I don't have the names of everyone at ACE Hardware that were so very kind. The two Managers, and one very lovely older woman were stellar. The security guard at TJ Maxx located my wallet. Soon enough, he got on the PA and within a minute, I had two associates there to help me. I asked a few questions and one of the guys was really straightforward and clear about the answers. Ace Hardware Corporation is an American hardware retailers' cooperative based in Oak Brook, Illinois, United States. It is the world's largest hardware retail cooperative, and the largest non-grocery American retail cooperative. Founded in 1924 as "Ace Stores", the company changed its name to "Ace Hardware Corporation" in 1931. It grew dramatically following World War II, more than tripling its sales between the late 1940s and 1959. After the retirement of longtime president and founder Richard Hesse in 1973, Ace was sold to its retailers, becoming a retailer-owned cooperative. It first reached $1 billion in wholesale sales in 1985 and $5 billion in 2015. As of 2019, it has over 5,200 locations in 60 countries. Ace operates 17 distribution centers in the United States, and additional distribution facilities in China, Panama, and the United Arab Emirates. This particular store on Seabreeze is located in the large strip mall that houses the LA Fitness, TJ Maxx and the Total Wines and more...so it's easy to find and to park.

The Fort Lauderdale location had plenty in stock, so I decided to check it out. I pulled into the large two-level parking garage and found a decent spot. Upon entering, I approached an employee and showed him the picture of the disposable gloves from their website on my phone, asking where I could find them. He quickly stated the the gloves were sold online and then proceeded to tell me which aisle carried disposable gloves. The aisle had a small section of disposable gloves for specific uses. I took a few minutes to weigh my options, then made my choice and headed to checkout. Before the cashier scanned the item, I asked her opinion regarding the use of the gloves for marinating meat. She looked at the gloves and asked if there were specific ones I wanted. I showed her the picture from their website. She used a store device to look up the item and told me it was in stock and where to find it. While thanking the employee for her help, I couldn't help wondering why the previous employee couldn't do the same. There they were, in the aisle with all the grilling items. At checkout, I realized the item was marked down, which was even better. I got what I actually wanted and I'm glad that I went with my gut to ask somebody else who provided exceptional customer service.

They cancel orders without notifying you and send you a refund gift card by MAIL so that all of your money is tied up for a week! I had to order a similar tool which said it would be there when I needed it but it was a "bait and switch" because it later updated to say that it would arrive right AFTER I needed it. Here's the deal: No one is apologetic about these things. In fact, they are insecure and combative. I spoke with a young man yesterday and I repeatedly asked him to allow me to finish my sentence and explain because he was interrupting me and antagonizing me as if I was trying to fight with him. I very sincerely asked for help due to all of the mess ups with my order so far. I simply wanted to see if the item I ordered from another store was in stock at that store. The boy was infuriating. I've really never encountered anyone so terribly antagonistic for zero reason. This Lowes let me down. Only in town for a short while and depended on the craftsman battery set up for the 20v tools they said would be there. Without them, I can't work. To add insult to injury, no one gives a damn about their job or their customers here. Two stars because a young woman 3 days ago showed civility and a bit of empathy agreeing with me that it wasn't right. Otherwise, zero stars for this upside down place. Update: I had to return to this Lowes when I didn't have a car. I met Mary in appliances. Because she acts like a real person truly equipped and interested in helping others, I ended up buying. a suite of appliances. She loves her job. You can tell. You don't have to love the job. You don't have to love me but there is a certain way to treat people that is just common decency. I hadn't encountered that until that day. Actually there were quite a few people who were helpful that day. Raising my 2 star to 4 stars because of Mary.

I guess everyone has had different experiences with Hanna, but all of mine have been very good. Hanna Paint and Hardware is a smaller privately owned hardware store which for me offers a much better shopping experience than I have at the big box stores such as Lowes or Home Depot. Hanna's is a place where I can easily find someone knowledgeable to give me shopping assistance and sound advice. I know that one time I walked into Hanna asking for a specific item and the clerk told me, even though he did carry that item, it was really not the best hence not what I should want. So, I picked up the other item he recommended and yes, he was so right and it was so much better. The chances of me getting good advice like that elsewhere are at best, remote.
