So my wife and I have been living and operating business (@Playgroundedsd) out of BluWater for about a year and a half now. The previous property manager, Jennifer, was wonderful and always very accommodating. The property maintenance manager, Dan, is probably one of my favorite people on the property. As a business owner, managing employees, I would do a lot to keep that guy on my team. It is very clear that he is well experienced and knows everything about everything when it comes to getting things fixed around the property. He's always the kind of guy that has a smile and takes a high five and a hello every morning. Bella has stepped into the scene as the new property manager in recent months and it is clear to see that she is a real go-getter and knows how to get things done! She's got a great attitude and it's clear from conversations with other neighbors that she is well appreciated around the property as the new incoming manager. Together, this current team of management and maintenance have a clear newfound energy and excitement with projects and movement as a community and the grounds here at BluWater. It has been a pleasant experience all around and it feels like it's even getting better as I write this review. In fact, that is exactly the motivator that got me to write this review. Apologies for the graphic nature of the attached pictures, but it drives home a point. A homeless person defecated and urinated at the bottom of our staircase the day after Thanksgiving. Things happen! We live near a train station! With that said, the management refused to help coordinate a clean up over the long weekend. We, and our visiting families now have to step over feces for 3 days. This is not how you take care of your residents. I am a firm believer that it's not what happens, but how you take care of it. FYI, just learned that the units are being sold, in phases of course. Bluwater is giving tenants ninety days to move in the "Live Loft" area. My assessment of Bluwater as a renter is different from being a buyer. Being a previous home owner, I would be upset to learn the wooden floor buckles quite easily when liquids touches it, that there is no sealant on the grout of the luxurious bathtub area (molds easily), or that the paint is just coming of the exterior trim. Rumor has it the "Live Lofts" are going for $500K, which is approximately 1400 square feet. I cannot say what the "Work Lofts" (2700-3000 sq. ft.) are being sold for, originally they were in the $700's at the height of the real estate market. Update: The above prices were a prediction and are an under estimation of what the seller has posted for prices. The prices are reflected more accurately in William's P's review. Current renter are left in the balance as to time line of mandatory move dates. There is a lot of dissension among the tenants and management here, especially those with businesses here. read more

Great complex but poorly managed. Overall I find the complex pretty good. The floor plans are spacious and well laid out and the interior fixtures and finishes are very nice and modern. We have had a few issues in the first year but nothing of major significance except the floors buckling near the entry way. The property managers have looked at it on several occasions and said it would be fixed but nothing has been done yet so the floors get worse with each rain storm. The location of the complex is great. It is right next to the coaster which I find very useful for commuting to work in Sorrento Valley. It is also a short walk or bike ride to Carlsbad State beach or even Ponto which has great beaches for hanging out and many surf spots. Unfortunately, the property has been poorly managed from the beginning. The units were originally listed for sale. The large live/work units went to the market in March 2009 and the 2 story town lofts went to the market in June 2009. The developer had issues moving the units and foreclosed on the property in August 2009. The complex came back on the market in April or May 2010 but as rental units and the managing company filled most of the vacant units with 1 year leases. Now 1 year later, the managing company has decided to commence the sales program again and have given the tenants in phase 1 a 90 day notice to vacate. Moving is really inconvenient and I think it's selfish of the managing company to flip flop between selling and renting. Now the tenants will need to spend time and money to move and some of the tenants started businesses and invested money into their units. The grand re-opening for the sales program is this weekend July 16-17. The tenants were given the release pricing a few weeks back during a community meeting and many were shocked because the release is significantly higher in price than the original sales program which was unsuccessful. Bluwater Crossing is very good and getting better. These are unique, three-story work/live spaces. I looked here for three or four years before finally consolidating my professional office with my living space in one unit. I am glad I finally made the move. The Bluwater community is a collection of small businesses and professional offices. Some are open to the public, and others are private. There are several hair salons, a couple of photography studios, a music school, a service dog trainer, a dance studio, an interior designer, a couple of lawyers and many others. There is gated underground parking. It is walking distance to the beach, with connecting bike and walking trails. And the Pointsettia Coaster Station abuts the property to the west. There is some freeway and railroad noise at night, but I happen to like train sounds, so that is fine with me. There is a Ralphs shopping center nearby with banks, a Rite Aid, restaurants, cleaners and the one and only Pelly's Fish Market...all three blocks away. Since I've moved to Bluwater, a small charter school has gone in to what had been an empty space across the street. It brings a some after-school mini-van traffic when school is in session, but on the plus side, the students are few in number and very well-behaved. The school gives a genuine neighborhood feel to the area. The big news at Bluwater Crossing has been the opening of Common Grounds, a work-share facility that has brought many fresh faces and a great entrepreneurial vibe. The Invicta coffee shop is now under construction directly across from Common Grounds, and that will probably become a local meeting place, I'm sure. Angela and Laryssa are the on-site project managers, and they do a great job of dealing with tenant needs and concerns. There is a friendly full-time maintenance staff on site and response times for repair requests are much improved. Thanks, John! Starting with the cons: The lack of amenities is really annoying considering the price. The noise from the train station takes some time to get used to, if ever. Top windows (22 ft ceiling) in the living room are not shaded, so you will either need to spend $$$ on curtains or shades or be up as soon as the sun comes up. For someone who works till late at night, this place is not ideal. The same goes with all doors at the ground level. No shading/privacy films unless previous tenants had invested in it. Although temporary in nature, the property is going through some major construction upgrades, which is making it impossible to work in the daytimes. No compensation is provided by the management company to the tenants, who are basically unable to work during this long process. If you have your own appliances, such as washer/dryer, you will need to get rid of those prior to moving in, as the leasing office would not allow you to use your stuff in their property. You are practically left with a useless washer/dryer unit that rocks like Mick Jagger. Living rooms are not lighted, so either bring your own electrician to hang stuff up or use floor lamps. Considering the high ceiling, floor lamps seem to be the only viable option. Pros: As others mentioned in previous reviews, the units are nice and roomy. Kitchen appliances are top-grade, so you really don't need to improve on those. The new staff at the leasing office are really nice and helpful. Neighbors are kind, considered and very friendly. The location is central, close to the beach, easily accessible and convenient. There is a train station next door, if you have the option to commute by trains. The maintenance is always done on time and promptly. It's clean, trendy and has a great layout. read more

Bluwater Crossing has a nice floor plan, however, I experienced a lack of integrity in returning my deposit. They kept monies that they admitted were due to me, and, in my opinion, overcharged for cleaning and then charged me additional monies for steam cleaning when the carpeting was returned in the substantially the same condition with minimal wear and tear. Despite the manager admitting that money was due to me, she just ignored my communications and failed to return the remaining portion of my deposit. While the units are well appointed, they are noisy and throughout the day and evening there is train noise. They often took a long time to address repair requests. Get clear on repairs and deposit return charges before moving in. read more

I just read through all the reviews and I'm blown away about how different my view is on Bluwater. I've lived here for 16 months and truly do love it. There has recently been construction but that is all over so don't let that stop you from moving in. The maintenance is awesome. They will always come within 24 hours and get it fixed the first time. The management is super friendly and helpful. We live on the East facing side of the street and the train does not bother us. In the summer we put a box fan in the window and we never need the AC. The heat on the 1st floor works great! On floors 2 & 3 it takes a bit longer because if the high ceilings. We hardly ever run our heat though. Neighbors are super friendly. A lot of people work from home so you see them a lot throughout the day. 5 minute walk to the beach is amazing! Viking appliances are amazing. Washer and dryer are totally fine. They aren't top of the line but they get the job done. You will need to bring your own lamps or ceiling lighting because it is dark without it. Parking isn't really an issue. There is always a spot within 100 yards of your place. I'm not concerned about the 90 day move out contract someone mentioned. If the property sold of another owner they would be insane to try to sell these units on the market. The floorplan isn't something that more than a couple people would want to own. It's great for a season of life but could be tough with little kids, elderly, or lots of kids. When it comes to cons there isn't much outside of what I knew when I rented. There is very little storage in the unit for stuff. They do rent units in the underground garage for $1 psf. The kitchen storage is totally fine. You can't put your BBQ out back. You can keep it on the 1st floor and roll it out anytime you want to use it though. read more

We've lived at Blu Water for almost a year. What is negatively reported on Yelp isn't the place we call home. Many of the issues addressed here have been corrected. Have we had issues? Yes - all very minor and when reported were corrected promptly. Are we near the train station? Yes, and we knew that when we moved in and made the decision knowing that. The comment about the low income housing was just that, low. Those we know living there are classy, respectful and kind. I've been impressed with the new management team going above and beyond to help make this our home. Would we like a more fashionable master closet? Yes, but we knew what we were getting when we moved it and have made it work. The open concept isn't for everyone, but works just fine for us. We are a block from the beach, have a growing business along with many others who love that our commute is walking down two flights of stairs. Best advice if you want to live here, do your homework first. Our neighbors are family. The sense of community here for those that choose to partake of it is something special. read more

OK, I was really cranky when I wrote the last review. The former property manager would always say, "no" when you even STARTED to ask a question. So I penalized them like a whiney little baby. New management is awesome. Cordial, responsive, enthusiastic. This place rocks. For the square footage, it's a really good deal. If you're the right kind of person -- a liker of contemporary spaces and bereft of kids and guests -- there's no better place. There are a couple of floorplans that offer a second bedroom beyond the master suite, so kids do live here, but most only have the master on the 3d level and then no other "rooms" except for the bathrooms. Not a great set-up if you have overnight guests. It is right on the rail line, and Amtrak just started stopping here for trains that go all the way to L.A. Sure, you hear the trains, but you get used to it. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the prices are rising pretty steadily and will probably get to be pretty uncompetitive unless you actually use the retail space as ... a retail space (we don't). This is a great place and if you're into the loft experience, nothing in this area comes close. read more

Do NOT rent here. My wife and I are 40 year old, responsible tenants and rented one of these condos for 9 months. Our experience was horrible. BluWater has some seriously shady business practices. We sold our home of 10 years in March so we could move to Carlsbad. We toured the BluWater property and really liked the look of the units. They had multiple vacant until and we let them know that we wanted to rent immediately They said they would not be able to provide us a lease for a couple of weeks because their "systems were down" and they didn't know exactly when they could give us a lease. We were ready to write them a check... and they wouldn't make it happen! I looked online and found the name of one of the real estate developers who originally worked on the property. I found her number and called her. Thanks goodness she was a sweetheart and had much better business sense then BluWater. She made some calls and somehow found someone to help me. The local manager of the property finally, reluctantly, contacted me and we were able to go in 2 days later and sign a lease. When we moved in the unit was filthy. They had clearly never had it cleaned prior to our arrival. They claimed that it was cleaned and weren't willing to clean it. We actually had to take pictures and go the leasing office and show them! We were finally able to get them agree to clean it again. We could tell that someone had been there but It was still filthy. Not a good start. The unit also needed repairs. We were told that they were ordering the parts and would do the repairs shortly. We asked several times when the repairs would be done and they kept saying they would once the parts came in. We finally gave up and 9 months later and the repairs were still never done. We finally found another place to live and moved out earlier this month. We asked them what we needed to do to prepare the unit so that our security deposit would be refunded. We were told to have it cleaned and that the manager would do multiple walk throughs before we moved out. Well, my request to do the walkthroughs was ignored multiple times. I emailed and left the office a voicemail. Neither was answered. We hired very good cleaners who spent close to 5 hours cleaning the unit to the point that it was MUCH cleaner then when we moved in... after all, we had only lived there for 9 months and had the unit professionally cleaned every week. Once we moved out were told that BluWater charged us $350 for cleaning! Unbelievable! They also made up a number of highly inflated charges for carpet cleaning (again, dirty when we moved in) and painting... painting! We only lived there for 9 months! In the end they refunded only 1.3% of our entire deposit. This is flat out criminal! I don't do many yelp reviews as I am a very understanding, patient and forgiving person but this experience was too poor to not take the time to let others know to stay away from this business. Also worth mentioning is that it is incredibly expensive. I would expect more from a high end rental property. Extremely disappointing. DO NOT RENT HERE! read more

Life is getting a bit brighter over here at Bluwater since My last review. I went in to renew my lease today and Laryssa and Angela have made a generous effort to I Prove the relationship we have with the community here. I really want to finally feel at home here after living here for our 3rd lease. There is no commute quite like ours when you only need to travel 1 flight of stairs to get to work in the morning! I appreciate the effort the office is making to clean things up, and build a friendlier community between us. As far as rent goes, I strongly feel the increasing rent is still a huge problem. When we moved in 2 years ago rent was $2900... 2 years later we're at $4,750. Insane. I really think the increase should be a bit more fair to residents that lived here when the market was lower and somehow abide to something reasonably fair. I cannot increase my salon pricing as fast as my rent has increased and it's brutal for me to afford such high rates so quickly. read more

The devil is in the details! This place is certainly not imune. As a renters here it was hard enough not having any of the amenities that typically accompany a 2400 dollar rent demand. I live on the west side of the complex and on a clear day with no haze a bright sun high in the sky and standing on my tippy toes and stretching every inch of my 6 foot 2 inch frame, on the second story of the loft, looking through the filthy windows that are too high to clean myself...I can see a blue reflection that resembles the ocean. We were sorely dissapointed by the severe lack of responsiveness to the simplest requests. This is a pet friendly community with no pet baggies, or trash cans. The fire pits have been broken for 10 of the 10 months we have lived here. The elevator breaks 4 to 5 times a month and the exterior finishes are falling apart. The grounds are sparsely maintained. On the inside the overall look is very modern, nice details and quality appliances. The floors are in need of replacement after only several months. It seems they were not properly laid or sealed so they buckle and warp the instant water hits them, kind of like placing a glass of water on IKEA furniture. They have attempted to fix the seals around the doors multiple times but you can still see daylight under the back door, important because the floors buckle and warp every time it rains as water comes into the house from under the back door. Keep a towel handy. The most used soft close drawers no longer close all the way and require an extra push to finish closing. The grout is not sealed either so you can almost see the mold come back after cleaning it. Unfortunately the black mold stains the grout. Light switches sizzle and pop sometimes and require cycling to work sometimes, kind of like when the contacts are not quite together but close enough for an arc to bridge the gap. Some lights work well at times then sputtered and dim at others like they are not quite sure if you flipped the switch to the on position. I installed two ceiling fans and the wiring upstairs is reversed, the white ground wire is hot and the black hot wire is actually the ground. Downstairs the wires are correct. There are overhead sprinkler heads which is great however 2 of the heads have some discoloration on the drywall that looks like concentric circles. It's not brown or anything just not the same white as the rest of the ceiling like the drywall may have been wet once, no evidence of sagging or anything though. Bottom line is that the place isn't horrible but does need some tweaks here and there. I am not an inspector but I have lived with this stuff long enough to notice things and take notes. A good inspector will have a great time here. Buyer beware as the 600k+ prices here come with some bothersome issues. Finally a DVR is a must have as the trains are not too intrusive but they seem to know when the height of the movie or show you are watching is coming so pausing live TV is an absolute necessity. read more

You know what they say about real estate; location, location, location. Just north you have the sewage treatment plant, to the west a parking lot and train station, to the east a parking lot, low income housing, and the freeway. Getting the idea yet? If you ride the train a lot, you can't beat the location, but if you don't why bother? During the evenings in the fall, there is this lovely aroma that fills the air. You know that song, oooh that smell? You'll be singing that a lot. Not to mention this is NOT a non-smoking complex and many neighbors / employees stand outside to smoke and if your windows are open you get to share that cigarette with them. So much for living by the beach so you can keep your windows open. If you own a business and like the idea of the lofts beware of the following. There really is little to no foot traffic through here. If your business is non-retail related, the place will work fine. If you are expecting the location to draw new customers, it won't. Not to mention the once plentiful parking is becoming non-existent. Between the parking designated for the school, the spaces used by the low income housing and the residents who won't park in the parking garage, there is very limited customer/employee/guest parking. I really liked the contemporary design of the units and that is what initially attracted me to the complex. After living here for a couple of years I can tell you that the units are really best suited for bachelors or a couple, but if you have additional members in your family you will find the "two-bedroom" units provide very little privacy. The manager and maintenance guy are friendly and they try hard to be helpful. That is the extent of positives. When you factor all this in with the ridiculously high rent for a complex with ZERO amenities, you'll discover there are many better options in the area. My advice, rent here with your eyes wide open and if you do, be prepared for huge spikes in your rent when your lease comes up for renewal. My most recent lease renewal included a totally reasonable 30% increase of $790.00! This place is truly run like a business and if you think paying your rent on time or taking care of the place will benefit you, share that stuff you're smoking because that is not the reality of living here. read more

My husband and I have been living here for almost a year now but we will not be renewing our lease. The actual units are great and have the modern lofty feel that we love, however, the amenites are non-existent. Neighbors are really nice, however management really does suck and seemed to go out their way to make things difficult for NO REASON! Some cons- it is across the street from a low income housing complex, right next to the train station (which gets annoying at night), and has absolutely no amenities. For that amount of money, there should be at least a gym or a pool. The only thing offered is underground parking. EDIT- MAJOR CON: Get ready to lose more than half of your security deposit during move out. They are in the business doing everything to not give your deposit back. Just moved out and they charged me $600 for painting, general cleaning, and carpet cleaning! Keep in mind we lived there for less than a year; 8 months to be exact. I turned in the keys on and scheduled a pre-inspection a week prior to my last day.....After looking over the place during the inspection, the manager gave me a verbal confirmation that everything looks good and stated that I would be responsible for either a light cleaning that ranges from $100-$150 or a medium cleaning from $150- $250. 4 days later I received an itemize bill with 3 different charges: A general cleaning fee $150, paint fee for $250 and a $150 carpet cleaning fee for a whopping total of $550! Keep in mind my deposit was $1000. What a Rip off, They never gave me an itemized list of what I could have performed myself to avoid deductions...What happened to common sense and good faith? I should not be charged for small nicks and minor marks. General cleaning, painting a few nicks on the wall and cleaning a carpet for an apartment with only the bedroom that have carpet(No major stains) should not be $700. Especially since I had almost a full month to do the cleaning myself. RIPOFF All in all, they are in the business of delivering horrible service to their tenants. Units are nice but service is non-existent. 4 stars for the actual units and 1 star for mgmt. read more

Pros hiking/running trails Cons The property management is the worst of the worst...there is no consideration for the tenants...the only thing that comes out of their mouthes is NO NO NO..they could care less and have no problem lying to your face. Right now they have construction work going on with JACKHAMMERING concrete out of all the sidewalks in front and back of units....It is CRAZY loud!!!! How can you be open for business????? We're talking REAL monetary losses here.... the place is marginally kept clean especially since it is located right next to the coaster & Amtrak station, I-5 freeway to the east, and the sewage treatment plant to the north The management sticks important notices in your front door instead of email or texting notices....I wonder how many of mine have blown away???? Very high tech ... lol Supposed to be security...saw someone driving around about six months ago...have a lot of thefts in the garage areas and car parking areas...partly due to low income housing across the street and punk beach skateboarders No privacy with the glass front door...people actually press there faces up against the glass and stare at you!! It is very unnerving!!! Get me out of here....People walking around here are unfriendly and won't even say hello back to your face....maybe they have been living here to long??? The management does not care that the low income people take up all of our and our customers parking spaces......the management will also lie to you and tell you that the Coaster parking is available to use..... BUT you will be towed or your customers will be towed if they see you on their cameras...It's not public parking and is posted everywhere at the station. The common trash area is always stinky and filthy! I don't think they have EVER hosed it out or scrubbed it! Beware too that you have to sign a doc that they can evict you with a 90-day notice if they decide to sell (they already done this once before in 2011). And Renter BEWARE this property is for sale.!!!! Some neighbors have put thousands of dollars in improvements for their business' ......makes no sense No amenities at ALL.....NO usable outside space unless you call their bird shit covered chairs with the broken water fountain and broken fire-pit homey. the wood floors buckle when there is humidity or anything else wet. you have to rely on your furniture to keep the floor from humping...but you also have to shim your furniture because the floor is so uneven not all the legs will touch...in some places it's inches!!!! the appliances (Viking) are all about the name and no function. The Dishwasher is so loud you have to leave the room to be able to concentrate. The oven's temperature can't bake anything even and can vary 30+ degrees high or low...after half a dozen service calls they just told me that's the product and nothing they can do The microwave LED function is not readable...the service guy said that that was normal The frig can only keep food for a couple days...and the water feature is inside so you dribble water all over the inside when you use it. Storage is a joke...your lucky to fit dinner plates and a few glasses...no pantry for food at all None of the interior doors close or at least stay closed because they were not properly installed ....you just push and pull the door open and closed Lighting...be prepared to put out for a lot of money for lighting fixtures unless your lucky enough to get the previous renters hand-me-downs. The heat system is probably the most inefficient possible...you have to turn up your water heater to the highest hot for it to work properly...but be warned when you take a shower cuz your going to get scalded!!! The utility bill is huge for this square footage due to inefficient systems. Don't rely on the maintenance ...they changed my batteries for the smoke/fire alarm (required by law) and 2-months later I found out that they put expired batteries in there!!! For my own piece of mind I put my own fresh batteries in. I always repair things myself...the maintenance, like the management is completely useless. It's really really noisy here!!!! There is no sound insulation inside and the way they built the courtyards the echo noises are amplified...it drives you crazy!!! The train sounds like it's going right through your living room. Thank God for DVR's!!!! Most of my neighbors have multiple dogs (no one cleans up after their dogs and most are off leash running through bushes) the outside areas smell like urine and poop like a dirty kennel. Multiple screaming kids (who lives here with little kids???? crazy) Again I can only say that there is no management to help you with ANY problem you may have...and there are a lot of problems living here!!!! After touring other options and then spending time at Bluwater with Laryssa I couldn't have been happier! She was extremely polite and answered my numerous questions. Love the retail options in the complex and the loft look and feel of the center and units. RETHINK MOVING HERE! I've lived here for 2 years and seen 3 different managers. They all have fallen short, been unprofessional, and inadequate. They will make appointments with you for inspections and never show up as this just happened with Julia. I rearranged my schedule to accommodate and they never showed. When I went into the office she acted totally surprised that we had a meeting and when I express my concerns with the professionalism of the community she had zero ability to solve the problem. In addition, Management Has a hard time returning phone calls or emails within a timely manner. Half of the time when I call the number to the office it is off and it says that the voicemail has not been set up. Overall it is just a unprofessional place to deal with for extended period of time. I never know who is actually the manager or who is in charge as there are so many frequent changes with the management company. You will be told one thing from one person and then a new manager will come in and say something different or not honor what the previous manager has said. Over my time of living here the garage door to enter with your car has probably worked for one month. It's been broken and left open for anyone to enter. The overall area of this place is not safe with the train being so close and the back doors to the community always being open and easily accessible. The key card to the garage hardly work. The fireplace hasn't worked half the time I've lived here or the hanging lights in the community area. Don't let the pretty community workspace fool you, it is a very different vibe when you move in and have to deal with management. To get things fixed is a process and the maintenance hardly comes when they make an appointment with you. Rethink this place for the cost. read more

After being assured (upon lease signing) that our live/work lofts would not be sold for at least 5 years and putting thousands of dollars in imporvements, advertising, etc. into our businesses, lo and behold we are now informed (after less than a year) that we will all either buy the units for an over market price or move out. We really liked living here at first. Nice floor plans, good location but the change in ownership really brought the property down. They raised rent a lot and tired to charge us when we moved out for normal wear and tear that we requested to be repaired but never was. The new owners must be leveraged pretty heavy because nothing they are doing is making much sense, Too bad ... cool design. read more

It's funny that our old unit is showcased in the first ten pics or so with all the paintings. It was kept immaculate and clearly worthy of what they want to show. Yet, they stiffed us for 100% of our deposit calling out bs issues that did not exist. They first threatened that we would have to pay over and above the deposit knowing we would settle with them keeping the deposit so we could be done with their shady practices. The area in general is not great because of low income housing as your neighbor, weird people coming through via the train station and staying in cheap hotels down the street. I caught some thieves stealing bikes, woke up to a drug raid across the street in low income housing, and had broken appliances off and on. Despite what seems like a nice work loft combo, I would turn around and run from this place. You are better off renting elsewhere and renting separate office space. read more

Would love to live here and my small business would absolutely thrive here, but I don't understand the weight restrictions for dogs. Our pups are most definitely properly trained, house trained, well mannered , and quite. Just a little larger than desired. We would be willing to pay a little extra for having a average size to large breed dogs. Blu Water Crossing should reconsider the weight restriction and or breed restrictions if they are already allowing pups in the first place. I see that there is a dog trainer on site maybe meet the pups and have an evaluation done to ensure well behaved pups are the well behaved they say they are. Worth reconsidering as to not alienate the larger dog breeds, owners and small businesses that can add so much to your community. read more

This is just an update from my previous review. Since then they have had new owners and multiple management changes. About 9 months ago, we were unhappy with the changes. Not only because the new owners started raising everyone's rent to market value, but more so because we started feeling like just a bank statement to the management. My husband and I started looking for home but we were sad to leave such a great part of town. We stuck it out a few months and in that time the new owners finally settled in with decent and more importantly consistent management. The new management has made it a priority to focus on these units as true Live/Work homes. The market price is still too high for those who only want to use these as a residence. You do not get the amenities you would expect at any other place for this price. However, these are not meant to be just residences. They are true Live/Work homes. The cost reflects this and there is a value to leasing here for your business with the added comfort of being able to live above. Angela and Julia in the office have done a great job getting to know the place. Angela works very hard and is always professional. Her experience managing a property is what this place needed when it became very difficult to live here. read more
