Every contractor who came before seemed to patch a different area, but the problems always came back eventually. Goldenberg Roofing BK broke the cycle. After inspecting the roof, they showed us several areas where water had been ponding for a long time and explained how the existing drainage layout was contributing to the deterioration. The project involved a full tear-off, new flat roofing system, updated flashing, and improvements around the drains. The crew worked efficiently, kept the roof organized throughout the project, and provided updates along the way. We've been through several major storms since completion and the roof has performed exactly as hoped.

Had I felt pressured or up-sold, I would have been at home depot pricing ladders and safety harnesses. Did I mention I hate paying anybody to do stuff in my house. I called 3 roofers on a Friday morning after spending a night with my bedroom looking like the Captain's Quarters of the Titanic. One of them had an answering machine, and the other had automatic service tell me they would call me back by Tuesday of the following week (Neither ever called back). The third, George Ray, answered the phone, checked his schedule and agreed to come by later that day for an estimate. He called me to confirm, arrived on time, took is time looking at my ceiling and roof from multiple angles, pointed out the problem area (sliding roof tiles and broken siding), gave me fair estimates for the repair OR the entire roof which I will soon need (my roof is 20 years old). He then checked with his crews and agreed to do the work the next day ahead of a pending rain storm. The next day at 7AM they rang the bell and started work. The crew worked quietly, were thorough, cleaned up, and left within 4 hours. Mr. Ray came by as they left, confirmed the work was done correctly, answered questions, and assured me they would return to do the job again for free if I had any problems in that area. Three massive rain storms later...I am still a satisfied customer. He is likely to get a call from me (hopefully not real soon) when I am forced to do the entire roof. In the meantime I have already recommended him to a close friend two blocks away who needed a roofer.

This here is a review for Jon and the Big Apple Renovators' crew for their roof replacement job…read more(June 2022). What started out as a minor roof repair for a water leak developed into one of my better home investment decisions. As a first-time homebuyer experiencing an ongoing leak, I weighed my options for a roof repair with several roofing contractors. What stood out about Jon and his team was their positive reviews and responsiveness. An estimator came to my home in less than 12 hours for a free quote and more importantly, provided insight to where the water was coming from and options to remedy the problem. Based on my conversations I decided to go with a small, repair job. When the roofers began their work, the situation evolved into something more serious. Inside I feared this all along: that a repair would only delay the water from eventually coming back into the house. And that's when I talked it over in person with Jon. He sparked my inner financier and advised that a complete roof replacement would be a long-term investment for the home and the work would be covered for 50 years under the GAF warranty. I agreed. Unbelievably, his crew of 10 guys showed up the next morning, and like a well-oiled machine, completed the job that same day. Jon and his crew were a pleasure to deal with and I appreciate them fitting me into their schedule on such short notice. I put utmost value in customer service and Jon exceeded them completely. Only time will tell how the roof holds up, but I'm confident if there's any issues, he'll be the first to know and respond. Peace of mind goes a long way, thanks Jon and B.A.R.!
