to complete the work the following week. They did say they wanted my truck to be brought in so they could install the backup camera monitor, but I explained that isn't the type of unit I wanted installed. I received a quote that Monday on Dec 16th for the installation of the wireless camera, which I agreed to. By the middle of the week on the 18th I was contacted with pictures of black mold underneath the carpet of the beds and since the damage looked significant, I took the option presented to me by Bryan to have the flooring replaced. As this meant delays on getting the Airstream back to me, I decided that since it was going to be in their shop into January I might as well request them to do some of the other changes I had originally wanted but feared would take too long. I requested things such as the wallpaper to be replaced, the curtain railing upholstery to be replaced, and for the carpet in the front of the trailer to be replaced and match what was placed in the rear of the Airstream trailer after the flooring was replaced (since new carpet had to be laid anyway now). I asked for a more masculine look, like a gentleman's study or Classic Hollywood Art Decor style. I included a picture of such a study for a point of reference in what kind of colors and patterns I desired. I sent several followup emails to Bryan about this request, as my emails on Dec 18th didn't get replies. It was not until Jan 9th that I received a response, where Bryan suggested wooden flooring and Persian rugs to obtain the look specifically, but I explained I hate wooden floors and would prefer it to be carpeted. Bryan's response back was "carpet it is". Several weeks go by, and a few missed estimates for work completion happen.Jan 27th. I then discover on 29th that none of the interior changes to carpet, wallpaper or upholstery were being worked on done by them, "because it would require removing the pine cabinets". This was confusing to me, because it's not what he said 3 weeks ago. I thought "carpet it is" after the detailed discussion of what kind of look I wanted meant they were going to do that work. Frustrated with the delays and things not happening, I decided to pickup the trailer and just take as it was completed. The bed did not lift up, but instead is connected to outside storage drawers (which makes my stuff easier for thieves to steal FYI). The tailgate light connector that hooks into the truck was heavily damaged, like a forklight had ran it over. (They replaced this but it took 3 hours of waiting and wasn't discovered until after they hooked it up to my truck). They had lost my sewer dump hoses and stuck someone else's portable RV waste holding tank into my living room that was covered in crap. The analog stereo system hadn't been completely removed, subwoofer was still in the kitchen cabinet. The solar system was installed incorrectly and is unusuable, because AC from solar inverter is feeding into the AC inverter of the home battery system which will cause a fire. The furnace is infested with mud dauber nests and was obviously not inspected; totally unusuable. Wireless RV backup camera not installed either. I looked around the lot while waiting. Many client trailers not being worked on have doors sitting open, just knocking around in the wind and allowing animals to get inside. They don't seem to be attentive to detail and have no apologies for it. read more

It's with great pleasure that I write about my great experience with the service performed on my sleeper roof AC by Motivated RV's staff and Top Service on 06/16/2020. This family run business is the best I've ever experienced and here's why: My roof AC on my commercial vehicle sleeper had malfunctioned while working for the City of Austin, TX supporting the COVID19-National Emergency. When I contacted Bryan and at Motivated RV, was understanding ready to help us correct our problem in the most expedient way possible, despite the heavy workload his shop was under. Bryan and quickly assessed the issue with our unit got us a replacement roof AC (as ours was still under full warranty) installed and tested the new unit in minimum time, enabling us to return to our station in Austin, and continue our support for the City. This service was beyond great! You just don't find businesses on a consistent basis around the country that are as responsive to Professional Drivers (truckers), unique repair needs like Motivated RV responded to us. Bryan is most professional, understanding, and kind--attuned to the unique needs of a customer with extenuating circumstances. I most certainly recommend that anyone having a need to have any problem corrected on their RV or Commercial vehicle specialty Sleeper Straight Truck (RV on a straight truck frame) use the services of Motivated RV in Austin, Texas, hands down! We are so relieved to have found Motivated RV. Our airstream has a problem with its brakes and the local airstream dealer couldn't fit us in until October (for eight weeks!)! But Motivated RV was able to help us out right away and fixed the problem so we could get right back on the road. The team was super friendly and also gave us some tips on what generator to buy. Very professional and accommodating business. They guarantee to complete a short schedule simple brake check, when the big dealers on I35 were quoting 4 weeks no guarantee. Turned out the brakes needed no extra parts and did not charge. After all I used up their time and expected a nominal charge. They also accommodated the pick up schedule since I was not trilled to hitch and unhitch on a stormy day. When they say: Will call you with an update next morning, they actually do it. Thought I had delamination on the front cap of our travel trailer. Read all sorts of horror stories online about how much it would cost to fix. Looked online for a good repair place and found Motivated RV and gave them a call. Had to leave a message but first bonus points, they actually called me back. Talked to Brian who gave me a ballpark figure that was not cheap but not scary. So I made an appointment and drove the trailer out there. When I got there, much to my surprise, the blister across the front had mysteriously disappeared! Brian, climbed up and had a look and declared it solid. Could have just been a product of heat here in Austin lately. He went up on the roof and recaulked a small crack in the seam that might have been an issue and declared the roof in good shape. I also asked him if he could tighten the nut on the hitch ball. I didn't have a big enough wrench. He tried a wrench but couldn't get at it. So he came back with an air gun, a compressor, and a big socket. Job done. Brian then refused my offer of payment. "No big deal. Just give us a good review." So here I am. It's really hard to find a business like this these days. Good people doing good work. Motivated RV is now my go to for any repairs or maintenance on my trailer and I will be recommending them to my friends as well. Need work done on your RV? I stand by my original review. The repair did NOT have to be handled in the shop and WAS completed on site. Most satisfactorily. This company advertised mobile service before the first repair and agreed to come to my site and work with my extended service company to repair the valves to begin with. The issue is not how many service calls were made for the reasons as stated, although no trips were made to meet the inspector on site, because he complained that they were not there when he came to inspect. But all the excessive trips may be why they don't want to make another trip to my site. But they provided mobile service to make the repair, they should provide the same mobile service to return and cover their obligation under the 1 year warranty that was provided to me & to my extended service company; who would pay for the service call and the labor, since the failed parts would most probably be replaced under the manufacturer's warranty. It doesn't really matter whether it is the parts that are warranted, they don't work after only 6 months. And they won't work without being serviced or replaced. read more

Great shop and friendly. I am so glad I met Bryan, Susie and Debbie. If you are an RV owner, you know something ALWAYS breaks. It's no different than owning a boat, perhaps even worse in terms of durability....you are basically driving a house down the road everything you take it out. I've had my motorhome to Motivated two times now for self-inflicted injuries. In both instances, service was fast and done right. Pricing wise, I have no complaints. A number of months ago I contacted Bryan via email regarding a problem I was having with my slide dragging. I was getting ready to install hard flooring but needed this addressed first. He emailed me back that he was backed up about a month. I asked if I could bring it out to him and get a quote and we set up a time. When I got there and saw the size of his shop I asked if he also did bodywork as I was also getting insurance quotes for a fender bender I had had. He said he did, and would put in a quote. We discussed the slide problem and he said it would be anywhere between $50 to $500 depending on how it looked when they took it apart. He took some pics of the front end for the insurance quote, said he'd get back to me, turned around and walked away. After 2 weeks I sent him an email enquiring about the quotes, then sent another email and never heard a word back. Very very shoddy business in my opinion. After I went all the way out there. The funny thing is that the truck place that did quote, came in at almost 14 grand. And the slide work ended up costing $2000, so Motivated RV just pissed on 16 grand of business.
