I showed them the photo I brought in, the photo from the Ranch Hand website which was on the flyer in their show room. The older lady in the office proceeded to tell me that despite the fact the brochure which was right in front of her show differently that I was wrong. It has little to do with the bumper, quality or even how it was installed. It is 100% to do with the attitude of the staff, the lack of attention to detail Or willingness to admit they ordered the wrong part. To top it off they couldn't even figure out what the balance correctly. In the end it was a five dollar difference, but I was willing to pay it to leave and not have to deal with the worst customer service I've had in a while. You really have to want the bumper and have no other options to use Spillar. Make sure you get everything in writing, keep your paperwork, and dot the I's and cross the T's. No matter what, don't expect them to apologize if they screw up. Prologue: After reviewing the paperwork I realized they had even written it down, the way we had discussed it. I confronted them with this and told them they needed to make it right. It's hard to be a small business and turn a profit, I of all people understand that. An apology would've gone along way, a few hundred dollars discounted drastically changes my attitude. I have much higher hopes going into this

I would highly recommend this business. We were traveling through the area (1300 miles from home)…read moreand broke a shackle bolt on our 5th wheel camper. Two days before the holiday. This business most likely will be taking advantage of customers through deceptive pricing practices…read moreand excessive markups in several ways: 1. Excessive Markups Beyond Industry Norms While a reasonable markup on parts is expected, marking up parts by 100% to 200%--especially when parts are widely available at lower prices--can be exploitative. Luxury vehicle owners may be particularly vulnerable because they expect higher costs but may not realize they are being charged far beyond fair market value. 2. False or Inflated Charges Some shops may add unnecessary fees, such as: Non-existent parts or labor: Charging for components that were never replaced or for work that was never performed. "Shop supplies" fees: A vague charge for basic materials (rags, bolts, etc.) that should already be factored into labor costs. Duplicate labor charges: Charging multiple times for labor that was already covered under another line item. 3. Misrepresenting Parts as OEM or Premium A shop might install cheaper aftermarket parts but charge the customer as if they were getting expensive OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts. In some cases, used or refurbished parts may be billed at full new part prices. 4. Taking Advantage of Insurance Claims When insurance is paying, a shop may inflate prices, knowing the customer is not paying out of pocket. Some repair shops bill insurers for high-end parts while installing lower-cost alternatives. 5. Lack of Pricing Transparency Some businesses avoid sharing part costs with customers, making it hard for them to compare prices. Without itemized invoices, customers may not realize they are being overcharged. How Customers Can Protect Themselves Request a breakdown of parts and labor costs before authorizing repairs. Compare part prices online or call multiple shops for quotes. Ask for old parts back to verify replacements were actually made. Check reviews and complaints about the shop, especially regarding pricing issues. By combining excessive markups with deceptive billing, a shop can extract far more money than is fair, turning what should be a standard repair into a financial burden for the customer.

    * Make sure you read what we found out at the second diagnostic somewhere else at the end of this…read more We brought in our RV with brakes issues. They told us it would be $100 an hour for diagnostic. We agreed and asked for a diagnostic on our brakes. We were the only ones there and over an hour later they gave us a quote for over $2000 for brakes. Grand total was $3,600 with batteries, shock and emergency break. (Additional items they felt needed to be replaced) Meanwhile, I was on the phone calling places and quoted 1/2 that price for our brakes. We told AR&W that it was out of our budget and we wanted them to put our tires back on. The tech said, "if we let you leave and you have a wreck, you can sue us." Did he think that would work on us??? All we thought was SCAM! I told him that was untrue and he replied, "you know how things are these days." **Insert major eye roll! They then came back and offered to do it for $600 less because they suddenly found "cheaper parts". We again asked that they put the tires back on so we could go. They huddled around a desk in the back talking and my husband walked back AGAIN and said, we need to go! Now over 2 hours later and we are still waiting to go. We only came here because we stopped somewhere else that didn't work on brakes and they gave us the business card for this place. I should have pulled up their reviews on google first. A couple walked in and overheard my husband and I talking and the wife said, "we only come here because my husband's employer pays for it. You should go somewhere else. They have a bad reputation." We left there and went to AMCO on hwy 123 in San Marcos. Nick quickly returned and said, everything is fine except that we had a busted break line. $484 later and we are back on the road with zero issues. AR&W attempted to scam, bully and mislead us. AAMCO was professional, quick and affordable.

Left a message asking him to please call me. Another month goes by and it's late October. No answer. Left another message. Another month and start calling weekly. Finally his wife calls me back. They're looking for parts. I tell them where to get them and offer to help if they would rather I get them. No she says. We have our own suppliers. I say ok. When can I expect the bus to be ready. She said she'll call me the following Monday and let me know. Two more months pass. I finally get a call from Alyson. Come get your bus. We don't have time to fix it. The only good thing! She says I owe nothing for what they've done. And it wasn't much. And the one new leveler they installed on the passenger side came off this past Thursday and my bus hit the ground in less than 30 seconds. I didn't know what it was at the time. I just knew it was in the middle of the road blocking traffic. Five hours and 375.00 later the County Sheriff had it towed less than a mile. The wrecker driver discovered the problem while he had the rearend of the bus lifted. He fixed it while he had it up for no charge. The $375 was the County charge. He said the bolt came out that was holding it. Didn't know how unless they left the nut and washer off of it at Jobsite Diesel Repair! Sorry but I would never take anything to these people. Just my 2 cents plus $375 tow bill.
