I've lived at Windsor at Aviara for almost two years now and am truly in love with this place. Our first impression of Windsor was that it was obviously beautiful, well taken care of, and the people were gracious and friendly, and still after two years here they continue to exceed our expectations. I'd like to write a review to speak to my extremely positive experience living here, as it seems many people write reviews only when there's an issue or complaint. To be honest, I actually find some negative reviews here hard to believe that they're talking about the same place. This is one of the most lovely communities to live in in the area--and we did quite a bit of research when moving to Carlsbad. The community itself is beautiful and it feels more like a resort than an apartment complex. They take care to make the landscaping lush and green at every turn. The pool is sparkling and clean and surrounded by pretty lighted palm trees. There's so much attention to detail! Our apartment (one of the smaller ones) has vaulted ceilings and is new and bright with white cabinets and nice touches; it feels big and spacious. All apartments have a washer/dryer, which is of course a big plus. Parking is plentiful, too. After a long day at work, it's so nice to come home to a community like this and instantly feel "ahh..." relaxed. My boyfriend and I are in our early 30s, and while at first I worried that we might be somewhat younger than the average tenant here, there are actually many young families who live here. We've become good friends with our neighbors who are all friendly. We really like the staff, too. Stan, our maintenance man, was great (he just retired) and any time we had a maintenance request he'd be by to fix it right away (there seemed to be nothing he couldn't do). There are also some great trails right outside the community that we've discovered as well. While cost of rent might be a bit higher than other communities in Carlsbad, you really get what you pay for. Aviara is an upscale, beautiful area, and to us, for the ease of living, convenience, and how pleasant our life has been here, it's worth it. We live in a place we don't want to take a vacation from, because we feel on vacation all the time here. If you're considering moving to Windsor, I recommend coming to tour the community in person, and not base any judgments simply on the reviews. You have to see it for yourself. 5 whole-hearted stars from us! read more

I've been living here since August and I love it. The staff is very helpful and friendly, the complex is clean and well maintained and it's in a beautiful area. They always plan fun events for the residents - pizza night, brunch, happy hour, BBQ, etc. Pros Great area Gated Washer and Dryers Dishwashers Friendly staff Prompt maintenance Clean Cons They run out of dog clean up bags The trash area does get over filled read more

I have lived here for a few years. I moved in for the amenities including: heated pool, movie theater, fitness room and a quiet environment. Iv'e yet to see one. I truly wanted the best community for myself and my dying mother. The amount of times that I have complained of loud noises, nosy neighbors, trash never picked up, loud and rambunctious pool parties and quite honestly rudest staff is obscene. Windsor is a disgrace to Aviara. read more

So, I'm not going to write this as a resident, but as an "almost" resident. My wife and I frequently move (11 times in the last 17 years)...and "yes" we are a bit crazy. We have a new grandchild coming, so we decided to go back to Carlsbad. We have become apartment people and enjoy the apartment lifestyle. We considered Windsor, even as late as 2am last night (It's 6am right now), but we are going a different direction. It has to do with specific geography, not the complex itself. The units (not just the models) are nice, the amenities appear to be excellent. And the overall community has a air of comfortableness. And the interior design is great. The 5 stars is for Anjanette Corso, who did an EXCELLENT job walking us through the property and showing us what the opportunities were. She got back to us when we were facing a time crunch ...and went the extra mile. I am in the people business and I appreciate a person who puts effort into the experience for others... If it goes the wrong direction for where we are going, we will coming back to Windsor of Aviara and we will be getting in touch with Anjanette...and we won't have any reservations about it. Blessings on your journeys...for those who read this. I hope it helps! (: read more

Thank you so much Windsor at Aviara community for giving us a wonderful, comfy home! Everyone here is so nice and if you have a maintenance request you get taken care of right away! Never want to leave this place read more

I'd have to say that staying here at Windsor at Aviara was the best move we've made! We've lived there for a year and a half until my husband and I bought a home. We were new to the area so we decided to rent first until we got familiar with the community/city. We've looked around many other apartments throughout Carlsbad, Vista, and San Marcos and none grab our attention till we found Windsor. What I'm going to miss about that place is all the amenities they had to offer! All appliances are included, separate bathtub and shower in master bedroom, the theatre room, game room, gym, the parties/get together the office has every month, the clean pool, the staff and friends we've made! Where we were at, there was hardly no noise at all! The landscaping outside our windows reminded me of being out in Yosemite National Park. Very beautiful. I would definitely refer any of my friends to live there! A special Thanks to Perry and his maintenance crew who has gone beyond the call of duty when something needed to be fixed or replaced, it was done quick! The three ladies I've had the pleasure of knowing...Jolene and Karina (at the office) and even Elizabeth (the postal delivery lady) :) The only complaint I have is the owners of pets needs to abide by the rules to pick up after their pet! It's not the fault of this office for pet owners negligence! As many times the office reminds people via email, they still continue to ignore the problem of picking up. I strongly urge neighbors to report these people to the office. Overall, it is the Best place to live! read more

My Daughters and I love living here! Super pool area with BBQ, and don't forget the 18 seat movie room! Perry and Ron in maintenance are always prompt and courteous. Anjanette and Jolene in the office are super helpful and friendly as well. We have lived here going on 3 years and couldn't be happier. read more

I'm proud to call Windsor at Aviara my home. The 5 star rating is especially extended to Anjanette Corso. From the moment I stepped onto the property, Anjanette warmly greeted me, and provided exceptional hospitality. She took the time to really listen to what I wanted in an apartment. She was happy to tour many of the model homes with me to ensure I selected the right accommodation. Due to Anjanette's hard work, relocating from Northern California was seamless. I really could not have done it without her. Windsor at Aviara is a beautiful place to reside. The amenities i.e., exercise facility, billiard room, home theatre, BBQ grills, heated pool and jacuzzi are terrific. If you require recommendations for outside entertainment or shopping, Anjanette is the right person to ask. She is always happy to offer new ideas and options. I'm happy to call Windsor at Aviara my home. When you arrive, I believe you will too. read more

Thank you to all the employees from Christine to Cole to Lauren and more for making our first couple years to California a great one. We are from Minne(SNOW)ta and the area and amenities has made us true Californians. Every time I go into the Windsor at Aviara office, I see everyone hard at work. From the new leasers to the to the ones that have been here for years I see the employees meets all of their needs. The parties are great as well hosted by the Windsor! read more

Scheduled a tour to view a 2 bedroom. Very responsive and attentive from that first communication. When I showed up at the allotted time, I was greeted by Paula. She was very helpful and informative. It was clear she had prepared for our appointment and had all materials ready and available to explain the clear tour path, community amenities, and locations of the apartment homes. The community is gorgeous, with luxurious garden tubs, in home washer & dryer, backsplashes that enhance the modern kitchen, and well laid out floorplans. We ended up deciding on a different area of San Diego to call home, but with Paula's warmth and knowledge sales approach made it a tough choice! read more

This was a terrible place to live. First of all, you never know what's gonna be your actual living space. They only showed a model house and once I've signed up and moved in, realized that there was a 24 hour noise coming from all across the floor with vibration. Literally I've lived on a vibrated floor with some "zzzz" noice all day. So, I've complained about this to the leasing office and they said the maintenance peope fixed it easily but it was not. I could hear and feel the noice and vibration all the time, and the maintenance has tried to fix it but they never did. So, I've decided to move out after 2 weeks, but the leasing office staff and manager told me that I have to pay a penalty (one month payment), it was ridiculous but I just paid the penalty because I didn't want to waste my time on this anymore. The worst place and worst staff and manager ever! read more

Update: My issues with pest control were addressed quickly and we have not had any issues since. Landscaping was cut back and I believe it is helping. We had issues with our dryer and Windsor went above and beyond, replacing our dryer AND washer with a brand new set, which is incredible generous, and dare I say, luxurious?! Like with any community, there will be things you find unsatisfactory here, but on the whole, this is the best community we've lived in. Christine and Ron are all-stars at Windsor, too. Christine handles all inquiries and complaints gracefully and respectfully. We're grateful to live here and don't plan to leave! A quick message to pet parents, though: Pick up after your dogs! There are bags (and waste receptacles!) provided for us all throughout the complex. It's not hard. read more

We had a 5STAR experience at Windsor, Cole was fantastic, very patient with all our questions and helped us understand the ins and outs of Windsor. He kept in touch with us well before we could move in and then was so helpful to adjust from a 2bd to a 3bd for us at the last minute. We stayed 5 months then paid the 60 day fees to break our 9 month lease as we purchased a home. All through our process, there were no surprises, staff are absolutely fantastic. Given these are apartments you may hear stuff from time to time, but everyone tries their best to be considerate... Windsor hosts events also for the community so that we all get to meet each other and feel more like a home. Many residents have pets, as did we, and our pet loved living at Windsor too. Maintenance issues were responded to quickly (thank you Jesse!). My husband and I highly recommend Windsor! read more

My family and I lived at Windsor while some work was being done on our home. Christine Chase and the entire management staff treated us very professionally. Christine explained our options, defined our move in process and our exit process. The entire staff outlined the rules and regulations for living in the complex. The unit we rented was clean, comfortable and modern and perfect for the needs we had at the time. The rent was market based and in alignment with what we expected for the neighborhood. I would highly recommend this as a rental location for short, medium or long term needs. read more

Perry is awesome! He was such an incredible help when my toilet started leaking! He fixed the leak with great kindness and courtesy. I definitely recommend his services without hesitation! read more

Final update to my Windsor posts.....After less than 3 weeks, the move out process is complete and we received our deposit refund. It was absolutley fair and timely. I am not surprised as every aspect of our time there was very much up to standards and expectations. Again, highly recommended. Thank You again Christine, Lauren and entire Windsor team!!! read more

I moved form San Diego up to the North County area. Windsor has been here for awhile. It actually was home to a friend of mine before. First place I looked when moving up here. Quiet community, clean and well maintained and staff is awesome. Location is perfect for the most part. I do recommend you check it out for yourself. read more

The Good My wife and I have lived at Windsor Aviara for the last 18 months. We have a 2 bedroom 2 bath, upstairs unit. We are moving out at the end of the month. I am writing this review before dealing with any moving out issues - which I hope we do not have any :-) Overall a beautiful property. Very quiet. Amenities are outstanding. We used the movie theater quite a few times. The pool is awesome and feels totally like a resort. There is always plenty of parking. We paid for 2 extra covered parking spots - just because we wanted a guaranteed covered spot. That worked out beautifully - we never had an issue with someone parking in our spot. The actual apartment was great. We almost never heard any neighbors. Our front door goes to a hallway, so while you hear footsteps every once in a while, it does create a nice barrier between what is normally another neighbor wall. We love that the apartments are contained within a hallway, much like an indoor hotel. We have an attached garage and that has been great. The garage is a very decent size and we had plenty of extra room for storage even with our car inside. There is electricity in the garage, which is great. Hot water is free - we discovered that nice perk by calling the water company and inquiring about a break down of our costs. Utilities overall were reasonable. We keep our thermostat at 74 degrees and the electric bill averages around $125-140. It could be as low as $85 if you never turned on the heat or air conditioner. The management has always been very polite and available. We had one or two maintenance request problems, but those were due to communication errors. Maintenance did a very good job fixing problems and they were very professional. We have a small dog and for the most part the complex is "Doody-Free". However, there are relatively few grassy areas as most of the complex is a cement jungle. We do wish there were more grassy areas or a nice dog park. But never had any real complaints regarding other pets or their owners. Everyone seems to be good dog/cat owners, using their leashes and picking up after their pets. It was a rare occasion when we saw otherwise. The Bad The only real complaint we have, which is the only reason we did not give a full 5-stars, is the rising cost of rent and an unfortunate scenario that literally required us to either move out or rent a different unit. At renewal we were told our unit needed to be remodeled and we would not be able to renew for another 12 months. We could only get up to a 6 month lease and then we had to move out. This was, obviously, unexpected and very inconvenient. We liked our unit and had not planned on moving out anytime soon. Even moving to another equal unit would not have worked as the difference in cost would have been about $470 more per month and did not come with an attached garage. That is a 22% increase in the cost of rent, not including the extra $50 we pay for 2 covered parking spots and $60 in pet rent. We opted for a 5 month renewal for an extra $177 per month or roughly 8.5% increase in rent. Honestly, we read the reviews here on Yelp! before moving in an expected a 10% rent increase at renewal. Getting what you expect is half the battle - so being forced to move into a much more expensive unit was a battle loss for Windsor Aviara. We were not happy about that. After 4 months passed we were informed we could renew for another 3 months, but that renewal came with another $200 rent increase - or an additional 8.7% in rent. That really put a nail in the Aviara coffin. That would equal paying an extra 17% in rent in under 2 years. Instead, we opted to move to a different apartment complex - Monarch at Shadowridge in Vista. Rents at Monarch are comparable to Windsor, if not a hundred or two cheaper - but the apartment and complex are actually even more impressive. That is saying a lot, because Windsor is impressive already. However, nothing beats South Carlsbad - so we still feel we were robbed of our beautiful location. Vista, even south of the freeway 78, is not comparable to South Carlsbad. Moving? We do see moving out horror stories for Windsor on Yelp. We sincerely hope that is not the case for us. If all goes well I plan to amend this review to let everyone know at least one success story for moving out of Windsor. However, if we run into major problems - obviously concerning our deposit and any additional money required beyond - we will report that on Yelp. Honestly, we understand most luxury apartment complexes charge cleaning fees - almost no matter what you do. If it costs us $400-500 from our deposit, we will be totally okay with that. But anything more and we might have to add to The Bad column. Overall I highly recommend Windsor Aviara apartments. You get what you pay for. Even with 8-10% yearly rent increases, we would have gladly stayed here. Beautiful complex, very nice management, very nice neighbors. And we cannot speak more highly for the location. read more

Just curious if I'm gonna pay almost $2,000 dollars to live in an apartment, and they except pets why do these apartments have carpeting, why not the whole apt built with hardwood or Laminent considering so many people now own pets?more and more apartments these days don't even use carpet or there getting away from it, carpet is dirty no matter how many times you vacuum it collects dirt, dust mites, fleas, and underneath crap that you can't see and it's horrible for people with allergies &asthma ?curious read more

Our family has lived here for 2 years and we absolutely LOVE it here! The units are recently renovated and the finishes are beautiful and luxurious. We first lived in a 1 bedroom that had a townhouse feel (2 levels). High vaulted ceilings, crown molding, granite counter-tops in both the kitchen and bathrooms, wood floors in the bathrooms and kitchens, carpet on living & bedrooms. Top of the line stainless steel appliances. The master bathroom was super spacious and the double sinks are a marriage saver! ;) This past October we had decided to move to Encinitas so I could be closer to my work, but that other place was quickly a nightmare. With less than 24 hrs notice, Anjanette helped us move in to the largest 2 bedroom w/garage. I was a huge stress mess and Anjanette took care of us with grace and care. She was able to get us in to a new home quickly and without any red tape or hassle. She literally helped take the stress of our hearts. We are more than stoked on the amount of space and a bit different layout with wood floors throughout (no carpet), beautiful white quarts counter tops and dark wood cabinets. The amenities here are well kept and always clean - hot tub, large heated pool, lots of pool deck furniture complete with huge gas bbq's and a beautiful glass fire-pit. The gym has more than the basic equipment, we had a trainer come to us and she was quite impressed with the tools at hand. There is a billiards room AND a media room you can reserve. The club house is huge with a gorgeous fire place, large kitchen, a reading den and an office you can use with a couple of computers and printing needs. But above all, the staff is absolutely AMAZING. Everyone is friendly, answers questions in a timely manner and informative. Christine, Anjanette & Jolene (leasing office) keep the community up to date with in-community happenings, as well as the surrounding neighborhood. Their communications are always kind, even when they are "gentle reminders" to residents regarding cleaning up after their dogs, not parking in reserved spaces, and no smoking on grounds. I for one appreciate these communications. They also plan a lot of community events such as annual holiday/summer gatherings, trick or treating for the littles, often have bagels, cupcakes and raffles "just because", and arrange FOOD TRUCKS to come. I recently came home to a birthday card & candy on my front door! What other rental community does that?! Ron & Perry are quick to resolve work orders and again, always friendly. The grounds staff work hard to keep the foliage beautiful. Overall, this is literally the best place I've ever lived. It really feels like a community & a safe place to call home. If anyone has complaints about Windsor - they probably have complaints about everything in their life! If you appreciate friendly staff, beautiful living quarters and top notch amenities - then this place is for you. read more

Rented a 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit, bottom floor, renovated unit for six months (paid early termination fee due to job). PROs: -beautiful location -extensive amenities: hot tub, pool, 24hr full gym with new equipment -friendly office staff, never had an issue with them -super clean, dog poop issue is something I've noticed sporadically, but that is a tenant problem not a problem with the property. They provide trails and plastic bags for owners to clean up dog poop so if tenants are irresponsible then I feel it is unfair to throw the property under the bus for this definitive First World Problem type of whining from reviewers below. -online service requests are easy, every problem I've requested has been fixed -no bug issue, if there are any bugs send in service request and they will respray -all new appliances, stainless steel Whirlpool -drawer type freezer is a boon -fireplace -porch -central air -washer/dryer in unit is amazing, never had an apartment with this amenity before -beautiful textured off white carpet, faux wood floors in kitchen, entryway, and bathrooms are pretty and waterproof, easy clean up -separate shower and bath in master bathroom with double sinks -no noise from units on either side, good sound proofing on the sides -open parking, never had a problem finding a spot -gated community with remote entry and buzz-in capability for friends that forwards to your cell phone -online rent payment with autopay set up so you can not be hit with the late fees complained about below -open kitchen is amazing, great space -nice track lighting in dining room -extensive closet space, two walk in closets CONs: -extensive noise from the floor above us, creaking and water pipe noise. However, I kindly asked our upstairs neighbors to quite running around their unit past midnight and the issue seems to be resolved for now. So much poorer sound deadening between floors. -even with updated appliances, the stove is still electric coil which is annoying but it gets the job done and I can't really complain anymore, just used to cooking on gas -someone mentioned poor cell service, which isn't really the fault of this property, again that is something out of control of Windsor. However, I simply called up Verizon and explained to them my poor signal issue and received a femtocell in the mail for free that boosts the signal. No more issue. -not enough recycling space causes an overflow in the garbage collection walled off area, that is a bit annoying but overall the trash collection gets it all done so if they aren't complaining then I don't feel that I have a right to complain **UPDATE** After posting this review management quadrupled the amount of recycling bins for our quad area. Thank you!! -we had ongoing issues with our cats getting roundworms about once a month. I don't own a dog, and this happens only from flea eggs digested by the cat. Since this was a brand new unit, I assumed the carpet was immaculate and couldn't be the culprit. But after I moved out of this apartment, my cats have never got roundworms since. So unfortunately, somehow during renovation, the new carpet installed must have sat in some dingy warehouse and become infested with fleas and then installed in the unit. We were the first tenants with the new carpet, so it could not be leftover from previous dog owning renters. -lastly, we had an issue with management after the Poinsettia wildfires, which destroyed some of this complex. We did not have smoke damage, so declined the extensive cleaning of the unit they offered. About a few weeks later, we had to move out due to job changes and paid an early termination fee. They did a walk-through of our unit and determined our carpet would need extensive cleaning and would make us lose our security deposit. Again, this carpet was brand new and we only lived there for 6 months. We are not disgusting people, so this carpet's normal amount of staining is apparently enough so that EVERY tenant that will ever live in the renovated units with this carpet will be losing their security deposit because it stains so easily with minimal wear. We asked about utilizing the smoke damage clean we were offered to cover this carpet cleaning so we wouldn't lose our security deposit. Nope they said. So we got to pay an early termination fee of the lease AND lose security deposit. THANKS A LOT :DDDD read more

We moved into the Windsor in July of this year and worked exclusively with Victoria (who is phenomenal by the way). She took the time to answer all our questions and was extremely attentive and responsive during the entire process. Even after we moved in she continued to stay in contact with us to ensure everything had gone well with our move. Very customer orientated and one of the best experiences I've had in dealing with apartment management. The Windsor property itself is also very nice. Our apartment was newly remodeled and we couldn't be happier with the layout and quality of the apartment. The neighborhood is beautiful and next to highly rated schools as well as a gigantic park. It's ideally located and central to everything in Carlsbad. The amenities are top notch and include a gym, pool, and movie center. It's very quiet and I would definitely recommend for families. read more

Living here for about a year now....building it self is nice...location is great...bit on expensive side...great if you have a pet...but if you don't....it's hell. Management is quick to collect any penalty (even half day late rent = $50 penalty) but they do NOTHING to enforce doggie poo everywhere. I live on the first floor and they pee & poo right infront of my little pathway from parking lot to my patio. If you do not have pet, I will go somewhere else. If you do have pet, please have a common courtesy to clean up after your dog. If you are management, be fair and penalize both late payments and dog owners not cleaning up after their dogs...now that's fair. read more

very nice and clean houses, this is our 5th year and we're so excited!! Lauren at the office is amazing and very helpful

The property management is unorganized and inflexible. They also don't respond back quickly, in fact I had to follow up multiple times with several concerns. They always seem to refer you to someone else who never happens to call you back. The apartment is expensive and small. The only good thing is it is a gated community that isn't out of date. The cell phone reception is aweful too since the apartment complex is built in a ditch. There is a lot of dogs and a lot of dog poo that is left around. I wouldn't recommend living here. The list goes on... For the money, I'd definitely go elsewhere, unless you like paying a lot for a all this "luxury"... read more

I AM NOT A RESIDENT. THIS REVIEW IS BASED ON THE PHONE CALL ALONE. I called to get a quote on whatever available one bedrooms they have. I already looked on the website and saw that the range of rents for the one bedroom was $1,500-$2,200 a month. Quite a range. I was hoping that over the phone, Windsor would be able to tell me EXACTLY WHEN and WHAT apartment(s) were coming available and HOW MUCH they would be renting for. This is apparently a common sense inquiry that they are not prepared to answer. After asking me what my move in date is, if I am familiar with the area, why I'm moving, and a few other seemingly inane questions I asked if they could please just tell me WHAT apartment was available IF ANY and how much the rent would be. I was told that could be discussed on my visit and that the range was between $1,500-$2,200. Since I am literate, I told the woman I had already seen THE RANGE on the website and could she please tell me what was available and HOW MUCH THE RENT WAS. She again reiterated that would be discussed during my visit and could I come in at 11:30 today. (An hour from now.) Am I buying a used car? (What if I went in there and told them my monthly income RANGED from $3,200 a month to $11,200 a month????!!!) I told her I wouldn't waste my time and thanks very much. Every apartment community that I have ever had contact with was able to tell me WHAT UNITS were coming available and HOW MUCH RENT they charged for said units. Why would I waste my time going over there if they can't even tell me if anything is available???!!! An $8,000 monthly difference in rent is kind of something you don't want to waste your time on. Thanks anyway. read more

Just moved in to building 10. Definitely an upgrade from our past spot. Jolene was very helpful to land the place and parking spots. Thanks for being so welcoming! read more

Wish I could give higher, but I can't. The property is okay, a bit dated for my taste and the units themselves are not well maintained. Bathrooms are dated, old fixtures that aren't really cleaned well between tenants. My unit has an old shower and an older tub that both are stained. Kitchen is okay, but nothing cutting edge. Having a washer and dryer in unit is good, but I have had issues with the washer messing up my clothes because they are lower budget top loading machines. The neighbor I had downstairs banged on the wall every time we walked, which either meant the walls are so thin she could hear everything or she was just crazy -- either way who needs it. The management team was awful and made sure I didn't get any money back from my deposit. Overall, if I could have given negative stars I would! read more

This property is wonderful. I ave lived in serveral apartment communities and this one is tops. The office staff is friendly, professional and fair and the community is beautiful, well maintained and in a fabulous location. Ofcourse all rents are high in So Cal, and you might be able to save a few bucks by craigslisting a private owner condo but it isn't worth the it! This place is safe and clean and has everything you would want in a luxary apartment community for 3 months to 3 years. I recommend it to all my friends! read more

Great apartments, great location, great amenities. Staff is professional and attentive, the entire place is well maintained and really a great property. I have lived here for over 6 months and absolutely love it. Jolene and all of the management staff have been super helpful. The maintenance requests are responded to very promptly and with urgency. Beautiful complex, very safe, and is fantastic for walking and running in the neighborhood and nearby trails. The apartments are well taken care of, and very clean. My only feedback is the walls can be thin for noise, but is really not a huge concern because the complex is overall very quiet especially compared to others. I will be having to relocate to another apartment complex due to relocation of work, however it's awesome that Windsor allows you to transfer your leases to other locations if needed. By far my favorite place I have lived! Thanks Windsor! read more

My wife, teenage son and I have been living here for 4 years. We have been very fortunate to have great nsighbors and management team. Seriously over 4 years you meet a lot of folks. We have been blessed that way. I understand that these reviews should reflect ones personal experience. But they should also stay in context, for instance the issue with people picking up after their dogs is clearly not the managements responsibility. It is clearly stated in the lease! It is no ones responsibility except the one walking the dog! And that the maintenance staff still goes around a couple times a week to pick up after those who are inconsiderate is above and beyond. We have had a pet the whole time and never once not pick up after her. Yes the apartments are in need of being upgraded and so hey they are doing it! No later than most of the other apt complexes in Carlsbad. We have looked at 90 percent of the apt properties in Carlsbad, Aviara is one of the nicest we have seen. If u want to live in Carlsbad with all the amenities Aviara offers you are going to pay a bit more period. Like it or not supply and demand rules, and I would rather be somewhere comfortable and happy than paying the same and be unhappy. We have learned over the years that if you treat people the way you want to be treated most of the time you have great experiences. There are always Pros and Cons. Outside of the standard fair of complaints (which u can find anywhere, every property listed has the same) the only additional con for us is have to move out eventually so they can renovate out unit. We would even consider coming back once it is done! Yes I can list the cons, but there are plenty listed. If you are truly looking for a great place to live in Carlsbad Apartment life then I will say Aviara is one of the top 2 in the area, hands down. If you are bargin hunting then this is not the place for you (Corporate will make sure of that with increases) but be prepared anywhere else the cons list will get much longer. SPECIAL THANKS! To the CORE Management team for last four years, include CHRISTINE, CINDY, PERRY, STAN & Eric! Newest members KARINA & JOLEEN we truly appreciate your sincer personal attention to your jobs! CORPORATE DID GOOD BY YOU! Thank You Aviara. read more

Five stars to the management and maintenance team @ Windsor. We never experienced any problems which weren't promptly addressed by Jolene, Perry or any staff member. Thanks for providing a great place to live this past year.... We're going to miss You and San Diego!!! Rudy H. read more

Yes the poop is an issue and the pricing is a little crazy for being luxury but the staff is fairly friendly and the pool area is nice as well as the gym, theater and billiards room. Our upstairs neighbors are crazy noisey at night and no matter how many times ive said something to the staff it hasnt changed its very very irritating when i wanna sleep and i cant till 12am.(my neighbors have complained about their upstairs neighbors as well). So far that ive seen its a really friendly community almost like a family. Although for a non smoking community there sure is a lot of smokers. And I'm sorry but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. A complaint I've heard from 100 percent of people that have rented here as said they do not get their deposit back. read more
