It's rare to see a 5 star business receive a low rating review like this, but unfortunately I had an incredibly disappointing experience, which I feel compelled to share with other homeowners to prevent anyone else from falling victim to their unprofessional behavior and lack of accountability. One of our large casement windows was factory damaged and no one noticed till it started to fog up over the past year. I requested a replacement as it was well within the 20 year warranty period. They asked for picture proof and I provided. I had to keep following up for 2 months because they couldn't provide a timeline for installation. When we finally aligned on a date they notified me within 1 hour of the appointment that they can't come because they had a situation. It's okay, things come up but you're suppose to provide a solution with next steps and not keep your clients waiting for an answer. What's truly disappointing is how Ken handled the situation. No one came to supervise the installation so that is a mistake on their part. Instead of acknowledging their workers' errors, they pointed fingers at me, accusing me of tampering with the frame & caulk. Mind you, none of my windows have caulk between the glass and frame. I'm so confused where that came from. I had photographic proof of the window's condition before and after installation, as well as security camera footage of their technicians using boxcutter and hammer to remove the frame (which I assume is what caused the damage). As a homeowner who had placed trust in American Windows Plus expertise, I was shocked by their lack of integrity and commitment to quality workmanship. A company that truly values its customers would have promptly addressed the issue, taken accountability for their errors, and worked towards a solution. Instead, they chose to evade responsibility and, quite frankly, tarnished their own reputation. Now, I have to live with the unsightly scars of their negligence - visible scratches and awkward caulk on the exterior window frame. Despite providing all the evidence necessary to prove their mistakes, Ken continued to deny their wrongdoing and refused to provide any solution or replacement. I share my experience here not only to vent my frustration but also to warn potential customers about the unethical practices of American Windows Plus. I believe it's essential for homeowners to make informed decisions when choosing service providers for their homes. I interviewed several companies, Anderson, Pella and more. Upon meeting John, one of the owners, I immediately felt conformable. There was no high pressure, never ending talking like the other companies did. He took me through product choices, the various price points and made great suggestions! The unique thing with this company, they are working with the best window companies in the business. Anderson, Bella, Harvey, others. They have access to all those lines. I found that refreshing. When you talk to Anderson sales people, they're selling you only Anderson windows With Windows Solutions Plus, they are suggesting the best line and the best quality for your specific home. I selected Harvey Windows, top vinyl line, based on John's suggestion and the price point. Deposit given, order was placed. Withing 6 weeks , I received notice the windows are ready for install and we booked an install, a few weeks out. The install was Thurs ( 1/24/24) The installers were great. They arrived exactly on time, Spoke well, understandable and polite. They first spent time lining the home with drop cloth , covering near by furnture with plastic. It made me comfortable that they respected my property. Then, the removal of the old windows. Very little noise and very little dust or debris. After that came the install of the windows. It was seamless, everything fit perfectly. Then, the trim work and finish trim. This is where I feel high quality carpenters are needed for a good install The team at Window Solution Plus, has great carpentry skills. The trim work both inside and outside look terrific. Spot on. The next stage was cleanup. It wasn't a 15 minute rush job. Instead, it was a well executed professional job, lasting over 1 hour. Vacuuming, dusting inside. Actually washing certain areas of the floor. Then the coup de grace, they go around the property near the outside of windows and pick-up debris by hand, then vacuum. When they leave , the inside and outside is perfect. Like they were never in my home My wife and I couldn't be more happy with our windows and this company I will hire them again in the near future and highly recommend you do the same. When Ted, from the Window People, came out to measure he wrote up the $2,700+ window order for white hardware even though the window he was replacing and every window in the house had brass hardware. The new window was installed and later I noticed the hardware did not match the old window. When I asked to have the hardware replaced, Ted wanted over $100 to swap it out. Ted and I went back and forth over "I signed for white hardware" versus "You were instructed that I wanted the exact same window as before but longer vertically". Ted wants the money... I called customer service at Marvin Corporate and Jill was great. She sent me the hardware as a courtesy at no cost. Marvin makes a great window but where you purchase it from is important and if you are looking for reasonable support I would not call The Window People.

As a board member of a building with many residents needing window repairs or replacements, I expected a much higher level of professionalism. I contacted this contractor today, and he told me he wasn't even sure when he would be available to come take measurements. When I asked for a timeframe, he couldn't even tell me whether it would take 1 or 2 weeks just to come out for simple window measurements. He said he would "let me know," yet never even took down any contact information. On top of that, the person I referred to him was also left waiting without any response or follow-up. This is no way to run a business. The customer service is extremely poor and unprofessional. I had no idea the company operated this way, otherwise I never would have referred anyone to them. Do yourself a favor and use a real window repair company like Mike the Glazier instead. The business owner has since removed his rude and unprofessional follow-up comments to my review and has now taken a much softer approach in his response. His original replies were completely nasty and disrespectful. I guess someone finally educated him on appropriate business etiquette and basic manners. Listen Taulant, you really need to work on how you communicate with people. It's not just about the quality of your work, it's also about professionalism, respect, and the way you speak to customers. Just because a job is $325 instead of $13,000 doesn't mean you should brush people off or treat them like they're not important. You know exactly what happened here, so please don't try to play the victim. I'm not trying to hurt you or hurt your business, I'm trying to teach you an important lesson. I was actually trying to help you by referring business your way and putting money in your pocket, but instead you ignored the customer I referred to you and then brushed me off as well. That's not how you build or maintain a good reputation. You also can't say things to customers like "I don't trust your measurements" or act like you'll get to their job only when you feel like it because it's a smaller project. Every customer deserves respect and proper communication regardless of the size of the job. I will eventually delete the review because my intention is not to damage your business, but I hope you truly take this as a lesson learned moving forward. How you communicate with people matters just as much as the work itself.
