Anyone who gave a one star is full of crap. The rooms are large, rent is fairly priced, neighbors are awesome (except the ones who park on the freshly painted fire zones). The staff is more than accomidating and were so friendly every encounter I had with them. Maintenance crew worked hard and fixed any issue fast and efficiently. Maybe I kept my place clean which is why bugs were never an issue for me. I highly recommend living here, the only reason i moved out was for personal reasons, and nothing to do with the property or staff. read more

After applying and searching over 20 different apartment complexes after covid my family finally found this as our place to call home. Odessa in the main office was so helpful and made the transition so easy for us. (She is also super sweet and I can go to her for anything). We moved in early May and we have had 0 issues. The few times we did need something the Maitenence men were on it within a half hour. AJ and Mike do an amazing job they are out there every day fixing whatever needs to be done they are some of the hardest workers I've ever met and still have time to stop and ask us almost daily if everything is going well. I could never put into words how thankful we are thankful we are to have such a great staff taking care of us and I will always recommend to anyone we know looking for a place! read more

I recently moved out the end of october with my family after our lease ended and I can agree that this place doesn't look the way it does in the pictures. Maintenance men are great gentlemen but lack to get the work done. My house was squeaky clean but our upstairs neighbors were extremely messy and I feel like the roaches traveled everywhere and were impossible to get rid of. Connie asked me to review the apartments after recently running into each other after the backlash from the negative review. My roommate and I moved here from Oregon, and took a gamble with choosing Las Ventanas. We never got to see the units or meet the staff until we moved in. I have nothing but great things to say about this community! The front office, as well as maintenance and other employees were so kind, friendly, and welcoming! Although Vista may not be the nicest area in San Diego, Las Ventanas works very hard to make their renters feel safe, happy, and keep their property looking very clean and nice. It's a great place for families, couples, or singles! Lots of nice grass patches, clean community pool & BBQ, very nice laundry room and locked gate for security. Highly recommend for anybody looking to live in the North San Diego area! read more

Nonexistence maintenance staff, new Manager does NOT care about the Residence OR Property.I have moved out and em still fighting to get my deposit back. I broke my lease because they would not take care of a roach problem they didn't even care that they moved me into a roach problem. Save the long nights of hating your lease and location. I have lived here since October 2015. I was so grateful to find an apartment complex that allows pets, has a washer/dryer in some units, has assigned parking, and all at a price I could afford! The complex is quiet and neighbor's are friendly. We have a laundry room, pool, and small play area for children. The gates are closed and locked 24/7, which makes me feel safe. Management is great at communicating about construction or inspections and quick to work with me on any issue I have. The location is perfect too since it's only a block from a grocery store and 1mi from old downtown vista and the 78. I'm glad I chose Las Ventanas! read more

People never pick up after their dogs; there is dog poop on all the grass, no notices have been issued, the bushes haven't been trimmed so there are bees swarming everywhere, parking is now assigned where there is no roof! So I now have to park my car outside where it can be broken into or stolen!!! ugh read more

these apartments are a FREAKIN JOKE. management is nothing but a joke as well. first things first, the ROACHES. DISGUSTING. supposedly they fumigate every apartment before someone moves in but yet there's a TON of them. I had to hire a separate pest control facility because the one that's provided by the apartments SUCK. & to top it off they don't even reimburse you for it! second, management is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, asking their own tenats to borrow money to pay their own rent ! ridiculous. & to top it off their "after hours emergencies line" sucks too, you literally have to be flooded in your own house with the kitchen on fire in order for it to be considered an emergency. they don't offer keys for the rooms / bathrooms due to the weird doorknobs they installed on the doors, so if you get locked out of your own room or bathroom , guess what? NOT AN EMERGENCY, it can wait til tomorrow (: not to mention it also takes about 5-10 business days for maintenance to come & fix stuff too . SAVE YOUR MONEY & FIND A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE , few more months until my lease is over & I'M OUTTAA HERE. read more

Ugh! You definitely get what you pay for. We moved here because it was cheap but it is cheap and crappy. This place is way more hassle than it is worth. Don't even bother, live anywhere but here! People outside the complex have annoyingly loud parties late into the night all the time. Everything has been awful for us. The washer and dryer suck, take forever to clean the clothes and then they're still wet when they come out of the dryer or it shrinks your clothes. The complex has stands for doggy bags but they're always empty so they don't provide doggy bags to pick up dogs poop and poop gets left in the grass. The floor has weak spots so when you walk across the floor it creaks. They say they have air conditioner but it's just a swamp cooler in the living room that shuts off all the time. I could go on but you get the idea. read more

RUN! RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! It was hell for me and my wife for the 1 MONTH we were there! First off let me tell you we had a scheduled date to move in given to us by Vanessa. They called us about 2 days before saying it wont be ready for Friday. Mind you i had already ask for the day off but we were ok with that because mind you we are VERY humble people. On move in day the apartment wasn't even ready until 3PM! Which was ok with us because we are super humble. Upon move in day there were cockroaches and i pointed it out to Vanessa and she said she would get someone to spray. That night we killed over 50+ cockroaches IM NOT EVEN JOKING ABOUT THAT! The washer and dryer did not work the whole time we were there. They sent the maintenance guy so many times we actually became friends. Now let me get back to the roach infestation. So Vanessa never got back to us about the guy coming into spray in our apartment. So we gave her a call on a Friday and she said she would get back to us. NEVER DID. Now Monday morning comes and my wife calls Vanessa at 930AM and she said the guy was coming in at 10AM. Thanks for not telling us in advance we had dishes in the cabinets food in the pantry and my wife goes to work at 10AM. Vanessa said its fine if we leave stuff out like dishes and stuff. So my wife calls out of work last minute because Vanessa never told us they were coming. Oh yea i forgot to mention we also have a dog so we had no idea where we going to leave him. So my wife is trying to put dishes away and the guy comes and tells my wife he cant do anything because we have stuff out after Vanessa said it will be ok. Days go by me and my wife are watching a movie and we hear something in the kitchen moving around. I get up to look and what do i find? A MICE. Yes a MICE. So we told Vanessa and she wasn't even surprised that we found it. The mice would come out when we weren't home and would leave feces in out oven, counters, and and stove. Oh yea it was also living inside our oven somewhere. So me and my wife are done. We emailed the company on 11/28/2015 and got in touch with Gabriella and we told her everything. She tried to accommodate us but we have had enough so we told her we wanted out and asked would we BE CHARGED FOR BREAKING THE LEASE. Surprisingly she said no we would not be charged and we would be given the PRO RATED RENT and whatever was damaged from the apartment would be taken out of our deposit. Me and wife were super happy that we got to get out of the devils toilet. So i was gone for a few weeks but we finally found out beautiful apartment in Presidio Rancho Del Oro (love it here! No roaches and mice). We told Vanessa and she said we would be charged because we were breaking the lease but we had told her we spoke to Gabriella and she said we wouldn't. So she got the ok on that and we were good. We moved out on Dec 19th so we should've been getting a PRO RATED RENT back. What did they pull you ask? "What pro rated rent are you talking about? Your not going to get it because you did not give us a 30 day notice." After Gabriella said we would get it back and even Vanessa said we would get it back! We would at least get something back from the deposit right? Yea we did after 2 1/2 months we finally did. There is only one person that understood our pain but i cant remember her name. But we kept calling Gabriella and Vanessa and kept asking about our pro rated rent because they would always " we will get back to you." And after like 3 tries they stopped answering us and never called us again. I still have texts to prove it to. Vanessa and Gabriella were nothing to thieves to us. Im telling you don't pay to these guys unless you like living with mice and roaches. Oh and if you like poop were you cook dinner. If you do like that then this place is perfect for you! Ill leave some photos i took where they literally painted over dead roaches and didn't even pick it up. Thank you for your time. read more

My husband and I lived here from May 2011-November 2011 while he was stationed at Camp Pendleton. I hated the washer and dryer - that thing would take HOURS to wash/dry your clothes. From the pictures on their website it looks as though they still have them. Be prepared to go the laundry mat. The area looks a little sketchy as you drive in, but I never felt unsafe in that neighborhood. The noise from the surrounding area was beyond annoying however. They'd always have parties in the open area beyond the apartment complex all days of the week and at various times. My husband called the police many times, but they never did anything. Another neighbor in the trailer park next door had a rooster that woke me up daily at 3-4am... Good memories of my husband and I's first place together. If you go to sign a lease, ask them about noise in the area - it may have changed. AC is one of those wall units, but we rarely had to use it. Pool was nice, always clean. Never had any issues talking to the leasing office, or having maintenance come. Would recommend if you're looking for somewhere cheap and safe. It was only $1100/month for a 2/bdr, 2/bath when I was there. read more

I moved in on April. So far im really happy where we are at. I grew up in Vista so i know what these apartments used to be like. It was taken over by new management before I moved in, The place is well kept. Close to stores and restaurants and gas station. Im off on weekends and I have no problem sleeping in. The manager Rebecca is awesome. She is not one of those mean, grouchy evil managers always out to get you. And she IS available when I need her. All our neighbors are nice and culturally diverse. People arent all in your business. I also noticed my new neighbor is in the military. I love that there is plenty of kids for my son to play with outside in the grassy areas. Its a pet friendly complex. There is never a parking issues. On weekend nights you can hear music coming from parties in neighborhoods/ houses nearby, it doesn't bother me , its not a big deal. I haven't had rodent or bug problems. Everything works in my apartment. Some people like to exaggerate and whine but I love it here. Dont let the area scare you away. Its SO much nicer than it was back in the days. If you respect your neighbors,your manager and the area you live in, you will get respect in return and a comfy place to live at. read more

I honestly wish that you could put zero stars as a rating. This place is so disgusting and unsafe! I moved here from WI and I read the reviews thinking that it can't be bad.... I actually think that people went too easy on this place while giving reviews. Homeless people hang out in the empty lot next door and sometimes come sit on the playground. The gates NEVER work and the doors are always unlocked or broken. If your car is parked on the street- I hope you like your windows broken and your stuff stolen. Its best to have car insurance here. It is unbelievably noisy. 30 Mexicans live in one apartment. The apartments across the street have quincenaras all the time that don't stop until the wee hours of the night and the horrible music shakes the windows in your apartment. The security guard is never there- but don't worry the cops are always around the neighborhood considering shootings are regular for the area. The manager is never in the office. Maintenance never gets done and if it does its usually late. The all-in-one washer and dryer SUCKS and takes 8 hours and doesn't even dry your clothes. NO, its not a stack. Its one unit that washes AND "dries" your clothes...supposedly. Fights happen constantly. ROACHES! OH MY GOSH THE ROACHES. AND the apartment manager told us not to worry about the carpet and such before we left because they are replacing it and she said we should get 300 back from our deposit- well turns out the day we left a new manager started and now we owe 200. I painted and made everything look better than it did before....Just don't waste your time OR money! They raise the rent way too often and its not even worth it. Rent a home instead. My husband and I have lived here since February 2014. The REMM Group property management took over in late January of this year and it's been an extreme headache ever since! When the new management group took over I went to the office and spoke to Wendy, a supervisor, to make sure our lease renewal, which we'd recently signed electronically, was on file and she confirmed that it was. Two weeks later we get notice that we have no lease and that we'll be expected to pay the month-to-month price. I called and left messages, stopped by the office, and emailed for a week to get this issue cleared up with NO response. I had to call the corporate office to get a response. Fast forward 3 months later and we FINALLY have a new lease, but the rent noted on the lease is incorrect. Again, my husband and I have been trying to catch someone during business hours to fix the errors but we've been unable to. On top of this, there is no website and no way of checking how much we owe for utilities, and when we guess incorrectly on the price in order to pay our rent on time, management charges us $100 late fee on a balance of less that $65. Trash is not picked up daily, so the dumpsters sit with mountains of trash in it for days. I used to love this complex, which is why we renewed our lease multiple times with the old management company despite rent being raised each time. Living here under REMM management has been such a nightmare and very stressful, I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Can't wait until our lease it up in a few months. The rampant lack of professionalism and unresponsiveness alone make this place unlivable. read more

Where do i start...my wife had been promised a ready apartment about a week before she flew out, she came out here and had been given an apartment that was not promised to her and certainly not ready, there were piss stains all over the carpet, the neighbor most have had 4 dogs that didn't stop barking day and night. She request to move to the apartment she had been told in which they did a week later. The washer and dryer (2 in 1) takes FOREVER to wash and even longer to dry your clothes which sometimes it didn't fully. The neighborhood outside the gate is ever more sketch and most of the time didn't feel comfortable, the cops were in the complex or outside of it at least 1 or 2 times a week. The best part, we moved to another apartment (the lease had 5 months left on it) our friend wanted to take it over, so i signed an agreement at the office with him and the manager stating i was vacating the apartment that weekend. The next day he had signed the lease and everything. 3 months later he got behind on rent and was stating that they were asking ME for it in which i called the office. She stated i was still on the lease (when there were SIGNED documents stating i wasn't and had vacated.) She then told me she had ripped up everything for some mishap. I wasn't aware you could simply "rip up" documents and then everything would just go back to the previous person. If you like going to the laundromat, loud noises ALL the time, no one ever in the office at the times posted, and even paying rent or damages caused by the person after you, then this place would be great. read more
