The biggest job I've hired him for so far was to brace/strengthen and refinish my deck. I had the decking replaced last year, but didn't get around to finishing it after it had seasoned. A year passed and the wood was starting to look dry and cracked. My little daughter couldn't go out barefoot anymore because she would get splinters every time. Kris gave me a competitive quote and made an excellent recommendation on a material to refinish and protect the decking. Now the deck looks brand new, it has a little bit of texture to provide traction if it's wet, no more splinters, and it's super easy to clean. It was an all-day job for Kris and two helpers, and I couldn't be happier. I appreciate that Kris is willing to do some little jobs too. I hired him to clean my gutters, and another time I hired him to do some repair work and repainting to part of the exterior of my house. It's good to have a business like KAR that you can always call on to do good work for anything related to home improvement or home repair.

Kris and his crew essentially rebuilt my entire home over a 3 month period. Spanning from wall removal, bathroom renovation, rerouting electrical, custom sink installs,, adjusting floor deflections, baseboard customization, door installs, crown molding and painting. Literally everything I could throw at him was not only done on time, but it was done right and at the price quoted with no surprises and there was zero worry about leaving him and his team to work without me home or around my dog. Even the most mundane jobs, like silencing every creak in every floorboard and hot water pipe in the house was done and Kris refused to leave the job site until it was completed. I am please to write a review about our most recent experience with M&N Construction for the work…read moredone in my home. This was our first time using this company for the staircase landing leading up to the main entrance and pavers. It has been nearly 2 years since we moved into this home and needed renovation to the outside of our home, so we was excited when Melvin and his crew came on board to help us accomplish that especially during covid. Melvin and his crew worked so hard to be done within the time frame promised which was 5 days and I was very optimistic from the start. Upon completion we hired them again to do the basement because we had to fire the guys who was doing our basement which was at the same time melvin was refacing the front of our home. We asked melvin if he wanted to take on in sealing the floor and painting the basement and so he did. Their work was done in such a timely and professional manner we acted fast and had him look at our backyard where we wanted to add a floating deck by extending it another 15×16 feet. He replied by saying that "He specializes in Decks which was his favorite area of work. We actually had to let another guy go because he was going to be done in 14weeks and he didn't even start yet, and Melvin and his crew was going to take 7 days. At this point it's business and nothing personal. The crew couldn't have been more courteous and conscientious to detail also very patient with my vision in how I needed it to look. When he began, I have to admit that I was skeptical. I just did not see what I was invisioning and describing but that's because it was just all a mess back there (see Photos) Again I'm so pleased to report that the crew worked tirelessly and pretty silently throughout the week onsite and demonstrated respect during their brief encounters with us. Overall the jobs involved waiting for permits, digging, scraping, cementing, building, cutting & painting. Once finished, the cleanup could've been better and that's the only Con I have. I am partial to supporting and maintaining a relationship with a true contractor. M&N has demonstrated the same quality of work from our first project to the current ones. Before the project began, I requested/checked references provided. I also spotted their ongoing work throughout yelp, so I made it a point to privately embark on my own personal inspection as I do with everything. I have already determined that I will be using M&N Construction for our next project around Spring 2021 for now our In-Home renovation and I would be happy to offer a more detailed recommendation and referral if/when needed. In April I was looking for an estimate for both siding and gutters. L&G was reasonable on the…read moresiding however their gutter cost was absurd compared to 5 other reputable competitors. I really wanted to use L&G so I questioned the gutter cost that was near double the lowest price point, as well I asked why we had to remove my current wood panels to install the siding when 5 other contractors felt it was better to install over the wood. Basically I was told my house would not look right and that the gutters were the lowest without them losing money. I reconnected with the other contractors and questioned the removal of the wood as I was curious if they were trying to save me money to win the bid and if that was actually best for my home. All 5 agreed it was actually better to install over. Fast forward, I went with a contractor who did not do gutters - so I waited to call gutter professionals when the siding was done. I collected 4 estimates as well as some to roof a barn shed. Ironically all these quotes were half of L&G's gutter quote which is what I found with the other siding contractors. One contractors who didn't do roofs suggested I reconnect with L&G. I did. I explained why I didn't use them and told them I was looking for the cheapest solution (product) to roof the shed. I asked if they would consider coming out for a fair estimate without any fluff or unnecessary add ons. The shed is nothing that need a spectacular metal roof and precision shingling. L&G declined coming out to provide a fair estimate and related they would not be the cheapest.
