For the first time I realize I had been hearing a fair amount of outside noise (which I'd apparently gotten used to), because these windows/doors are soundproof; now I don't hear anything at all from outside! And even better, the windows are easy to open, and my sliding glass doors actually slide well in the track, and are not shaking and drafty when it's windy outside -- major improvements from my old, builder-grade, 20+ year-old windows/sliding door. Further, the service crew was excellent -- careful, kind, professional, efficient, and they cleaned up everything afterwards. Roger, the foreman, has been doing this work for almost 30 years, and Jose, who single-handedly carried in/out the windows/doors, has been doing this work for 10+ years. I didn't get the name of the quiet third service person who was mostly outside and on the ladders, also very efficient. fyi, they did mention that working on the 4th floor of our condos from ladders was a bit more challenging as the original builder-grade windows had been made to fit by being packed/taped in place from the outside, which necessitated them having to actually break some of the glass to be able to pull the old windows out. But they did it - and did it well. Finally, Shaun, the project manager who gave me my estimate and oversaw the project from estimate, HOA approval process, to completion, was great. Highly recommended.

With regards to the heating of our home, the windows were no better than screens. I reached out, looking for windows and installers. I had a few people come in and estimate the job. None of them impressed me until Greg from Windows on Washington came over. He walked me through several options and explained how the windows they used were manufactured and why. Windows on Washington got the job. My windows and my doors were being manufactured. So they sent out a wonderful gentleman to get the final accurate measurements. Great guy. After that, communication was wonderful as were were assessed of the stage we were in. This included when we got the email and calls explaining that, since we were on a higher floor, they needed to bring in some equipment to lift the new doors up to our balcony. No surprises. Installation day was amazing as Joon and his team came in, got everything into place, and cleaned up the areas to better than when they got here. Joon then went over the features on our windows and even explained how we get to and clean the outsides of the glass. Wonderful man and amazing team. Since then, we have gotten copies of our warranty and the guarantees. And the company has reached out twice to ask if we have any questions and to ensure that we are happy with our windows. We are. We are very happy with our windows. Almost as happy as we are with the people who got them into our home.

However, I didn't use that company because they wanted a lot of money to redo windows and doors. Some time later I remembered Zen windows and reached out to them for a quote. It was the best decision we have ever made. I cannot recommend the Zen Windows team highly enough for their outstanding work in replacing the windows and doors in our townhome. From start to finish, their professionalism, attention to detail, and craftsmanship were truly exemplary. Every step of the process was handled with precision and care--no detail was overlooked. The team took the time to ensure that every window and door fit perfectly, operated flawlessly, and met our expectations. Their expertise was evident in their meticulous installation and their ability to troubleshoot any challenges that arose. Not only were they efficient and on time, but they left our home clean and tidy at the end of each day. It's rare to find a team that combines skill, professionalism, and a commitment to customer satisfaction, but Zen Windows delivered on all fronts. If you're considering window or door replacement, trust Zen Windows--you'll be thrilled with their results. They've completely transformed our home, and we couldn't be happier with their work.

My project was complicated because my 1980s drywall shafts were the wrong size for modern solar blinds. Instead of just "making it work" or creating a huge mess with drywall dust, Zach proposed a brilliant custom solution: building a clean birch veneer box with custom trim. It looks stunning and kept my house completely dust-free. What impressed me most was Zach's integrity. During the install, a small piece of my old plastic molding snapped. Instead of ignoring it, Zach took full ownership and replaced the trim on both skylights with upgraded foam-backed wood molding at his own expense to ensure everything was airtight and uniform. It is not a simple fix but an upgrade, for free. See the attached before/after pictures and the broken plastic. Like most customers, I contacted a few contractors before selecting Winfield Builders. Their price is VERY reasonable, and the communication through Yelp was professional and transparent. It is rare to find a contractor who cares this much about the details. If you want a crew that is honest, skilled, and delivers a beautiful finish, call Zach. 1000% recommendation!

Zach made a strong impression from the start--when he came out to inspect my roof and I told him of a problem area, he went up on the roof to look at it! The larger size has made a huge difference, as they're less likely to get clogged. My home is in good shape thanks to Winfield Builders!

A week or so before the installation was scheduled, I emailed our Pella Project Coordinator, who I had already been in contact with, to ask if Pella could provide me with the interior dimensions of the window so that I could order a window shade online via SelectBlinds. I made it very clear in my email that this was why I was asking for the dimensions. I even said that if those dimensions were impossible to provide for the purposes of measuring a shade before the window goes in, that would be fine, and to just let me know. The Project Coordinator responded with the dimensions I asked for, and didn't indicate there would be any problem using them for what I asked. Of course, after the window was installed, the shade didn't fit, and since it was cut to order, it couldn't be returned. This was a slight annoyance but not a huge deal in my mind. I'd just contact Pella for a refund on the shade (a mere $200 on a $7k job) and order a new one. The emails made it clear it was Pella's error, and I was expecting an easy resolution. But Pella put me in contact with site supervisor David Aramino. When Mr. Aramino called me, his speech was slurred and he was talking very loudly into the phone. He told me that a refund is "not gonna happen" just because I misunderstood the measurements, and that I should've asked Pella about it before ordering the shade. When I asked him to take a moment to read the emails to see that I had actually asked Pella before ordering the shade, he became nervous, defensive, and louder. He alternated between telling me that he wouldn't read the emails because they "don't matter" and that he had in fact read the emails (although he clearly hadn't since he kept telling me I should've done things I had already done). Any time I attempted to calmly explain the facts of the situation, he would shout into the phone, at one point saying something along the lines of "I can't believe you're still talking to me." I asked him if he would give me the name and number of his supervisor so I could resolve the issue with someone who could engage politely. He told me it was his personal policy not to give out that information. He then walked away from the phone with it on the hook. We attempted to resolve the issue by contacting the sales rep, but he did not return our calls.
