Skyline Sunrooms and Patio Covers

I had an old 1959 aluminum patio cover that was so thin it would radiate the heat onto the patio…read morefloor and right through my living room glass doors. I finally had it replaced last April 2025 by Skyline Patio and Sunrooms with an insulated cover. One year later, it has passed the test through hot weather, rain and wind. No more frying eggs on the concrete floor! I was very very happy with the service I received from this company. Joe, the manager, and Rick design rep, Darrin construction manager, Andrea production coordinator, Dianna sales coordinator, and others that came to do the work on site, were all professional and a real blessing in getting my new patio cover designed and put together with the features I wanted. The crew that worked on site demonstrated much care and passion in the work they did. The crew took time to answer my questions and even made a video on my phone so I could remember how the wiring was done for my patio light and fan. I have gutters on each side and also had outlets put in. Today the temperature in my backyard in the sun is 102°F. In the shade of my Avocado tree the temp is 96°F. The ambient temperature under my insulated patio cover is 84°F!! That's an 18 degree difference! The company responded quickly to my initial call and once material was in, had the work completed within 2 days. They took down and removed the old cover, prepped the areas needed, and cleaned up afterwards. Out of all the companies I met with, Skyline Sunrooms came out as my top choice. I highly recommend Skyline Patio and Sunrooms to anyone. They have a cute little showroom, too!

We have enjoyed many meals under the patio cover and the room it is connected to is noticeably cooler, due to the shade it provides. We are happy that we went with Skyline.

After getting bids from four contractors to replace our old, wood pergola at our front entrance…read morewith a new, aluminum patio cover, we decided to go with Pacific Patio. Steve, the co-owner, was most patient and thorough in accommodating our needs, including drainage and lighting, and helping us think through the design and materials. The price was reasonable. JD, the project manager, was great, keeping us abreast of what was going on as the project proceeded. The crew--Jesse and Randal, Robert and Anthony--were likewise a pleasure to work with. The end product is a pleasure to look at, eliciting many positive comments from neighbors and thumbs-up from passers by.

This review concerns only my experience with Pacific Patio's bidding process. The proposal I received did not include any meaningful detail about the materials that would be used. When I asked specific questions--such as whether the support posts would be steel or aluminum--the salesperson refused to answer. Instead, he responded sarcastically, "Do you want me to tell you what kind of bolts we're going to use?" My answer is yes. The materials matter. The type of bolts, fasteners, posts, and other structural components affects the durability and safety of the finished product. Lower-quality hardware may perform differently under wind loads and over time, so it's reasonable for a customer to know what is being proposed. I repeatedly asked for a list of the materials that would be used, but the salesperson would not provide one. Without that information, I had no meaningful way to compare Pacific Patio's proposal with competing bids. Just as importantly, I would have had no clear basis for holding the contractor accountable if different materials were substituted during the project. The salesperson also became increasingly dismissive as I continued asking for this information. That lack of transparency and professionalism led me to award the project--worth approximately $100,000--to another contractor. I'm sharing this experience so that prospective customers know to ask for a detailed written description of the materials included in any proposal before making a decision.

We met him at the Escondido Farmers Market one day when he was selling the most beautiful plumerias. He delivered them to our house, and we asked what kind of work he does when we saw his truck. We happened to be looking for someone to build a patio cover at the time, and he immediately gave us a quote right then. No BSing like most contractors who go home and think about how much they can overcharge on things. We were quoted so many ridiculous prices from other companies, Mr. Ron had them all beat. To top it all off, this is alumawood material, so it lasts for life. It's lightweight, comes with an installed gutter system, and there's no re-staining required like with wood. Once the material was in hand (which didn't take long), Mr. Ron was done within a couple of days and we were outside enjoying our patio. Check out the pics! Thank you so much Hardy Built! Tip: Check out his plumerias for sale!

He was careful at the outset to understand my vision and incorporate existing and future lighting needs. He can't even count how many of these he's installed over the years, but the cool one he did in Vista/S Melrose years ago made a difference when we were looking for ideas. Well done, Hardybuilt team!
