Windows on Washington was the most professional of all the companies I received estimates from... from first contact to estimate to follow up. I can't say enough nice things about Zach, who came and presented lots of options for our windows. I was impressed that Zach went out of his way to let me know there was more than one choice, even if that didn't entail hiring WoW. Although repair, rather than replacement, turned out to be the most cost-effective option for us at this time (we had just a few affected windows), when we prepare to replace all of our windows in the next few years, Windows on Washington will definitely be my first call! read more

WOW was very patient with us while we considered what option to choose for our large window replacement. They offered different options and were so knowledgeable throughout the entire process. Installation day they were so thorough with every detail--we will definitely use them in the future! read more

We had 5 windows replaced in our 3rd floor condo by Windows on Washington. Eric--the owner himself, came out to our house to do the estimate, was very personable, professional, and organized. The workers themselves did the whole job in only 3 hours, were also very professional, punctual, and neat. They cleaned up so well after themselves, you would've never known major construction had been done! Now we have had time to live with the windows and there is a noticeable difference in how quiet it is and also how much warmer it is in our place. Highly recommend this company! read more

WoW delivers a very high quality product, they carry high end windows and have experienced and detail oriented installers. We had them remove an existing window and replace it with a sliding door for our new deck, so a little more complicated than just a straight window replacement, and all work was done professionally and quickly. Everyone we dealt with, from sales, to scheduling, to installation, to follow up, was friendly and helpful. read more

Overall great experience! The sales rep was very knowledgeable and was not trying to make a hard sale. I had a couple quotes prior to calling Windows on Washington and ultimately chose this company because of the customer service experience, they offered the best warranty and I felt the cost was reasonable for great quality windows. read more

We had four windows replaced and would happily use Windows on Washington again. Sales: 5/5 Salesperson asked us what we were looking for, then did some rough measurements and explained our options including the reasons why adding the fourth window was only slightly more expensive than the original three requested. Explained all options in detail and expected delivery/installation dates. No pressure. Very nice experience. Measurement: 5/5 The installer came out for detailed measurements of the windows. He also spent time discussing possible issues with the installation and potential remedies. Scheduling: 3/5 We were given an estimated date of delivery of our windows to the company and told we would be contacted to schedule installation. We called a week after that date and were told the scheduler was on another call and would call us back. No call. We called two days later and left another message. No call. We called the next week and were told the person scheduling was out on a business retreat for a week. Did get a call a week later and after that communication was good. Installation: 5/5 Excellent work. Site cleaned up. Given an explanation of the work and workings of the windows. read more

I called WoW to do work on a leaky garden window and a roof tune up. As a first time homeowner, home repairs are pretty new to me so naturally I had a lot of questions. Eric answered the phone and told me he could come out to see me that same day. He arrived on time and inspected all the problem areas. Eric is very knowledgable, professional, and nice. He explained the issues and solutions thoroughly and any questions I had were addressed. I appreciated that because I have a slew of repairs and it's important that I understand the work being done, why it's being done, and that the price is fair. Eric also knew I was on a tight schedule so was able to accommodate my appointment within the week. Emanuel came out and did an amazing job. As I am in a townhouse, he found a problem area on my neighbor's side of the roof that could have a negative impact on my home. Even though it was outside the work scope, he addressed it with no additional charge. I also felt secure that Emanuel was thorough in his work, since he was able to uncover problem areas that aren't visible to the eye and addressed the ones he could within the scope. After the work, we did a walkthrough and just like Eric, Emanuel was knowledge, efficient, and very nice. He explained all the work that was done on the roof, windows, and took pictures of before/after of the things I could not see. One last praise I will sing is, they have a very organized system: from booking appointments, sending you work scope/pricing, to payment. Before you agree, they will send you a work scope that clearly lays out what work they will do and the price of each. Good stuff, not all companies do this. If you don't read anything in this review, at least please read this: Eric and team are courteous , professional, take pride in their work, care about the customer and their home, and will offer competitive pricing. They have my trust and I will recommend them to my HOA and others that ask. read more

Tremendous company to work with! They provided all the options and details available, there was no pressure to "up sell" beyond what I needed for my condo. Because nobody is perfect, they did identify a specification error during the site survey - very early in the process, so it had no impact on ordering or manufacturing. We also had lots of required coordination to meet HOA requirements, for which they provided all the info and quickly responded to the few remaining questions. As required, the final installation matched the original appearance (while being far more quiet and energy efficient). The installation crew was professional and courteous, and left the inside & outside just as clean and neat as when they started. Highly Recommended! read more

We had 15 windows and one French Door replaced by Windows on Washington. Their sales, measurement, and installation staff were all professional and we are very happy with the entire process. The salesman Greg was honest, straightforward, and responsive to our questions. The installation team did an excellent job! We will definitely do business with WoW again on the remaining windows that need replacement in a few years. One of the windows came out of the manufacturer's package with a long crack and the installation manager said they will order a new one and come back in a few weeks to replace it. I will report back on how it turns out but I trust they will do an equally good job as they did during the original installation. read more

I had a water stain in my master bedroom ceiling. I got a few roof repair companies to look at it. I got Greg's contact from one of the neighbour's and he mentioned he works for WoW. I called him and he said he'll send Beau to take a look at it. Beau was very methodical and unlike others who blamed it on imperfect installation of a section of roof by visually inspecting the roof, he spent quite a bit of time inside the attic and determined that the leak was actually coming from the chimney. He took photographs and showed me the water marks. So, the final bill for getting it fixed from WoW was much less than the other companies quoted for the work. More importantly, I believe the right problem got fixed. read more

My wife and I just had five new windows installed by Windows on Washington (WoW) a week ago and so far are thrilled with the outcome. The initial consultation was very informative and useful for thinking through the key considerations off a window purchase and installation. Greg was very knowledgeable and responsive to our needs, preferences, and questions. During the initial measurement visit and actual installation, Jose provided top notch service. He was professional and courteous, communicated clearly with us about the arrival time and work to be done, offered several useful pointers about how to maintain the longevity of the windows (e.g., re-painting a slightly rusted lintel over one of the newly installed windows to prevent rust stains), and seemed to do an excellent job coordinating and supporting his team of installers. The OKNA 800 Series windows were installed perfectly, look incredible from inside and out, and are crystal clear. The all-in price for windows plus installation was very competitive. Based on this experience, we would definitely recommend WoW to anyone else getting windows replaced in their home. read more

We have a townhouse that was built in the 70s, and unfortunately was still sporting the original windows. Disaster. We obtained several quotes (I believe we ended up replacing 17 windows and switching the French door to a sliding door) and I am so pleased that we went with Windows on Washington. Zach, the sales consultant who came to the house, was a true professional. He was friendly, didn't get upset when our puppy managed to jump on him, and was the most down to earth sales person I've met. He was very knowledgable about the product, not pushy, and had none of that "smary used car salesman" personality. Never did we feel pressured to commit to making that large of a purchase while he was there. And, best of all, WoW had the best quote! Zach was great with the follow up, and was a pleasure to work with throughout the whole process. Regarding the installation - could not have been happier! The crew showed up early (when do you ever hear of that happening???) and were done with the job, including clean up, by 3:30 that same day. We didn't have to go back and ask them to clean up any messes, and both the inside and outside of the house were spotless when they went to leave. They were all polite, considerate, and answered any questions we had, and even took the time to point out and show us some of the features of the windows. As for the product - OMG! No drafts coming in through the windows, and my husband and I swear that the glass is actually clearer than what was replaced. Since it's the middle of winter, we haven't been able to open them yet, but I'm sure it won't be a problem when spring finally comes around! We will be recommending Windows on Washington to anyone that we know that needs new windows. read more

These guys rock! Eric was the best service rep - came out IN THE SNOW!! and walked up my hill and checked out my roof and gave me an estimate within the week and kept in touch with his emails right away back and forth. Was very professional and knew what he was talking about. Then we talked about my insurance coming and taking a look to see if we could get a claim filled and he SHOWED UP with the insurance agent to make sure the insurance agent didn't give me the run around. I've learned more about my roof in one 30 minute estimate than I have in the 30 years I've been living. These guys are awesome, I will be using them for all of my exterior projects again most definitely & would refer them to any of my friends read more

Professional service! When I got my new door and storm door installed last October they went the extra mile and fixed an unexpected issue at no extra cost. Also after the storm door took some damage this year they contacted the manufacturer for me and came by to repair it (also at no charge). They stand by their work and that's a pretty big deal for me so I would definitely recommend them for any home improvement work that you might need done. read more

I got top-of-the line windows and doors, that look great. The company was timely with their appointments and their installation. When I had an issue, the owner stepped in and fixed it. Just got new windows installed by them. They did a great job. Very professional. Windows look excellent. I highly recommend!

My experience with Windows on Washington and specifically Eric Novotny was the most professional I have ever had with a contractor. Eric replied to a request for quotation / consultation that I put on houzz for some repairs I needed to my home's windows and ended up spending time with me via phone, text and email exchange to make sure I knew where to go to get the parts I needed and receive instructions on what turned out to be very minor repairs. He did this all free of charge. Eric never tried to sell me anything and followed-up with me as if I were his top customer. I would definitely recommend Windows on Washington for any windows replacement or repair project you may have. Thank you Eric read more

Great company for your windows installation. Quality windows , pricing and excellent craftsmanship. Thanks WoW

No mess, no stress, Windows on Washington is the best! I had a tree limb break panes of glass and the frame on a garden window in the kitchen of our home that was built in 1940. Several glass companies would not even write me an estimate to replace a single window, they had a 'three window minimum.' One competitor came in and tried a super hard sales approach that ended with me asking them to leave our house. Windows on Washington gave a rough quote over the phone based on pictures and measurements, they then came out and took measurements and then sent me a proper quote. the window was ordered and then installed. From start to finish they are professional and courteous. More importantly, they did a great job. read more

I reached out to WOW last winter and after carefully doing my homework and shopping around, I finally selected them to replace and install all nine windows in my townhouse in the spring. overall I received great customer service (the various people who stepped in after estimator/salesperson made sure I was happy with everything, from financing options to post-installation) and value for money. I love my new windows and will recommend WOW. read more

Windows on Washington are a great team to use for your windows/doors needs. I had them replace an old sliding glass door with a new OKNA sliding door that is very high quality. The quote process, scheduling, and install couldn't have been easier. They were willing to answer all of my questions and provided great communication before the install date. The installers were very professional, clean, and skilled. I feel comfortable that if I need support in the future, they would not hesitate to come and help out. read more

I recently had my entry door and storm door replaced. I'm absolutely thrilled with the quality of the door, the storm door, and the installation. The install team was very courteous and did a thorough job. The quality of the door is exceptional. For my install, I paid an up-charge to have the steel-reinforced door jamb on the latch side, and upgraded window framing; I'm so glad I did! The custom order time was a bit long, but overall the experience was terrific, and I recommend WoW, and the HMI door to anyone anticipating entry door replacement. read more

I called Eric and said that since I'm in the midwest, you probably can't work on my house project of new windows, siding, and doors. But would you mind if I ask you a few questions, mostly about windows and some questions about siding. Eric said you're right that I can't work on your project, but no problem about asking me questions. We spoke and emailed on several occasions, and Eric gave me substantial information with regard to my project, especially with the windows and patio door I was considering. I'm so impressed that a person who had no chance of landing my project would spend so much time answering my questions and helping me to get good products to meet my goals. Plus, Eric sounded very knowledgeable with all aspects of my project. Even as the project was being completed, Eric gave me suggestions on what to ask my installer to help ensure the installation would be done well and to my satisfaction. You'll need to look to other reviewers for their experience with Eric actually doing the installation. Eric is apparently of the philosophy that if you are low key, honest, provide excellent installation and service, your business will reap the rewards of happy customers and continuous referrals. More people in the house remodeling business should adopt this philosophy. Between my experience of getting good advice from Eric and the experience of others in this forum expressing their satisfaction, I would not hesitate to speak and meet with Eric to consider him for your project. read more

We chose this firm in part because of their reputation and we were thoroughly disappointed. We did a whole-house window replacement with them and I will say the the installation itself was professional. However, the doors they installed were not the doors we ordered and were out of compliance with our homeowners association requirements; the screens were not the type we ordered, and two of the windows were defective (the factory's fault, not WoW's). It took months to get these errors fixed, errors that mostly would not have occurred if Windows on Washington had not been careless up front. They did eventually rectify all the problems and they did not attempt to evade their responsibilities, so at least that was good. It's been a little over six months since the work was completed and both of the doors are starting to fail. I'm not sure if they are under warranty, but even if they are I am reluctant to use Windows on Washington again, so we will probably end up replacing them with another firm, a waste of thousands of dollars. read more

Windows on Washington was highly recommended by our neighbors who had work performed by the company. We are so very glad we went with WoW. From the initial sales meetings with Mr. Shonebarger to the final installation of 15 windows, the process could not have been smoother, and surprisingly quick. The windows are of a very high quality and they were installed just a few days ago. The installation team, the customer service team, everyone we dealt with at WoW - we are very impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail. We will definitely hire WoW again when we go to what we call "Phase II," which will be the installation of yet more windows in our townhouse. read more

Decided to go with Windows on Washington to have a leak in my roof repaired. I have to say that this company has been one of the best companies I've ever had to deal with. I would highly recommend Windows On Washington for any service they provide. read more

I had my windows replaced by WOW recently and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to purchase new windows. The presentation they gave me when I was looking for was by far the most in-depth and informational one that I had received. I found that extremely helpful as windows are a very pricey purchase. In terms of cost, WOWs prices were reasonable compared to the other estimates I had received. Their staff gave me updates as to the eta of my windows and always kept me in the loop. The Installation team was timely and pleasant. They were very professional and I am very satisfied with the work performed. If you are looking for windows, I would suggest giving WOW a call! read more

WoW did an excellent job. 17 new windows installed quickly, properly and cleanly. The overall process and workmanship were aligned with all other reviews and recommendations. And the personal email from the president of the company after the job was complete and survey submitted was an unexpected and thoughtful follow up. If you need new windows - high quality windows and installation without the high price - don't bother contacting anyone else. Call WoW. read more

WOW put in 12 windows and 2 sliders in my condo in July. The crew was great. Got it all done in 1 day. No mess left outside. Brandon provided good suggestions to save a little money. I love the windows and how the doors work. Thanks for the great work. read more

We had Windows on Washington do both our windows and our roof. I wanted gutter guards as well, but they don't do them if you already have gutters in place. For windows, WoW is great. They have a high quality product (Okna), and their installation team is very good at what they do. They were communicative before and during the process, and they had 20 windows installed in less than 8 hours. We had one minor issue (someone left a razor blade lying around on a couch cushion, which they immediately apologized for), but other than that, we were completely satisfied with the experience. The roofing side of the company is more problematic to recommend. They made a lot of mistakes on the initial installation, many of which I only caught by scrutinizing their work while crawling around inside my attic. For instance, the bathroom vent they were supposed to install was not functional; the eave/ridge vent system they put in had no way for air to flow due to the location of my attic insulation; white drip edge was initially put in place, even though it doesn't match my house and, as a result, is against HOA rules; etc. The crew was pretty cavalier about not bothering to pick up fallen nails (they just blew them into the grass, and, in one case, kicked a nail off of our path into the garden while we were having a conversation with them). The roofing crew was not very communicative before, during, or after the installation, and it took a lot of following up to get things fully resolved. However, I will say that WoW did do a good job of remediating the problems once they were pointed out, and I'm now satisfied with the installation. It just took a long time and a lot of discussion to get there. For windows, I would definitely use WoW again. For roof, you need to ensure that you can double check their work somehow. I felt like we got a good overall price on good quality products (all lifetime warranty), so the installation hassles on the roof should ultimately not be a big deal. Our house had been noticably cooler this summer, with no leaks from all this rain, and I'm looking forward to cheaper bills this winter as well. WoW is a good company that will work with you to make things right, even if things go wrong. You should definitely give WoW a call if windows are a part of your home improvement project. read more

Windows On Washington was great, the installers did a good job with a tough window replacement job. There were a few small hiccups leading up to the installation, but Eric the owner and his team did a good job addressing them. You do want a team that is able to address issues as they occur! Pricing seemed competitive compared to the other quotes I received. read more

Windows on Washington replaced our windows. We were extremely satisfied with the quality of the windows, the professional service and seamless installation. In early 2012, I spent considerable time searching online for information about particular types of windows having features I desired for my home. Through this effort, I found a discussion forum on which Eric Novotny from Windows on Washington was a contributor. It was clear from reading Eric's comments that he had considerable knowledge and experience in residential windows, including many of the engineering aspects of window design that bear on selecting the correct window for a particular application. After carefully reviewing my requirements, Eric proposed a particular brand and model of window that included features offering substantial performance improvements over the existing old windows. In his evaluation, Eric explained in layman's terms why he selected the particular type of window, and described in detail what to expect during the process, from ordering to installation. At no time did I ever get the impression that I was being "sold." On the contrary, Eric took great care to serve as a partner in solving the particular engineering challenge I was facing with my remodeling project. The installation process was flawless, as the Windows on Washington crew arrived on time, and worked carefully and diligently. Disruption in my home was minimal, and the crew left the working area spotless. During the installation, Eric and one of his colleagues arrived to inspect the process, and to make sure that I was satisfied with the results. Overall, the experience with Windows on Washington will remain memorable as one of very few I can honestly rate as completely exceptional, professional, and quite fairly priced for the quality offered. read more

Because I chose this company based on yelp reviews, I felt I had to create an account in order to share my disappointment with them. I needed to find out if my roof needed repair or replacing. I paid a $75 service fee for the technician to come out. (Since this was the first company I called, I didn't question the fee and they didn't explain it to me. Maybe it was due to my location?) The technician inspected the roof, told me he would recommend replacing, but would get me quotes for both repair and replacement. After several polite emails to the company, I finally got the estimate for repair two and half weeks later. I sent another email asking, again, for the replacement estimate, and have still not received it, several weeks later. In the meantime, I've gotten three free estimates from other companies and have contracted one of them to replace the roof. ETA on 4/15/14: I just received a refund of the service fee in the mail, so I wanted to update my review reflect that. read more

Windows on Washington is the best. I called 5 different companies for quotes to replace 6 windows in my 1977 home. WoW was the friendliest and most knowledgable company I talked with. I met with Gregg the sales rep and received a firm quote, not one which I had to take that day or pay more for a later decision. The windows were HiMark (Okna) series 800 which, according to my research, are in the top 5 vinyl replacement windows. I also ordered new shutters. I was told the windows would arrive in 4 to 6 weeks. In about 4 weeks I received a call from Lee saying my windows had arrived and we scheduled installation. The crew arrived at the appointed time and started working immediately. The crew was very courteous and professional. The crew did an excellent job removing the old windows and installing the new ones. They laid drop cloths throughout the whole house and vacuumed when the job was finished. I am very happy with the windows and with the sales and installation process. I would definitely consider using WoW for future projects. read more

We had a great experience with Windows on Washington. We had a relatively small job, only four basement windows, but both Greg the salesmen and the rest of the staff were respectful of our small project and treated us as any client. Their prices were in line with other estimates; however, Greg was extremely thorough and respectful in his presentation without being pushy, compared to other salesmen with whom I spoke. The process moved quickly from the day we signed the contract, and the installation staff were quick and kind. They were also very communicative throughout. Couldn't have asked for a better experience, and though we hope to not have to replace anything again soon, we will definitely use Windows on Washington again when we do. read more

There are lots of choices when it comes to windows. But once you've decided to spring for good windows it doesn't mean you have to take out a second mortgage to do so. Windows on Washington sells the Okna line of windows which get incredible ratings for quality, efficiency and design. And they are affordable! They tend to rate better than Pella and other high end designs but cost less and look the same. But beyond that, this company is a locally owned business that pays very close attention to customer satisfaction. We did not have to haggle to get a good price, the salesperson was straightforward and clear, we were not pressured to buy at ANY time. The installation took, for 20+ windows, about a half day, was clean and precise and we were satisfied with delivery of exactly the product we ordered. A day later, we noticed one little part was broken on a lock and the owner arrived quickly with replacement pieces for us. Moreover, a year later, when, through user-error, we had a window that wouldnt close on a blazing hot sunday afternoon, I was treated to a prompt and informative return call that night- Sunday night! And talked- through the solution. They were willing to send someone out to help, too, if need be. Let's see Pella or Anderson, Home depot or Lowes, provide that personal touch. We are so glad we went with the local company and not the chain. We are treated like real people. It is so important that a window company take care of its customers, after all, these are our homes. Highly recommend you get them to give you an estimate. read more

After living in the same house for 32 years, I decided to replace the existing wood frame windows because some would not open, and the ones that did open would not stay up by themselves. Thus, I started the quest for replacement windows. At the outset I will state that for large purchases such as this I tend to do extensive research before making a decision. After reading numerous reviews about window companies on line and in various magazines such as Washington Consumers' Checkbook I narrowed my choices of window companies to eight. Yes, eight because I wanted to learn as much as I could about the various window brands and about the companies themselves. I quickly found out that dealing with eight companies was nothing compared to comparing at least two dozen different brands and models of windows. Again, I finally narrowed my choices of window brands down to four. I was then able to eliminate some companies because they did not carry the brands that interested me. At this point I will mention a couple of interesting facts I learned while I interviewed the companies. First, believe it or not, all of the salespersons are not necessarily well informed about their own products. After doing online research about the four windows I was considering, I was able to address some misinformation they provided, especially regarding the various energy values of the windows. Second, some of the salespersons either are not aware of the codes related to needing tempered glass for certain windows or they simply lied to me in order to have me think that I had to get the more expensive tempered glass windows. If you are shopping for windows, check the code yourself before some salesperson convinces you that you need tempered glass. Third, some salespersons made a big deal out of the fact that their windows are "custom fit" and that precise measurements are needed so that the windows fit perfectly. At first I was impressed by that. Then I realized that basically I had three different sized windows in my house, small, medium, and large. Mine is not a custom built house and the original windows were not custom spec ones. So, in essence, I have three "standard" sized windows and the window companies simply have to verify that the replacement windows will fit in the standard openings. So unless you have some true custom type windows in your house, you will simply be getting standard windows, not "custom fit" windows. Last, a couple of salespersons gave me the "today only special price" offer. Even though I am a senior citizen, I am an informed one and will never fall for that type of offer. So what does all of this rambling have to do with Windows on Washington? Everything, really. The salesperson, Joe Bailey, was very knowledgeable about windows in general and especially about the brand and model of window I wanted. He was familiar with all of the energy specs of the window, he assured me that I did not need tempered glass in two areas where I was told by others that I needed it, he explained in detail the procedure that the crew would follow when installing the windows, and answered several other questions I had. However, I realized that Mr. Bailey was not going to personally install the windows so I was still concerned about the actual installation. During my research I kept reading how important it is to have the windows installed correctly, and that the most expensive windows will not necessarily do what they should if they are not installed properly. After watching the crew install the windows, I feel very confident that they were installed properly. The crew first put drop cloths in all areas of the house where they would be walking, and then went about their business in a very professional manner with nobody yelling at others, nobody just sitting around, and nobody acting as if they were just picked up at the local 7 Eleven store. I was especially impressed by the caulking job that was done both on the outside and inside of the windows. I've tried for years to run a smooth caulking bead with no success, so I truly admire the caulking job they did. When they were finished, they cleaned up meticulously to the point where I couldn't find one scrap of anything on the floor or on the lawn. In addition to the knowledgeable salesperson and the fantastic installation crew, one would think there is nothing else left when considering which window company to use. But there is one factor that could be even more important, and that is the warranty. If you are considering a window replacement job, ask the company if their warranty is one that covers both the product and labor for a lifetime. If not, and if that is an important factor, then contact Windows on Washington and have them do the job. Even though Windows on Washington was not the cheapest company, I was more than happy to pay the price for the salesperson, the installation crew, and the warranty. read more
