Dr. Pennington and his crew have been my vet of choice for over 30 years. He is the best in the area and truly cares about his patients. People here have complained about the wait time and there is a reason for that wait time. Unlike other vets and animal hospitals, you will not be rushed. You are given the time needed to give your furbaby the best care possible. If it goes over the standard care time so be it. Yes others will wait but if the time comes that YOU need extra time with the vet, you will get the same excellent treatment and the time needed for your pet to be best cared for. It amazes me these days how people don't notice when there is not a revolving door for patients. He is accepting patients on and off over the year as people move etc. You'll still want to give them a call either way. If you have a question, Doctor Pennington will call you back during his phone "call back" times which is usually after 5pm est. The staff are very knowledgeable and will usually know whether or not your question can be answered over a phone call or if your furbaby would need to be seen. They have been working at the office for a very long time and if for some reason they don't know, they will check with the doctor. Regardless of how we feel about it, sometimes the questions can only be answered with the pet present and an appointment is needed. He's not going to just tell you what you want to hear. As for cost, he is actually very good for this area. And if you have a budget you need to let the staff know. They will work with you to keep within your budget and get the best care for your pet. If you are going to into the office for a Rabies shot that the Government requires every 2 years make sure you ask for a quote before seeing the Doctor. Dr Pennington. The Doc is a great man he is very caring about animals, BUT, getting back to the quote for what you want done. The last visit was $300, I ended up paying for Blood work test's that is NOT what is required in the state, there is another shot that is not required it is a shot for Lyme Disease. My dog is in the house 90 % of the time, she only goes outside for her Bathroom issues, and walks down the sidewalks. I will be requesting the Rabies shot only going forward. Like I said the Doctor is a very nice man and he knows animals, but buyer be aware of unnecessary charges. read more

We have been going to Dr. Pennigton for 20+ years caring for two dogs and six cats (seven counting the feral he neutered for us), He is not only kind to our pets, but also to us! We feel like a friend when we go to see him. He is thorough, gentle, and straightforward. Except for one time he told my husband (I am sure sarcastically), "Luna is a little overweight". Make appointment and expect to sit in your car for over an hour to be seen with no update on status of when you will be seen. Called back after sitting in car for 1 hour to be asked if I want to reschedule since I'm only there for an annual check up. Horrible customer service. From a care standpoint great. But i try and try to get a call back to no avail. Or call to get a question answered and they want to schedule and appointments. A yes or no would suffice. Most recently trying for weeks to talk to someone about skin allergy and nothing. And you wait for close to an hour every time we have and appointment. I am revising my previous review. i went to visit Dr. Pennington with my dog Max and I was relieved to see the young receptionist was gone. She has been replaced by a very nice and welcoming young man. The other two employees are also very nice and helpful. I continue to take my dog to Dr. Pennington. His office has been renovated and looks beautiful. Dr. Pennington continues to be amazing and always is so kind to Max. I did have to wait a bit last time I was there--45 mins---the office was full and they had a dog that was very sick and had lots of problems. I'd like to first start this review off by saying that I rarely EVER write bad reviews about a company unless I felt completely disrespected. I just moved to Windsor from Florida 1 month ago and was looking for a vet for my older dog. I called to make an appointment for a nail clipping at 11:15. I arrived in a few minutes early and walked up to the front desk but realized the woman was on the phone. She didn't acknowledge me at first, which wasn't a big deal considering it was a Monday. She then gets off the phone and continues to work without even acknowledging my dog and I sitting there waiting. Then another office lady walks through the back and sits down next to the First Lady and they start discussing each other's HAIR! Still no acknowledgment, they proceed to have a personal conversation while I've still been sitting there. Then another patron came in, which the 2nd office lady starts to help him. While she is helping him, the original woman finally looks up to me for the FIRST time and asks me 'oh, are you here for the nail clipping at 11:15?' and I reply 'yes'. Honestly, at this moment, I'm not too happy but keep my cool. She then pulls out a clipboard and proceeds to say to me 'here, fill this out, it'll give you something to do.' I mean... Really???? GIVE ME SOMETHING TO DO??? At this point, I'm fuming but still stayed calm. After she said such a rude comment to me, I very politely told her 'You know, I don't feel very comfortable with the way you've treated us and I don't feel okay with you even touching my animal at this point. I hope you ladies have a great day' and I walked out. Fortunately the woman at Petco down the street told me to come ASAP for the nail clipping and couldn't believe I was treated the way I was. I've been a server and bartender for 14 years now and I understand if you are having a rough day but the way I was treated was just so cruel and unacceptable. Not only have they lost the business of my 1 dog, but the business of my moms 3 dogs as well! I genuinely hope no one will be treated so rudely as I was. read more

AVOID! While the vet himself is very nice, you'll be forced to interact with his incredibly incompetent office staff. Expect scheduling issues, expect to be misquoted and nickle and dimed for everything imaginable, my last visit was nearly double the quote. Expect to wait, and wait, then wait some more. My last trip for a simple vaccine, I waited for an hour and 15 mins before being seen. If you're quoted for anything, expect that price is double. If you question the price you were quoted the staff will tell you you're not welcome there anymore. I had been a client for over 10 years putting up with these issues. the VERY first time I complain about the wait time and the mis-quoting I'm told I have a 'bad attitude' and that I'm not welcome there anymore. Ive been taking all of my pets to this clinic and i must say that this is the best animal clinic i have been to and I've tried a few due to me rescuing animals in need. There facility is inviting and warm and very friendly. The vet is great with the animals as well as all of his staff. They aren't they type of business that just looks quick and your out the door as fast as you came in. They answer every concern you may have. There also not just interested in your wallet but they consider that there are some people who really love there pets but sometimes they just can't afford for everything right away and with my experience they have worked hard for me and me pets. I have referred anyone who's looking for a family type veterinarian. It is a small clinic but just remember you may not get all the attention you may want and need in a big facility. There very clean place inside and outside. I have been to the larger vets were you look at the size of there building and you think wow there doing so well but than i go in and you find yourself sitting in a corner sometimes waiting awhile just to check in and you find that your waiting even longer to be seen and alot of the time if the staff feels like your getting upset they'll stick you in a room just to be out of sight from other people who are coming in because they don't want anyone to tell other people how slow they are. So stick there patients in a room. Windsor animal clinic isn't like that my whole family comes to this clinic and we love it. You never have to chase down the doctor they always return any calls and and test results you may be waiting for you'll receive them they never forget you. I cant say enough about this clinic and the staff please come and experience it for yourself as well as your pets. Because our pets are our babies and we want them to have good health to and we want them to have a vet who truly love and care for your baby to.... So come on in. read more

We love Dr. Pennington...and our little french bulldog does too. He always takes his time with us everytime we bring her, is very thorough, and does not overcharge. Every test he orders seems perfectly reasonable and he calls us with the results. We have also called for a couple random questions here and there (our frenchie is our first so we have lots of questions) and he has always called back the very same day. He has been our vet for 1.5 years now and we are so glad we decided to drive a little further to get great care for our puppy...after all she is totally worth it! read more

I usually don't review businesses but this had to be said, I've gone to many vets for my many dogs and cats in the past, and know how nice many of them are but recently a little cat adopted us and we were looking for a new doctor in this area. Friends recommended this doctor and there are truly no words to describe how down to earth, caring and fabulous everyone was. Dr Pennington made us feel like he had all day to be with us. His helper, Nick, was such a caring and kind person who just made us feel at home. My cat didn't even cry or squirm during the shots- he was so comfortable with the loving energies. Made an appointment for my dog to have one shot at 11:15am... thinking it would be pretty quick. I waited over an hour because they overbooked and took someone without an appointment before me. The front office staff did not care or apologize for the inconvenience. They rushed us out because they wanted to close up as soon as possible. Very poor and frustrating experience overall. The vet there is wonderful but he needs to do something about his scheduling and front office staff. read more

I took my 3 month old bijon Shitzu in to see Dr. Pennington for a purchase inspection. The place is bustling and there's a lot going on. I found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. The doctor came out promptly and directed me to one of the examining rooms. Clearly he came across as well experienced and knowledgeable. He examined my dog while telling me stuff about pups in general and my breed in particular. The word I use to describe him is avuncular. He strikes me as a country doctor who is honest and could easily fit in a Norman Rockwell picture. read more

To start we were recommended to Dr. Pennington. He was great during our first visit and overall would recommend the doctor. However, I would not recommend the vet tech/receptionist at the front desk. We brought our dog to get neutered. I called ahead and asked what time they closed and was told 6. My wife dropped the dog off around 9. The girl was somewhat rude and very short in her answers. Later that day my wife called around 530 and let the office know she would be a little late arriving just after 6. She was told that was fine. As soon as she hung up, the girl behind the desk called me. She asked if myself or anyone else could pick up the dog. Her quotes were "your wife mentioned she would be a couple minutes late and we are ready to go home. She is the last person we are waiting on, we are done and want to go home." I asked if they closed at 6 and was told yes but they were ready to leave now. She then asked me for my payment so they could go as soon as she got there. My wife arrived at 6:02 and apologized for being late. At that point they asked why she was there... It is a shame that I will take my business elsewhere because of her attitude. read more
