For several weeks, we had been looking for a vendor to install a new Milgard Tuscany sliding patio door to replace a 30 year old aluminum frame door. Finally, we found Window Station. Everyone associated with this company is informative, nice, professional and prompt. Our initial call was taken by Irina, who promptly put us in touch with Igor. Igor asked us to text him two interior and exterior pictures of the door with dimensions. Based on that, he was able to email us a price estimate for a new construction replacement door in the style of our choosing. Within a day of our approval, Igor was at our house, taking fast, precise and thorough measurements. Window Station handled the ordering of the door directly from the manufacturer, in this case Milgard. They also took care of ordering the door moulding or our choice, in this case from The Moulding Company (another great Bay Area vendor). Once they received the door, Window Station contacted us. We scheduled a date for installation and two days later, Mikhail and Barry were at the house with the new door. Both were a pleasure to work with. Together, they got out the old door, installed the new door and left the door and surrounding interior looking immaculate, complete with caulking and moulding. They did a beautiful job. The work area was left clean, vacuumed and dust free. Mikhail and Barry handled haul away of the old door as well. With a stucco exterior on our house, we were concerned about having to break the stucco to do new construction. Window Station sent out a separate crew within 24 hours of door installation to perform a perfect exterior stucco match. We can't say enough good things about this company. I went with window station to replace 3 very large (over 9.5 feet tall) windows in my home, which were broken by my neighbor being careless with a slingshot. Because the original large single pane windows were no longer to code, I had to upgrade to dual pane tempered glass windows. I wanted the very best quality, so I chose Marvin windows which are top of the line and offer narrow frames in large custom sizes. After getting quotes from other top rated window and door companies, I selected window station because they had very high reviews and their price was very competitive. Cal Coast quoted me much higher and was not willing to negotiate at all. So, I went with Window Station and I am very happy that I did. Their price for all three windows and installation was $2k lower than Cal Coast. The sales rep Igor was very knowledgeable, friendly, and he communicated well. Igor is very customer-focused, and so was the installation crew. Because I ordered such custom windows in the middle of the pandemic, the manufacturer took 3.5 months to deliver the windows to Window Station. Igor communicated with me throughout, and he scheduled installation within two business days of receiving the windows. The guys removed the old broken windows and installed all three new windows in one day. The crew was very friendly and respectful, and they cleaned up pretty well. I'm still in a state of near disbelief on the quality / price deal I got working with Vadim at Window Station. I was seeking to replace a set of inswing French doors that had been improperly installed sometime in the past 30 years by our house's previous (or pre-previous?) owner. The old doors lacked proper ledge support, which led to the sill separating, which led to water intrusion and dry rot, meaning we were very motivated to do things right this time. It also meant that we needed someone who was willing to be ethical in their estimate of how much dry rot repair would be needed. Vadim included repair of all of the visible dry rot in his bid, while other companies offered to include this only at exhorbitant cost, or bid very high amounts to evaluate the dry rot separately. (It's worth mentioning that when we removed the old doors, we could confirm that there was no additional dry rot damage beyond what was visible, and it's possible the other companies feared there was more damage.) Vadim also was generous with his time during the visit to give me a bid, explaining the cost / benefit advantages of different patio door options. (We wanted something with wood on the inside but fiberglass on the outside for low maintenance.) He also offered me a rather incredible deal on a discontinued but high quality outswing French door (Milgard Ultra WoodClad) that he had lying around his warehouse that a previous customer had changed their mind on. Because this door was almost exactly what we wanted (the outside color was a bit different but that was fine) and the wait was much shorter than ordering a new door (~4 weeks), we went with the special. And are we glad we did. It looks gorgeous! A note: while we initially were looking for a sliding patio door to avoid water intrusion, we learned from some research that outswing French doors are better for water resistance than inswing ones, which also made us accept the deal. The two workers arrived right on time on the arranged day, worked diligently, cleaned up well, and took about 8 hours for the whole job including the dry rot repair. Some more details: the cost offered was a bit under $4000 for three of the French style sliding door options - Milgard Essence, Anderson 400 series and some other one I forgot. (As a point of comparison, if you order such doors straight from Home Depot or Beronio without installation, you're looking at about $2300.) Other companies' bids were higher than this and didn't include the dry rot repair. However the Milgard Ultra option we chose was an even better price that I will not print here because I don't think it is realistic for most customers and I don't want to hurt anyone's business! Regarding logistics, Window Station does most communications by phone. I had to be proactive in calling to arrange the appointment and permits, but ultimately everything went off without a hitch. They will be our first call if and when we do more window and door upgrades here. read more
