The tables were clean, and there were lively pool matches happening all around. We started off with lunch. I had a salad and got some extra chicken and wow... some of the most tender, flavourful chicken breast I've ever had dining outside. I went in with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised. My teammates also seemed happy with their food. There were also vegetarian options available. Then we played pool. Everything was set up neatly, and easy to access. The poolhall is dimly lit and has a cozy vibe. It's easy to get into your game, even though there are matches happening all around you.

Update of review for 2025:…read more Cornerbank is a bar/pool hall with a darker aesthetic. (Low lighting) We went for happy hour (4-6pm on a Friday) and had $5 bar rails, $7 chicken bites, and full price pretzels $9. We played an hour of pool on the 9ft tables. They also have 7ft tables for rent. The chicken bites were really good in a Nashville sauce (a bit spicy). The pretzels were served hot with a honey mustard sauce. Both were great and I would definitely eat again. Overall the food this time was much better and the drinks weren't too watered down (ask for less ice). Positive experience!

Ambiance - 4/5: similar to most sports bar, it's dim and loud with a lot of sports games on tv. They had a lot of reservations so the tables were split off for our small reservation. It felt a little tight. There seems to be 2 levels of seating. Service - 3.75/5: we got there early but they were nice enough to seat us early. The host sweetly pulled out my seat for me. It took us awhile to decide what to order but the server was patient with us. He checked in on us a few times. Maybe because the tables are tight, servers kept knocking into my chair seving other patrons and my seat is all the way into the table. Food - 3.5/5: I appreciate that the menu gives little historical moments that happened over the years. we ordered: Spinach dip - comes with chips and pita. Some of the chips were heavily seasoned. The pita is soft but doesnt really absorb much of the spinach dip. The dip itself is light in flavor. I prefer the chips over the pita Steak frites - we ordered medium rare and they got the cook right. The steak knife is very bendy. It should have been a AAA striploin but for some reason it felt tough and was hard to cut through. The charcoal grill marks made the exterior too burnt, giving it a bitterness to the steak. It came with an arugula salad and a very genorous portion of fries. Everything was seasoned well. The arugula salad and the chimmichuri on the steak had a tartness to it which added some brightness to the dish. I typically don't use ketchup but I needed it to help me with the fries. I could not finish the fries Sundae - there's probably only 1 scoop worth of vanilla ice cream. It comes in a cup with whipped cream and berries. Overall: 3.75/5 - If we come back, I might try other food items.

We absolutely love this place. It's the perfect sports bar: an insane number of gigantic TVs, all showing different games, high-energy vibes, and consistently great service. Food-wise, we ALWAYS get the Garlic Knots; they're our absolute favourite. We've never had a bad menu item here, and the drinks are always solid. One important tip: I highly recommend booking in advance, especially on any sort of game day. This place fills up fast, and for good reason. If you're visiting Toronto and want the ultimate game-day atmosphere with great food, you can't go wrong here. For more travel and food reviews, check out our YouTube channel -- A&M Roam!

I didn't go in myself, I dropped ma off for what she thought was karaoke on a Friday night. Turns…read moreout, it was jammy-oke, which, for those unfamiliar, is like karaoke but with a live band. Cool concept if you're into that, but it's definitely a different vibe than choosing a track from a catalog and singing along. From what I gathered, the band was friendly and offered an alternative when they didn't know the song my mom wanted to sing, but she opted out and left shortly after. No big deal. The place looked decent from the outside, kind of like the kind of pub you'd slip into for a pint and some low-key tunes. Later, I mentioned the experience during a karaoke chat somewhere else, and people who had been to Queen Victoria Pub spoke well of the jammy-oke setup. So, while it wasn't the right fit for my mom that night, others seem to enjoy it. Probably worth checking out if you're open to a more live-jam kind of karaoke scene.

But I found this pub had halibut on the menu so I ordered two dinners plus a side (1 lbs) of wings. The food arrived hot and the fish was very good. The portion size was decent and the fries were still edible. I often find when ordered for home delivery fries seldom make the trip. I kind of wished more restaurants/ pubs vented their boxes so the fries did not get too soggy. I did find my order came with a generous portion of tartar sauce but they served white vinegar not malt. A bit of a faux pas here. I did find the wings a bit under done. I guess I prefer a bit of a crisp so I popped those in my air fryer for 5 minutes at 400 ° F. After that they made a tasty side.
