I called Double R to have a storm door installed. The door has openings all across the bottom and was not installed properly. When I complained to Bob Thalheimer, the new principal of Double R, I was told the person HE sent to do the job now has his own company and Double R would not take any responsibility for the poor job. Because the person they sent has his own company should not be my problem. I don't know the person Double R sent or his new company. Double R won't stand behind their work, won't even talk to me about it! After all the years of dealing with Double R, I will never call them again. In addition to paying Double R for the door and poor installation; I now have to pay someone else to correct it.

Like many contractors I've worked with over the past 30 years, there's always room for improvement in safety protocols--but overall, they did a solid job keeping their crew safe. Cleanup could have been a little better, which is pretty common with roofing projects. That said, Danny came back the next day with a magnet to double-check for nails in my gray gravel driveway (which is tough to search), and sure enough, he found and removed a few. That kind of follow-through matters. And here's a major plus: the job came in at a good price with long-term interest-free financing--a rare and excellent bonus. We weren't planning to replace the skylight but the numbers made sense. When we filed our taxes for that year we learned that the skylight they used did NOT qualify for the tax credit. They mislead us to spending an extra $2,500 on the job. When I called to complain I left a message but no one ever returned my call. This is after they didn't do a good job on the roof and it took them months to come back and fix the leaks they caused. STAY AWAY!!
