IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME, MONEY AND SAFETY/THE SAFETY OF YOUR PASSENGERS, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!! If I could give negative 5 stars I absolutely would. I recently purchased a 2013 Subaru Outback for $13,000, I expressed concern to some of the shaking I got when turning and was told buy sales and service it was from the brake pads sitting and the more I drive it would go away, fast forward a few days the shaking is getting noticeably worse and also started hearing a grinding noise. I looked up Derry mechanics and called the first one with great reviews. Never been there, totally unbiased. The mechanic immediately told me they have a reputation for selling faulty/ unsafe cars to the public and not honoring their warranty and he deals with their customers all the time. He looked at my car and found the heat shield fastened on with TWIST TIED COAT HANGERS (see pictures below) the heat shield was hanging off causing the grinding. This is how they fix their $13,000 cars, same as a $300 civic...The shaking had not yet been determined, I had a feeling it was the tires as they were mismatched and 1 had a slow leak, but wasn't certain. I go down without an appointment to make SURE I speak to someone (after being told if I call they will not get back to me/ get the car in until you've driven 1,000+ miles, voiding your warranty) and after showing them pictures of the coat hanger on my car they told me to bring it in the following week. I had to spend $200 to rent a car for 2 days for them to change 2 tires...said they did an alignment too but clearly did not. He also didn't even replace the right tires, he replaced the front tires but not the one with a leak in the back The mechanic told me with great confidence that he test drove it and the shaking was GONE. The very next time I drove it not only was the shaking still there, but it got much worse and started making a loud humming noise. Come to find out 2 of the bearings are bad as well. And on top of all that, a week later it sprung a MASSIVE oil leak (picture also attached below). Instead of having to spend money on a rental car again and wait another week for them to still not fix the problem, I decided to go with a COMPETENT mechanic and never have to deal with these shady people again. It's worth noting I also had my fathers mechanic (also a trusted Derry mechanic) take a look and he had the same warnings for me about windham auto and even went as far as not wanting to work on the car because "they are extremely vindictive and I don't need them vandalizing my shop for exposing their wrongdoings". When bringing my car back the the dealer I told them I had been warned by multiple mechanics in the area that their cars were unsafe. To which they responded "Let me guess it was ______ wasn't it?" Naming yet a THIRD mechanic shop that has warned people to stay away from them in the Derry area. I then called this 3rd shop and as expected they told me the same thing. This just goes to show that they have a notorious reputation in the community for being shady, unethical and putting you/ your family in a vehicle that they know is unsafe or unreliable. So I strongly urge you to learn from my experience and the countless others who have reviewed here for being scammed by these people. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM WINDHAM AUTO SHMUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

My parents bought a car here in December. 6 weeks later it has major issues. It should have never passed inspection. The best part was the way the owner, Mike, completely flipped out when I told him the "worst case scenario" cost of the repairs. We don't know how much it will cost yet. I tried to explain that but he was so busy being a bully telling me "If I want Free Help, I HAVE to bring it to him"... first of all why would I bring it to him just because of the horrible attitude I was getting. Second, nobody was asking for "Free Help", maybe just some reasonable percentage compensation? There was no reasoning or negotiation with this man. He's lucky there's no Lemon Law in NH. We will be getting the repairs done by someone we trust and treats us with respect and then we will be (unfortunately) dealing with this rude person again. I wouldn't go near this place. The salespeople are desperate and the customer service is disgusting. I can't wait to read the completely fake response I get just like everyone else who has had a horrible experience. The only thing that was wrong was the rear headlight had condensation and within hours they fixed it for me. Jimmy was extremely accommodating to any request I had within reason. I've been coming here on and off for about a week or so to look for cars and I drove a few and all of them had problems, and to top that off the Ford that I took off the lot couldn't even go over 20 and the RPMs were flying above four and I had to put the hazards on and drive like 5 miles an hour to even get back to the dealership and when I mentioned the fact that the Ford drove that way, the salesman asked me if it was in drive what kind of question is that how would I have been able to drive it back onto the lot upper hill if it was in neutral, or not, and drive and completely disregarded my feelings of feeling unsafe. I finally found a car that I thought I wanted, a Honda civic They wouldn't even negotiate on the price whatsoever after my whole week going them telling me how flexible they are and he can negotiate and I pointed out several things that were wrong with the car one being a smell of burning rubber coming from the tires , the salesman. Jimmy just brushed me off and said there was no smell I had two other people with me as well , if they could've just negotiated a little bit maybe we could've made a deal it's not weird for someone to feel uneasy about a business after driving one of their cars that was posted for almost $8000 and it couldn't even get off the lot and drive safe. If you were to buy a car from here I would suggest bringing it to a really nice mechanic you can trust because you cannot trust these guys !!!!! to add insult to injury. He called this morning explained what was wrong with it and worked with me as much as he could. Upon dropping my van off yesterday I was greeted with smiles and warm greetings. I was looking for an inexpensive car for my daughter, we had been looking all day for a car and had some less than desirable experiences at some of the other lots we went to. When we arrived to Windham Auto Sales, they had a large selection of good vehicles under $10,000. All of the vehicles had the prices and information clearly marked on them and the key to each car was already in the car doors so you could check the car out and start the motor before deciding on what vehicle to test drive. I brought my 17 yr. old son here to purchase his first car. I wanted it to be a good experience and told him it is better then a private sale because it's from a dealer and they make sure the cars are ready for sale and safe to drive. Was I wrong!! After purchasing a car for $6k (all his saved up money) we drove out feeling good. A month in, the engine light comes on saying " low oil pressure engine off", and a low evap code. It comes on and off. We were checking all fluids etc, a week after that, the key gets stuck in the ignition and wont turn the car off. After trying everything, we had to pull the fuse. Had to have it towed to Volkswagon and they had to order a new steering column from Germany = $1600. Now here we are at five months of ownership and the car had to be towed to another shop and we are told that the engine needs to be replaced. Approximately 4k to replace!! A 6k car with 107k miles is now needing almost another 6k to run. Horrible horrible experience. This place needs to go under. Save yourself time, money, and heartache and stay away. Absolute worst experience for us to endure on what was supposed to be an exciting memorable moment. read more

I had an excellent experience this past November! If you are searching for dealership where you feel welcomed, not rushed, no pressure and a ton of knowledge then look no further. I am a father of two young kids and needed a safe and reliable vehicle and I heard great reviews from people I know, plus the website caught my attention with the quality and value. Steve took care of me very well and took the time and patience to literally test drive car after car for 2 days lol. I actually felt kinda bad and when I expressed this to Steve, he made me feel much better by completely reassuring me over and over. Also, it is imperative that I tell you how super cooperative Steve was, staying open late past closing 2 nights in a row to make sure that I was able to drive my newly purchased 2005 Subaru off the lot. Which by the way, I absolutely love my Subaru! It had only 88,000 miles, one owner, all the maintenance records, and was literally in mint condition. There is zero % chance I could've found a better deal. To top it all off, my Subaru came with an automatic 30 day warranty. Steve even accepted my trade in vehicle and gave me great value for it. I'm just the only one of few and you'll see more reviews about it, this place sells LEMON cars. i bought a volkswagen from here and after the 30 day warranty I had my first check engine light and after another few months I had to pay $1,200 in faulty parts and after another few months I have a car that no longer runs and in need of a whole new engine. Am in the market for an older used Subaru, again, and came across these reviews. Bought my daughter a 2004 Subaru two years ago from Windham and couldn't be happier with it still. We got a very reasonable price and a month guarantee to pass a safety inspection at our mechanic or Windham would fix anything that came up on that inspection. My mechanic had some relatively minor items which Windham fixed free of charge. It has since passed another state inspection. Steve could not have been nicer and more helpful. Went there with my boyfriend to look at a truck and test drive it. When we came back to discuss the truck and make a deal the salesman was painting parking spot lines and didn't even look up to speak with us. Even when talking to him about pricing and logistics he didn't even have the courtesy to stop what he was doing and ask how we liked it, etc.. Not that i want a dealer to haggle me but i certainly want a dealer who cares and is willing to answer questions. I don't give one star reviews often but this really rubbed me the wrong way. Purchased a Jeep in October 2018 as a winter car and put less than 2700 miles on it. Went to my mechanic today for inspection and it failed. It needed ball joints and they had to cut off lug nuts to remove wheels,so I am having them due rear wheels too. So if you purchase a car from them,bring it to your mechanic first. They just put inspection stickers on without checking car. My mechanic said the ball joints were bad for sometime and wouldn't wear out in 2700 miles. It is costing me $950. to repair. This dealership has a great selection of nice cars. I stopped by and a salesman, Steve, was very friendly, helpful and not pushy at all. It was comfortable agreeing on a price, and he got me financed very quickly. I work all over MA and NH so I often end up going to get oil changes wherever is closest and multiple garages have commented how clean the car I bought from Windham Auto Sales is. I have put 100,000 worry free miles on my car and it's still going strong. Worst experience ever! I bought a used car with the warrantee. After only two months the car needed rear shocks, rear brakes and drums and now will not start and has to be towed again!! I understand it was a used car, but they should have the cars they sell in running order before they leave with a customer! When I call to get service they are rude and condescending! They accepted my trade-in for hundreds more than anyone that should have been the first warning sign. Yes they got me financed even though my credit is less than stella that was the plus and the Salesman Jimmy was a nice guy. However they charged me $1000 more than sticker saying it was because they put new headlights on, hmmm and one is not that great. Brought it back supposedly they adjusted it but its still the same. And their mechanic left his tool inside my engine. Disgrace! I have had a leak since a week after I purchased it the mechanic fixed up ahhh NOT, they had a vw specialist fix it, after the second time bringing it to him on the third time they replaced the sunroof that kept opening on its own, the specialist said it was the mechanism and that would be charged, instead he disconnected it. And yes you guessed it my car is still leaking. It is only 4 months I have had it. A month and 1/2 ago the catalytic covered went $450 I was disgusted so the owner had it done and actually stepped up and paid 1/2, but seriously I had not owned it but a few months. When I saw him on a personal level I said ya its still leaking the owner Mike said and I quote "well it is a used car". The salesman I worked with, Jim Tokanel, is honest, professional and a pleasure to do business with. I ended up purchasing a 2nd vehicle from them as well. A 2006 Jeep Liberty. To give you an idea of what a first class operation Windham Auto Sales is......when test driving the Jeep Liberty, I noticed the power mirrors were not working. I brought this up to Jim and he noticed that problem too. He ordered the replacement part which came in the day of my test drive, installed it and everything works perfectly. They run a tight ship at this dealership. The technicians were professional and friendly as well. I highly recommend buying a used car from this company. You won't be disappointed. This place is the worst place to buy a vehicle I bought a 2004 Dodge Durango from them and the vehicle is in sad shape I called the other day to talk to the owner and he never called me back. I have recently taken the vehicle to a service place and there was sludge in the valves,2 rocker arms were off the push rods,the engine has been changed,all on the left side of the engine swapped out injectors and did a check on all other external things found nothing wrong with that also found that the coil that was put on the vehicle was put on the wrong cylinder. lied about an injector that they claimed they replaced and there was no injector replaced,called the so called warranty place and they refused to cover anything. I will never buy another vehicle from this company nor will I send any one to buy a vehicle from them they should be shut down it is going to cost in excess of 4000.00 to fix all the wrongs with this vehicle and the awful ratings they have it is terrible course they always deny they didn't know about things wrong they should be called a junk dealership. I went to a place in Epping like this and they sold me a junk car also I explained this to the salesman that I bought the vehicle from Jim Tokenel and he assured me that I would get a decent vehicle well guess what I got a piece of junk.I will be seeking legal advice cause I am sick of getting junk cars!!!!!!!!!! read more

DO NOT BUY YOUR CARS HERE!! Seriously, I wish I had seen the reviews before buying my car here.. My fiancé and I went to this dealership for a car we were interested in and thought we found an even better one. When we checked out the car with Justin the "manager", right off the bat we knew he wasn't the brains of the operation by he seemed nice enough, he met us in the middle and agreed to replace a timing belt and pump (we did not have to pay for this). After we picked up the car from being repaired, the engine light when on. Not even a mile from the dealership.. We called Justin who insinuated we may have cause this issue... Like what, we give you our car and twenty grand of business and you don't even have the decency to be respectful? It was eight at night, we asked if he'd give us a loaner, considering we both work full time jobs, he said "we don't do that...". So not only have they taken our money on a junk car, but they also have absolutely zero business ethics. Cherry on top of this shit storm; we get to the dealership to talk to Justin, or anyone really who could tell us what happened to our car, and they left it, keys in the door meanwhile were scratching our heads wondering who does this??? I'm five months pregnant Justin, should I drive my now literally smoking hot car to and from work? Worst car experience. Bought my son a car in September, he got his license in October so light driving first month. Few days out of 30 day warranty, and maybe 200 miles on car since we got it had serious problems. I called they wanted me to have it towed and have them work on it and "maybe can get cheaper "...no thanks! Brought to another mechanic, $2600 later we had car back on road. Less than 2 months later started having other issues, besides some minor things it needed a new transmission!!!! I did not move forward with the work and just couldn't wait to have this car out of my hands. So almost $10k in and had to just walk away. I get buying a used car is a bit of a gamble but pretty ridiculous in the first handful of months of ownership. OH and was told per CarFax when I went to unload it there were 4 accident reported yet what the dealer had only showed 1?!?!? Again worst experience ever! read more

Bought a 2002 Prius. Two days after purchase the electric power-steering went out. Dealership replaced it free of charge and were very nice, eventually. (turns out to be because the car was under warranty) Now, two months later, the Hybrid warning light just came on. Hopefully they will be just as helpful and stand behind their sale as before. Follow up: scheduled replacement transaxle 7 days in advance. Was told it was a "1 day project". Dropped off by 3:30PM the day before. Called 4 times for an update, no call back until 5PM. Owner told me, at that point, that the car still hadn't even been started. I asked why I wasn't notified earlier since he knew I needed my car for work and he got very pissy when I asked to just come pick up my car, and hung up. I called back repeatedly, no answer. Called the police who told me to go there and meet them. I waited until the next morning and the owner finally told me that my car was at another service shop in Methuen MA. I told them to do nothing to it and I'll pick it up and bring it elsewhere. BEWARE, this place will make you out to be the bad guy. EVERY time I went in there they tried to tell me some BS before I caught them in their lies. Wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT. read more
