Staff there is inviting, love the ambiance of the place, but no jukebox, you're stuck listening to whatever they decide. Food is great but lost a star no jukebox.

I have heard many things about Windber Hotel and finally had a chance to visit. One thing that I found out is that this is not the place that has the world's largest ouija board, that is elsewhere in Windber. The bar area is huge. There are multiple places to go within that can make or break your night here. You have the bar which is long. Stretches from the front of the building to the side entrance. Tons of seating around it and allows for a different perspective dependent on where you sit. Off the bar is a large seating area, good for dining and has a space for a stage for live bands to play. The night I was here one such was, which can make for a hard time to have a conversation, but a good time to get out there and dance to the tunes. Off the bar area is a small room with arcade games, dartboard, and a piano that now is an aquarium. Spent a good bit of time in here. Off of this room you have the patio, which, given the weather, can be packed. Smoking is allowed on the patio. There is a small porch area out front with some high top tables and smoking is also allowed in that area. Beers available here doesn't cover everything you would find in other bars, but they do have some pretty good things in their selections. Makes for a great night out to sample something different. The staff are upbeat and pleasant to deal with.

    The bar.

Great service, great beer, good food. It's a fun place to meet friends and knock back a few or bring the kids for a pizza. Love this place.

Really cool bar. They are always changing their tap beers which allows you to try something different any time you're there.

We came in to get drinks to go with our food (we got food from the food truck outside "Firebox"). The food from Firebox was good and it was a generous portion for the price. The drink options that were not beer were limited, and half of those options on the menu weren't available. My partner got the berry chocolate stout and said it was "pretty good". We hoped to sit outside, but the only available table had broken glass all over it from a busted door. It does have convenient parking and I liked the industrial decor. The service was good and the lady was very nice. One thing I will point out is that one of our glasses had pink lipstick on it from a previous customer. But if you only want beer and a place to chill - it might be just right for you.

I also appreciate the ample outdoor seating available. Always a big plus for me, even if the outdoor area is really just tables set up on the sidewalk overlooking the parking lot - as it is in this case. The service was fine. It wasn't crazy busy there but the bartender had a little edge to her like we were more on an annoyance than a patron. They have a refill club where you can buy a mug and get your name printed on it with discounted refills. Again I appreciate that kind of thing, but the bartender seemed way more interested in some of the regulars than us. Just the vibe she gave off that night I guess. And lastly the beer...it's solid. Not great, but solid. Lots of darker beers which is fine for me personally, but the darks outnumbered the IPAs, pilsners, etc the night we were there. I'd expect a little more variety. Still, it's good enough that I'd go back next time I'm in Cumberland, but not so good that I'd make a special trip out of my way. My scale: 1 - Just don't 2 - You'll survive, but there are better choices close by 3 - Good choice if you're in the area 4 - I'd drive up to 30 minutes just to come here 5 - I'd try to convince my wife to drive an hour just to come here

The drive is beautiful, especially on a sunny day in the fall. The leaves are incredible. As you're driving winding roads along Wills Creek, Hillbilly Haven pops out of nowhere. You'll see plenty of pick-up trucks, four-wheelers and side-by-sides. What you get: is an absolutely quintessential dark, country, dive bar. Beloved by locals, they have pool tables, a small live music and dance area inside and a really nice outside area in the back. You'll meet some of the nicest people. Just remember-it is a local country bar and when in Rome... Here's the big draw-oh my goodness, the food! People come from miles away to get take-out. The wings are perfectly seasoned no matter the sauce/rub, juicy but crisp. The Hillbilly Deluxe burger puts a Big Mac to shame. The smoked meats are done on site by people who really know what they're doing. If you're looking for a Saturday or Sunday road trip on a pretty day and some terrific food, find Hillbilly Haven. Grab a beer and enjoy the country. ATV recommended but not required. This update from my friend April- "

My partner was in the restroom so went after us to get his drink, he ordered, she asked for his id, just like everyone else. He then gave it to her and she took it then proceeded to take it into the back, COMPLETELY bent it in half and CREASE it. He didn't say anything he doesn't care to argue about it. But I do:)) So I went and asked if she bent it she lied and told me no, to which I corrected her and told her we know she did (his id is brand new and it says it on there). Her reason is "PA IDs don't bend" I said i understand but this isn't a Pa id and informed her of the 3 main ways to know it is real also told her to make a google search. She refused to check it again and said she didn't need to serve him. (Which I know is true) At the end of the day you do not do this to someone's GOVERNMENT documents‍ mind u the owner was right there the whole time and both of them tried to tell me no one bent it and grab it out of my hands I was showing them. I also did crease my friends PA ID‍

We opted for a table inside, and there was plenty of space. They don't generally have food beyond a few snacks, but it seems like they try to have a food truck around during busy times. In terms of the beer, I really appreciated the wide selection. This wasn't the type of place that serves 10 different IPAs with everything else being an afterthought. They had a dunkel, an American wheat, a festbier, an American style oktoberfest (seasonally), plus many others. The beer was generally good, but not always exceptional. I'm also very opinionated around beer, so take that with a grain of salt. Overall, this was a nice find. It made for a fun afternoon while I was in the area.
