Greg Miller is an amazing asset to Solana Highlands apartments. He can fix anything and he's always smiling and friendly. I always feel like he's completely happy to help with anything. He went above and beyond on Tuesday Jan 17, 2023. I had been away and my car battery was dead. He got his truck, we borrowed some cables from Cody (also a great guy) and he jumped my car for me in about 5 seconds flat. He saved my day, was fully happy to do it and any company should have a guy like him. Pros: Great location: near the highway and a mile from the beach Great staff: have had a great experience with everyone at the location always there to address your concerns. Great maintenance crew: always timely and very nice. Great neighbors: love everyone we live near! So friendly! Dog friendly: love the dog shower and dog park! Cons: Pests: we have had a HUGE ROACH problem for a few months now, have had pest control come a number of times but the problem is not going away. My husband and I are very clean and we can see them coming from the crevices from the wall! So disgusting. We have had tons and tons of spiders too! The staff is great about responding to this issue but what they have done has not worked, the roaches keep coming back by the truck load! Laundry: broken down quite a bit, a lot of times only 1 or 2 washers working at a time Landscaping: have noticed a lot of trash and dead plants around, and dog feces galore! Old amenities: carpets are pretty run down/stained and over all the apartment could use a lot of updating. Pool area: I feel like every weekend was a party and kids running around/screaming all day. Never hung out by the pool for this reason. Mold: there is mold around some of our windows which I don't have think is great for us to be breathing in! I lived here for two years and have so many nice things about my experience and the community. To save you readers time, here's my list: - The leasing staff are AWESOME: Carlos and Katie especially. They are super friendly, easy going-but professional, and genuinely care about making sure your needs are met. - You get what is promised to you: It's no bait and switch. If something isn't right they are quick to make it right. -The maintenance staff are quick and responsive to resolve issues as needed. They are also friendly and know what they are doing. -The property is well maintained, they are continuously making improvements. The communal areas, in my opinion, always seemed very clean. -They frequently have cookies (and dog biscuits) in the leasing office and they don't judge you for taking more than one. -They are flexible with move ins and move outs. - They are SUPER dog friendly. There are tons of dogs in this community and the owners are respectful of picking up after their pets and keeping their dogs leashed unless in the dog park. -Fenced in dog park. It is small, but my dog needs to be fenced in so I always loved having this. - Lots of dog poop bags and trash stations. - The apartments seem to be well taken care of. When we moved in it seemed new and sparkling clean. We could hardly tell anyone else had ever lived there. - They give you a painted wall of your color choice. Idk I always thought that was pretty cool. I believe you can paint the other walls if you want but there is probably a charge to return them to initial color upon leaving. -Close to the beach, good restaurants, grocery and shopping. Excellent central location. -Great walking neighborhoods nearby. I think that pretty much covers it... the only negatives were that for our 2 bed/2bath we only got one covered parking spot. Parking can be easy or COMPLETE HELL depending on the day. Especially during the fair. Learned to hate the fair and fair go-ers for this reason. Also no laundry in unit kind of sucked. The machines are pay per use with their swipe cards. I always loathed having to refill those cards. The refill stations are not in every laundry room. We lived there from 2010-2013, and my daughter now has head-to-toe diseases and conditions. In our unit was evidenced grossly elevated levels of mold, up to Stachybotrys, as well as regulated levels of lead-based paint and asbestos-containing materials. Just moved in a week ago and am very happy so far. I was concerned because I was not able to see the apartment before I moved in because it was occupied. I worried that it might be in poor condition or not cleaned adequately. It was immaculate! I was so relieved. The neighbors are all nice and the people who work in the rental office are all very professional, helpful and friendly. I did have one complaint and it was addressed immediately = really rare these days. The only reason I didn't give it 5* is because it's dated and doesn't have AC or central heat. However, for the price it's great. The area is very quiet and convenient. I think the longest I can possibly stay is about a year, and I suspect I will be sorry to move. It's tough to find apartements in this area right now, but I definitely recommend Solana Highlands. read more

I like the location, it is close to the ocean and it is a much less crowded area comparing to where I used to live (La Jolla). There's 3 Starbucks and 1 Peets nearby btw and I loved that. My favorite thing about this place is the tennis courts. There are 2 and both in pretty good condition. However... A few things I didn't like... 1. Laundry is shared, and there's only 2 of each in each building and it gets crowded easily. Also, the rent is pretty expensive and you shouldn't​ have to pay more than $3 for laundry every single time. 2. Parking is outdoors only. If you want a carport you need to pay like $50 extra. 3. Very limited storage space. I was in a 1BR and there was no storage closet other than the walk-in in the room. 4. No AC. Not a huge deal most of the time but when it's 80+ outside... The good: Location The bad: Expensive for a cheaply built apartment Things kept breaking (their lightbulbs in the kitchen died 6x in 6 months) They deduct normal wear and tear items from your security deposit including: cleaning, carpet cleaning, paint (note: we didn't make a SINGLE hole on the walls - we didn't hang anything). Maintenance was pretty slow - we had carpet nails that stuck up so it hurt to walk around. It took them forever to respond AND they didn't still fix all of it. Ant infestations on the property No microwave Staff was pretty incompetent - said we didn't pay rent even though it was deducted from my bank! I had to call to sort things out and NO APOLOGY for their mess up. Very little guest parking. If you have 2 cars, you need to pay $50 extra for a parking space Laundry machine is BROKEN and hadn't been fixed in months. Have fun spending money and waiting for clothes to dry to find out they're still completely wet. Heed the negative ratings. read more

Do NOT rent here. I put down a deposit of $150, was told I would get it back if I changed my mind before 72 hours. I changed my mind because they have lead paint and Asbestos in their ceilings and want you to sign a waiver. They now will NOT give me back my deposit saying that I did not tell them before 72 hours because it was after five p.m. when I called? They apparently count the hours and not the days. read more

Cockroaches!!!! They manifested in my apartment almost immediately and I notified management after each sighting. They continued to send the same pest control company who did nothing to solve the problem. Solana Highlands showed minimal empathy or effort in helping to solve the problem. It was so disgusting I put in my notice as soon as my lease was termed. Solana Highlands staff are constantly turning over and there's no consistent communication. During the worst of it, I went weeks of sending pictures and emails about the problem without a response. Lived in the facility from 2019 into 2020. Negatives: EXPENSIVE, like-sized places lease for hundreds less and are closer to the beach (I paid 2100 for a 1 bed/bath). Watch out because they charge you for gas, electric, water, sewer AND trash, this adds on at minimum $100 each month, even when I was gone on assignment and no one was home. Dont use the heat coils for heat as they are very expensive to run with my electric bill frequently running over $75 for a single occupant (once $350 when I left it on for a few days). Visitor parking is abused and is ALWAYS taken. Theres literally a trailer parked in a spot. An apartment complex had a large fire burning several units at some point that were refurbished. They offered a generous 1 year of amazon prime if we paid our bill early due to covid19 concerns back in April, still waiting on that... But biggest negative of all is the straight up scam they run during checkout with the security deposit. I am in the military and have moved several times and know what is required to move from an apartment, so I cleaned my apt head to toe including borrowing a vaccuum. I was floored when they were going to charge me $550 to re-clean it, touch up the paint, and professionally clean the carpet. This is all CLEARLY illegal under California law protecting tenants from being charged for nail holes in the wall, paint touch ups, professional carpet cleaning or ANYTHING other than normal wear and tear. I emailed the manager several times and was told that this was all required because it was 'in the lease'. California law clearly disagrees. I had prepared a demand letter and was ready to go to small claims court. They relented somewhat and did not charge me for paint touch ups, but the military at the same time pulled me away on assignment after I had moved out, and I ultimately dont think it's worth my time to go to court for the remaining $270. Instead I am using my time to warn others against their schemes to rob their tenants. I've heard of landlords trying to nickle and dime folks before but this has literally dumbfounded me with their blatant disregard (or obliviousness?) of california tenant law. I hope others may read this and fight the fight that I could not. I wish we would have skipped living here. Location may be GREAT but remember, you don't live at the beach but rather in the apartment itself. In my opinion, I cannot say enough about how this place was one of the worst apartment experiences, ever. Here are a few of my observations: 1. water pressure: The "eco-living" is code for water pressure that varies from very poor to very, very poor. washing pots & pans is ridiculous, let alone washing your hair in the shower. our unit has the pull string like some hotels have for saving water. you will tug on it all through your shower so you can stay covered in water let alone have enough water pressure to rinse out your hair in a timely manner. Oh, and the kitchen sink is tiny. Looks okay, but actually it's not very deep and washing anything is another added hassle. 2. no air circulation in apartment so you better buy some fans, fans, & more fans. the unit is always moist feeling and mold will blossom! there is zero insulation in the walls. 3. VERY thin walls & single paned windows. you can hear EVERYTHING! The building construction is of a certain era and with zero insulation. Here are some things you will CONSTANTLY be able to hear, especially if you are near/ or on Nardo: -- the VERY busy and constant street traffic EVERY DAY, yes, every day (be assured that Nardo is NOT a quiet residential street but rather a busy thorough-way to and from schools, churches, access to Rancho Santa Fe or Via de La Valle). Trash pick up trucks are always picking up! I can hear them beeping in my sleep. And since the walls and windows do nothing to cover up the CONSTANT traffic noise, including car alarms that constantly go off, you will literally hear traffic noise (even the music from inside the cars that drive by) all day, every day. --you can hear everything your neighbors are doing! Their conversations, their TVs, music, video games, their dogs, and more! better hope they don't have good speakers. & despite how loud they are, management won't lift a finger to help you! so, you will suffer them as big engined truck rumbles by while the landscapers are out and you are trying to study, work, or just plain watch your own tv, which more often than not, you won't be able to hear. seriously, if you work from home or study from home, these units are horrible. -- the website says "dual paned windows" and doesn't specify "per unit" ... well, most units DO NOT HAVE DUAL PANED WINDOWS. So it's a lie/ misrepresentation/ alternative fact. You will hear constant noise! I can't stress the CONSTANT NOISE, either from outside or from your neighboring walls. also, the temperature outside will be temperature inside your unit unless you get the sun to beat down on your windows in summer then you will roast! --the constant landscaping (mowers, weed whackers, & leaf blowers galore) is the background noise of your life during the day, every day. the quietest days during the day are the rainy days! and it is CONSTANT! --you better love the sound of barking dogs. For the most part, there seems to be a dog barking all the time (from inside someone's unit or from outside). -even with noise cancelling headset the constant, CONSTANT noise is no match! and you'd pretty much have to wear them 24/7. 4. the community staff, at least in our case, didn't ever seem to know what was going on. if we put in a service request and confirmed it, somehow it got screwed up every time. from dropping off extra blades for the blinds to other items. despite taking time off work or arranging our schedule, we'd have to chase after them. I will give credit to Matt who initially helped up when we moved here, he was very professional and helpful, however, he left soon after. 5. They tell you to call "Courtesy Patrol" after office hours: Well, the "After hours Courtesy Patrol" they refer you to is a joke! When you call, whoever picks up is not one bit interested in helping you. When you are sharing the details of your call they are NOT paying attention. And then they will tell you that it will take about 45- 60 minutes for their security guard to come by. They also have a "security guard" person on the grounds at night. I have only ever seen him a few times in a year's time. So, as stated on the website, this is a 13 acre community with what seems to have one security guard at night! ON THE PLUS SIDE: we are thankful to have met some really great neighbors within the community but it's ever revolving door around here and everyone is always really excited to MOVE OUT! Close to beach Dog park *** when I read reviews that someone gave this place a 5 star I was stunned to think that THIS place was given that dubious honor. Seriously, we only picked this place because of both geographical location & accepted dogs over. In other words, I didn't even have high expectations and it sucked WAY more than I though it ever could! But this is not s 5-star place. PS: no microwave in unit. read more

Be aware that the laundry situation here is absolutely horrible. There are several community washers and dryers, no machines in your own unit. The machines are constantly broken or being used and abused. I know the community is working on repairing them, but it's been months. PROS: - The location is great. - The complex seems to be fairly safe. - The complex is usually quiet. - Good for dogs. - 2nd floor gets good breeze (there is no a/c) and is more private. (which is a con if you are on the 1st floor). CONS: - They make you pay a dog monthly fee. Ridiculous. Like what has been said before, a dog deposit would be fine, but paying extra a month for my yellow lab who is well trained and doesn't ruin anything is ridiculous. -No in room washer dryer. I'm not in college anymore. There are "close" facilities on site but I don't want to be hauling my clothes to a gross room filled with other peoples gross clothes. And they are often full. -Rent goes up every signing, with no negotiation whatsoever. -The pool/hot tub is often taken up with people who I'm quite sure do not live there. -No air conditioner (you don't usually need it in San Diego, but it would be nice). - Cabinets do not close well. read more

Michelle Taylor quickly answered numerous calls and emails to find the very best apartment and covered parking spot for my needs. Mary Wright welcomed me to the community and has helped with numerous follow up requests and emails. Jason Tow and Katarina Schmidt work quickly and efficiently to problem solve. Victor and Benny lead the maintenance crew with great attitudes and always ensure work is properly done. The grounds are very clean, love my two tennis courts and I'm in Solana Beach. I have lived here since June 2010 and really like it. PROS: -My apartment is really nice. Affordable too, compared to other places in the Solana Beach area. -The management office is quick to respond to maintenance calls. -You can get two accent walls painted for free when you move in. -The complex in general is quiet, and the residents for the most part are respectful, polite and friendly. -Amenities (hot tub, pool, gym) pretty decent. -GREAT location! 20 minute walk to the fairgrounds/racetrack, Cedros, the beach. Right off the 5. CONS: -You can't sign anything other than a 12 month lease or else they make you pay the overly expensive month to month rate. No negotiations allowed on rent, etc. They are pretty strict on this unfortunately. -People park in my assigned parking space all the time. It is difficult, if not impossible, to get a car towed from your spot. This means that I'm often walking in the dark, alone, from the street to my apartment late at night. There is a security/patrol car on duty most nights though. -Not a lot of guest parking in general. -Laundry rooms often have broken machines. Overall, the cons are generally true of most big apartment complexes so I can't ding them too much for that. :) It's been a great experience living here! read more

The complex - 5 stars Truly one of the best out there - top quality amenities including a heated pool, jacuzzi, extremely well equipped fitness center (so good I was able to get rid of my gym membership), an awesome community center - very clean, welcoming, beach feel with various coffees and teas available... a surf board and paddle board for use... walking distance to Cedros and the beach... as well as easy access to the freeway. Apartments - 5 stars Great design and layout offering lots of natural lighting. Clean, new, and you even get the bonus of a painted accent wall. I am very happy to have found Solana Highlands. Ok. I have NEVER met a more helpful, gorgeous, organized, caring Community Director in my life as Kimberly Duggan was with us yesterday at Solana Highlands in Solana Beach. She showed us EVERYTHING...Crunched numbers for us...gave us all sorts of tips in finding the right new place to call home...and so much more! It is a beautiful little village in the woods. Everything is light and bright...NOT BROWN!! The kitchen makes you want to come right in and cook something yummy immediately! I am still reeling from how amazing she was! For starters, Mariana and Matt in the leasing office are awesome! Very professional, knowledgeable and also very pleasant to talk to. Ended up changing units a few weeks after moving in (this was no fault at all on the mgmt co.) and they both were so accommodating and helpful. Only had to put in a maintenance order call once and they came out same day and handled the issues right away. Everyone on the maintenance team has been friendly and professional. The community is always well kept. They are constantly maintaining the landscaping and the trash and recycle bins are emptied often. The community is very pet friendly (even large dogs!).As a dog owner of a big dog, I've come to really appreciate this quality in an apartment complex and mgmt co. They always sponsor different events (i.e. pet of the month, Yappy Hour). Plenty of doggie stations throughout the community, and again, always maintained well. Great, great location. Neighbors seem to be very nice. So far, all in all, I am very happy with Solana Highlands here in Solana Beach. Would highly recommend them! read more

This has been a good place to live. Responsive staff and maintenance. Excellent location. They have often resolved maintenance issues in the same day. Great amenities and the noise hasn't been a problem for me at all. If you don't like pets, you might mind all the dogs around here. They raise the rent at each lease renewal and charge $50/month extra for a dog. While I think that's pretty much standard anywhere you go, it adds up if you stay here for a couple years. One tip: I don't think I'd be willing to live on the ground floor. Not as breezy, more insects, and you have to close the blinds all the time since most of the living space is in front of a large window. read more

Since i can't comment under my original comment, i decided to write another post. Since the manager decided to try to "put me on blast". My pet did have accidents on the carpet which i told the office about and they told me to just get the carpet cleaned. We spent all this money to get everything cleaned to then just be charged for the carpet not because the accidents he had but because of the hair he supposedly left behind that the next residents might have "been allergic" too. I have lived in Solana Beach, CA for the year and Solana Highlands since March 2011. Pros: -Great location and place to live, its quiet, relaxing and off the beaten path. -Nice pool, gym, barbecue area and two tennis courts. -Pet-Friendly!! -Maintenance is quick to respond and upkeep of Apartment grounds is good. -1/2 mile from the beach, shops, etc. -15-20 minutes from Downtown San Diego -Majority of residents are friendly -Apartment staff are friendly and always willing to help. -Security patrol -No need for A/C weather is great, but there is heating and fireplaces that work. -Big patios on downstairs (small one in front, larger in back) Cons -Rent guidelines are pretty strict -12 month lease or expensive month-to-month -Parking could be better (assigned spots sometimes parked in, or have to park on street) -Not a lot of lighting around complex, so lots of dark areas. -Pet deposit and monthly fee added to rent :( Regardless, of cons I looked at several places throughout the area and by far you get more for your money at Solana Highlands compared to other complexes in the area, especially being so close some of the best beaches in Southern Cali. read more

Stay far away!!! Their logo, as seen from the street, is a dollar sign. You do not get what you pay for living in this place. It is expensive, because half your neighbors are section 8 housing, or "bonded" meaning they pay half of what you will pay. They will bring all their ghetto and illegal friends to the complex, resulting in a high theft rate. Cars are regularly broken into, and I do not leave my apartment at night even WITH dogs. There are always suspicious characters loitering, requiring frequent phone calls to the police. The apartments are old, dirty and infested with spiders. They aren't cleaned before you move in, just painted over. You can tell by looking at my front door how someone has previously tried to break in. Not patched up, literally just painted over. Ceiling mold galore. This is a 'pet friendly' complex in theory only. Yes, pets up to 100lbs are allowed. Supposedly there are breed restrictions against German Sheppard, Pit Bulls, etc. but don't be fooled as many neighbors have such breeds, or mixes thereof. I use quotations for 'pet friendly' because this is the worst place to keep a pet. The premises are full of canine feces (though given the proximity to Eden Gardens, I am just hoping its Canine of origin), fleas, and other disease. I have never made so many vet visits, and pumped my dogs so full of antibiotics as I have living here. The office staff is somewhat pleasant, though I don't understand how they can have such poor communication with each other given how few of them work here. Pathetic!!! Not the brightest crew around, but that should be expected given their occupation. I wouldn't trust the manager Kimberly as far as I could throw her either. The pool is nice during school hours. After that it fills up with filthy, unsupervised, noisy children until closing. Did I mention the Mexican fruit truck honking his horn at any hour, and blocking cars in the lot? Every day. The police said there is nothing I can do, as long as he has a permit he may enter premises. Funny how the office staff pretended he wasn't allowed on site, how they "need my help" in keeping him away. The concept of guest parking is a joke, as the spots are always taken by my unemployed neighbors, thus never giving us working folks a chance for the spot. The 24hr occupancy rule for these spots has never been enforced in the 2 years I have lived here. I can not wait to leave this hell hole! By far the worst place I have ever lived. Never have I felt so unsafe in my own home, as I have here. The office just wants their money every month, and could care less about trespassing hoodlums. Any mention they tell you of security patrol is a LIE. They don't even lock the laundry rooms on a regular basis, so I don't know who Mr. Security is. Finally, not only will you be surrounded by illegal neighbors, but the people contracted by Solana Highlands are crooks themselves. A police car pulled up in front of my building one day, and the two landscape works RAN into the laundry room to hide. I thought I would be safe living anywhere west of the 5. I obviously should have done my research. Do yourself and Solana Beach a favor, and do not give Solana Highlands any business. These crooks need to be stopped. read more

Horrible place! They only want your money....hence the dollar sign is their logo. Its guaranteed that they will raise the rent no matter how great of a tenant you are. I always paid my rent early and had no complaints, yet my rent was raised significantly. Leasing agents seem to only care about you when they have oppurtunity to make comission. The apartment is pretty crappy considering how expensive the rent is. The apartment has a mold/cigarette smell to it. Horrible paint job and cheap appliances too. Walls are VERY thin and gets annoying when you can hear everything going on in every unit that's attached to me. The grass is FLEA INFESTED. Frontline (flea med) no longer works on fleas in this area, so pet owners beware. Overall, you can get a MUCH nicer place for your money. read more

I am saddened to read the previous review of my new home at Solana Highlands. I have had nothing but great things to say about this complex. I have wonderful and helpful neighbors, the grounds around my complex are well taken care of, and any time I have had a problem (garbage disposal, blinds, etc.) I have received IMMEDIATE and friendly attention. I always get a call back from the office to make sure I am happy with the work. When I moved in, the place was immaculate. Brand new carpet, windows were all clean, stove in perfect shape and clean. I was also asked if there was anything they could do to make sure I was comfortable. Yes - there are spiders. But you will find that anywhere you go in this area. Especially if you are on the ground floor and keep your doors or windows open. It's a double-edged sword. We have beautiful grounds with lots of nature around us. Hence, comes bugs!! It is a fact of life. If you want to live in a completely concrete covered sealed environment, maybe you wouldn't have as many spiders, but you would also be missing out on the beauty that the outdoors here offers. I'll take spiders any day, as long as I can overlook Torrey pines, bottle brush trees, and watch hummingbirds come to feed from my flowers. I have not noticed any serious problems with animals. In fact, it is the one thing I love about this place. And all of the animal owners have been friendly, and I always see them cleaning up after themselves. The entire staff has been warm and welcoming. In regards to security, I have to admit that you will find this a concern in most of Southern California. It is impossible to keep a full-time 24/7 staff of security guards on a 14 acre complex. It is the responsibility of each of us, to take care of ourselves, report any misconduct, and keep communication open. The staff immediately sent out an email after the recent incident in our neighborhood, giving us reminders of what we need to do if we notice any suspicious behavior. We've been living here for almost a year and love it. The staff takes very good care of the grounds and are super responsive if you have any repair requests for the apartment. Nice pool and hot tub, great tennis courts and a huge lawn for dog walking. Less than a mile walk to Cedros and downtown Solana Beah. read more

I have almost been here a month.The place is pretty quiet for having animals. Everyone here is so friendly and welcoming. The staff is helpful and friendly. There seems to be a lot of new and exciting updates going on here that I am looking forward to. I will have to say the downfall is the parking spaces and the guest parking. It seems as thought renters are parking in the guests spaces and not leaving them for the quests. I wished that could be monitored better. read more

This is the best complex in the area on my opinion, the prices are extremely reasonable for all the space in the units, the beautiful landscaping, and amazing staff. They do everything possible to accommodate your needs. This is also a very safe and private complex. Benny with maintenance is amazing, most of all Olivia the manager is incredible. She does anything and everything she can to make sure all your needs are taken care of. She Is so helpful, responsible and understanding. My husband and I moved in last October. We are pleased with the community here. More so the outstanding service of the leading office. We had a few hiccups in the apt we moved into and Matthew and Olivia responded to the issue in helping us transfer to another a apartment. I agree with Jerri B. Great place to live. Have been there over a year after checking out all the other places in the area and many outside of it. Staff is great and friendly. Work orders are handled promptly. Great place for families. Nice place all around. I would stay but my family is starting to outgrow the premises. Only thing that would be nice would be a washer and dryer set up in the apartment. It's is not built with that ability so their isn't anything you can do about it unfortunately. All is good in this non-hood! By the way, the Fruit Truck is a great option if you are short on some groceries and don't want to make the drive. In January of 2012 it will be a year that my husband and I have been living at Solana Highlands and for the most part we have liked it alright. The buildings were built in the 70's so the exterior is not very modern-looking, but the maintenance crew do a good job at upkeep. The apartments have practical layouts and are offered in different styles that also range in price. What we enjoy the most about living here is the location. Solana Highlands is situated in a very good neighborhood and within walking-distance of shopping centers, the post office and the Solana Beach Downtown area. The office staff of this apt. complex is very friendly and efficient and a monthly newsletter keeps you updated on the events going around town and in the North County San Diego area. read more

Honestly for the most part living here was fine. We rarely ran into any problems, they throw nice little events and the maintenance crew is really friendly. We were going to try to stay at SH but they never gave us new rates for our new lease and when we asked about getting a 2 bedroom apartment with them instead of one, they said they would call us. No call. When I went to the office to follow up, they were busy and said someone would call. Still no call. So we put our 30 day notice in. When we moved out they tried to say we owed for 78% of the carpet life instead of the 20% that they had written down during our move out inspection. (Because carpets get replaced every 5 years in apartments you only have to pay for rest of the life of the carpet) The good thing is I saved my pre-move out inspection paper, which I would advise everyone to do. Our quote for carpet replacement went from 160 to over 600 dollars. They tried to say the carpet was replaced in 2016 when the move out inspection paper (which I forwarded to them) said 2013. They nickeled and dimed us for everything during move out, saying it took 4 buckets of paint for a few touch up spots in a one bedroom apartment. Their flimsy blinds that fell, during move out the inspector said that likely they won't charge you because they understand it happens. Of course they charged us for them. Luckily I found the number for the company that owns Solana Highlands and Robin was incredibly helpful in fixing the terrible customer service the community director, Carlos, provided me with. If you live here be prepared during move out to not get your security deposit and they will try to take more from you too. And be sure to take pictures of everything before you leave in case they try to take advantage of you.
