We had 4:30 pm reservations on Christmas Day. The dining room was jam packed with tables; most empty. Carry out was brisk with completed orders waiting for pick up. We were seated right away and our water glasses were filled. Carry out otders were steadily moving out if the kitchen. Eventually our waitess came fir our order. Servers circleled the dining room refilling water. Our egg rolls came out fast and were delicious. Water pitchers continued to circle. 30 minutes later our meals arrived. Again delicious. Overall Windchimes did a good job of making dining room guests comfortable while the kitchen balanced carry out and dining room. By the time our food arrived most of the tables were filled. When we left, the lobby was packed. We will return for another fantastic meal next Christmas. We appreciate that Windchimes is open on Christmas Day but recommend eating eatly and NOT arriving starving. read more

I grew up in Dublin and remember getting carry out here as a kid and just moved back, right around the corner and I was excited it was still here! I ordered the house pad Thai and it was really good! My husband and I just got back from the place today, for our 11th wedding anniversary. We'd never been there before. The inside is very nice (decor, ambience, etc.). I ordered the war su gai, along with an egg roll and hot-n-sour soup, and he ordered the sesame beef, along with the same soup. The war su gai was good. Only thing I wish came with it were crushed peanuts. I am used to having that on top, but didn't bother to suggest some. Just ate it as is. The soup was decent, although not spicy at all. Very sweet. The egg roll tasted old and under a heat lamp for quite a while. It also came with a cream cheese wonton, but that, too, was barely warm, and tasted chewy. My husband's sesame beef was good; he had me try a bite. The fried rice he ordered didn't look "right," though. All in all, wasn't too bad. If you want good Chinese food, try Windchimes, but don't count on good service! The dining room was nearly empty with only about three other tables occupied. Despite this, the waitress argued with us when we asked to be seated at a table for six, even though there were only four of us. No one was there, so it made no sense! She was also rude when I asked about decaf coffee and was extremely confused about handling the checks, and messed up the to-go order. Throughout the meal, she ignored us multiple times, and our food took forever to arrive. While the food was delicious, she forgot to serve peanuts with the WarSuGai and was huffy when we asked for them. She was sliding dishes and pitching items across the table. We left a 10% tip due to her rude behavior. To our surprise, she brought the bill back to the table, questioning why we only left 10% and shaking her finger, insisting that she brought my husband two beers. This place has been touted as "the best in Columbus." You're entitled to your opinion, but I can only imagine it's because you don't drive beyond it. I've eaten here, ordered take out, had delivery, and it's consistently mediocre. Most recently, bland pad thai and burnt pot stickers. There's *fried* potstickers, and there is "I forgot these were frying" potstickers. These were definitely the latter. It's one thing to crank out fast chinese food, it's another to have terrible quality. More often than not, it feels under seasoned and/or bland (and this was pre-covid, as well). People of Dublin, you need to try other Chinese restaurants - Hunan Lion has consistently killed it for me, but I haven't been doing pick-up. read more

This place was having free delivery on post mates so we decided to check it out. Ordered our food and it quickly arrived. However, I was not impressed by the food. Ordered the calamari appetizer and it was very chewy (do not recommend). Did enjoy their hot & sour soup. The general tso's chicken had good flavor too, but some pieces were too over cooked! This was a Door Dash order. I've eaten at Windchimes many times, always incredible. This time I ordered pad Thai which was excellent. Also potstickers. Looove potstickers. However. We consistently order takeout and have always been happy. We went into the restaurant about two weeks ago to eat there. The service was awful, food was okay and we felt like we were being rushed through dinner. We got takeout tonight....i got the Mongolian beef. I only had about 12 bites of meat and the rest were onions. It wasn't worth the money and I hate that they filled the dish with onions versus a good ratio of meat and onions. I tried Windchimes for the first time today. Had pineapple chicken and unfortunately the chicken was so hard and overcooked I couldn't even eat it. I could be wrong but don't believe it was cooked fresh. The sauce was delicious but the meat was not edible. The crab wraps were also overcooked - some were even burnt. My husband had Happy Family and liked it. The sweet cheese wraps I had for dessert were also very good. I'll give the restaurant another try but will order something different. I've been here many times over the years, for lunch, dinner, and carryout. I've never had a bad meal or service. Every entree is fantastic. A few weeks ago I was in the vicinity and ordered a lunch portion of Honey Glazed Cashew Shrimp to take home. Amazing. This is a solid choice for Asian food in the Dublin area, with a lovely bar and dining room. Years ago I worked down the road, so my coworkers were frequent visitors for lunch. Had lunch with some friends today. The waitress was horrible, got mad when we requested another drink and never delivered a drink. The food was so so. It appeared the waitress didn't want to do her job and then got mad when it was required of her. We asked for containers to go and she through them on the table. The service was so bad I didn't leave a tip, which I have never done before. The waitress started screaming at me because a tip was not left. I will never return to this restaurant after the treatment received by her. She definItely put the establishment in a bad light and if its ok for the wait staff to yell at customers its not a place I want to give my money to. read more

This is one of those places I went to long before Yelp, but since I moved to the other side of town I had almost forgotten about it. Passed it last week and made a u-turn, literally and in terms of lunch plans. They are still here, and still making great food. It is tucked in the corner of a strip mall, but when you get inside it is pretty fancy. It was a little busy mid-afternoon, and I bet it gets packed during the rush. I had the lunch Mongolian trio special, which was very, very good. Subtly flavored, but still full of flavor, if that makes sense. A few rice noodles, fresh green onions and lots of white onions, very tender meats. Fried rice on the side, nothing spectacular but a nice complement to the meats and sauce. The crab Rangoon I had beforehand were good, but not as good as the Lucky Bamboo ones I had the day before. The egg drop soup was good, but not a standout. There is a lot on the menu I would like to go back and try. Prices and service were good. This would be a nice place for a lunch or dinner date, and is a real gem in an otherwise uninspiring strip mall. read more

I find there to be a lack of above average to excellent Chinese in Columbus. Windchimes is one of the nicer places inside. It's located close to Dublin so that's no surprise. It has a pretty standard Chinese menu that's kind of disappointing to me. The food is not the best there is, but is still somewhere I could make my way back. It has all the typical stuff at a Chinese restaurant. It has several tofu items, which is to be expected of any Chinese restaurant of course. The family style bean curd and the peppercorn fried bean curd are about $7 for the lunch. It's too common at Chinese restaurants to get the family style bean curd. The one here isn't that good. It could use some more spice. The better option is the peppercorn fried bean curd. It's really crispy and it's a very different texture from many other tofu items. This is cooked with a good amount of spice and it was a very good portion size. Its price was not the best deal around but it's still okay. The service is pretty fast and polite. I had my meal in several minutes. They are pretty clean in there, and it's a Chinese restaurant that you actually want to eat inside of. I will come back here at some time in the future. It's a pretty okay price for the amount. There is better Chinese but this will satisfy a craving. read more

But the lo mein is made with run of the mill spaghetti noodles, rather than lo mein egg noodles. Had I known that, I would never had ordered them. The pasta flavor overruns the whole dish. read more

My husband and I had differing opinions about this restaurant. The restaurant itself is lovely, clean with polite and friendly staff. The ambiance is very relaxing overall. The menu is rather large and organized by meal type, by ingredients, or by sauce/technique. Needless to say there is some overlap but overall it is easier to order from than some places where you are left guessing what exactly is in each dish. That being said, the food is good- just slightly bland. The wonton soup was lovely, delicately flavored... just lacking salt. Same with the hot and sour. My husband ordered a Windchimes style stirfry- it was very sweet and again, lacked salt. I ordered a spicy chicken and green bean stir fry- again, bland (and there was ZERO chicken in it) I ended up putting even more chile oil on it and salting it myself. Will I go back? Probably.
