I am still seeing him as of now. I have seen him for three times at the flushing office. Receptionists always speak with bad attitude. Medical assistants are actually ok. A few things I don't appreciate: 1) first visit, i went to see him due to a long-lasting redness and inflammation issue in my eye ball and eyelid. During the check-up, dr. ko picked up some eyelashes from inside my eyelid and later on they billed to my insurance. I called my insurance company and talked to the biller of wilson ko's office and had them waive off the charge for that. But it seems that they might have done this scams very often. 2) before i went to the follow-up appointment and after i finished the eye drop prescribed, I called them to see if i should get a refill and one of the staff on the phone told me to stop using the eye drop after she checked with one of their eye doctors (not wilson ko) . However, when i went to the follow-up, dr. ko asked me why i stopped using the eyedrop he prescribed. I was like wtf......Dr. Ko asked me to continue to use the medicine and eyedrop and see him back in 3 months later. Also, the follow-up check up was taking like 5 min to see doctor and 2 hours wait. 3) So far, I still didn't see my eye condition improving. at this point, i really don't have much hope dr. ko can get me better. Maybe he is a good eye doctor and has skills, but it didn't work out for me. read more

Is he REALLY a doctor?! simply, more a DOUCHE!! I took my Dad in for a follow up - mind you, this is my first time going into this office and meeting said DOUCHE - merely asking questions, where as a patient's Daughter I think - I KNOW, II AM ENTITLED to knowing - but the said DOUCHE is too explosive it's a miracle it's operating . . ONLY recommend for it to go out of business read more

My appointment was confirmed in advance at 128 Mott Street Chinatown office. I arrived early, checked in, and notified the front desk. Multiple patients who arrived after me were taken in first. After asking the front desk receptionist several times and receiving no clear explanation, I canceled my appointment and left. Unprofessional and discourteous service. read more

The doctor has good references, but the surgery didn't work for me. I paid to see better, and now I have a lot of vision problems. I have to wear very thick sunglasses to go outside, and I can't tolerate light or sun; I can't open my eyes properly. I'm in a lot of pain and discomfort. He only prescribed eye drops, and since there's nothing else that can be done, why did he agree to operate if he knew it wouldn't work? According to the doctor, everything was fine, that I would recover, but my vision has gotten much worse. And the front desk this people is very rude with patients. read more

maybe the doctors are good but the staffs are a piece of shit. they packed the office like a sardibne can (patients)

The young people at reception desk think they are better than the patients they service. They have no respect for elderly patients. Called my house to reschedule appointment and my mother said can I get your number and address because I'm old and can't hear too well plus my daughter handles my appointments. Person just told her I'm going to cancel appointment. People that work in customer care need to respect and have patience with the elderly. If any of them have grandparents or great grandparents, they need to ask them or care for them for a bit to realize that older people's thought processes are a little slower than people in their 20's read more

I used to go to the 128 Mott Street Chinatown office. They are the worst, very unprofessional. Go some where else.

This is absolutely the worst place ever. Please do not come here for a visit. AVOID IT AT ALL COST. They overbook their appointments because they want to get all the money. I waited 2 hours and I still couldn't see Doctor Ko.They hire random unprofessional people who take your eye pressure and eye picture and they also don't do it right. Please DO NOT COME here otherwise you will spend a whole day here even they give you an appointment slot. Don't trust them read more

That's a nightmare place. Don't go there! My eyelid was damaged by Alice Hong! I had a stye on my eyelid. Docter Hong did 2 surgeries and 3 injections, I kept going back to her for months, the stye never go away. And she damaged my eyelid, and I had to do a reconstruction surgery to repair. My eyelid was damaged and stye is there!!!!! Wasted me months to visit and wait in their office and finally damaged my eyelid!! read more

Wilson Ko, MD - Ophthalmologists Near Me - Flushing, New York

Horrible office. The staffs is unfriendly . They don't care for their patients . I have a cyst oN my eye which is annoYing and need immediately help, they spend all the time and told me to go home wait 2 weeks until my insurance approve the payment . I never heard of a doctor send patient home until insurance approval while my insurance plan has no problem even for out of network doctor. I offered to pay first etc but just complicated and they don't have time for you. I went to another doctor today and got it remove in 5 mins. This Dr Wilson Ko just want to drag on the case so they can collect more insurance money read more

Dr. Alice Wong I highly recommend. Excellent eye exam. Friendly and helpful staff.

The wait time to see the doctor can be 1 to 2 hours. The office is poorly managed and they overbook appointments like crazy. Their patients are mainly senior citizens. The front desk staff is rude and they sit there badmouthing the patients to each other. All they want you to do is to sign in and make your co-pay. If you ask anything else, they will snap at you or tell you to ask later when they are less busy. Their billing is sketchy so check your insurance statements. read more

Con: The doctor Wilson Ko did the Lasik Eye surgery too rough. After the surgery, both of white parts of the eyes are damaged and needed two weeks to recover. Pro: The visions are corrected. read more

I came in for the yearly check up and the secretaries were nice enough to let me get my checkup first before I got the referral letter to them. Let's talk about the office and building, on the outside it looks like any other apartment building. The office is located on the second floor of the building (it only has two floors, I'm assuming the building next to it is an actual apartment.) The waiting area has about 15 plush chairs and pretty spacious in my opinion. But once they call your name and you walk down the hallways, it was much bigger than I expected! The assistants even had their own little area which I thought was cute and pretty awesome. Now onto the doctor, I honestly have no idea what her name was (my fault for not asking) but she didn't really seem knowledgable. My optometrist suspected I had glaucoma because one optic nerve was bigger than the other. The Opthalmologist explained to me that I would have to go through the same test 3 times in order for them to determine it's glaucoma. Okay... But you didn't give me the glaucoma test. Not only did she not give me the test, she said I can be born like this with uneven optic nerves. Okay... But please elaborate what this condition is called. By the end of the checkup, she just told me to come back in 6 months. Okay so you can get money from my insurance right? I ended up walking away not know whether or not I have glaucoma. First and last time here! I found myself a better ophthalmologist! read more

Wilson Ko, MD - Ophthalmologists Near Me - Flushing, New York

Careless and reckless. I was stupid enough to allow Dr. Ko to perform cataract surgery on my left eye, now half the vision is gone in that eye. Ignored complaints after surgery and proceeded on right eye. Lucked out that they didn't mess that up. Try to dissuade me from going somewhere else for help. Completely unethical. More concerned about his lousy reputation than your eye sight. I would have him kicked out of the medical profession if at all possible. Stay away if at all possible. Get a prescription from them, nothing else. They are more interested in money then good outcomes for their patients, just look at how many people they try to shove through their office in a day. read more

I had an urgent situation so I randomly picked them up from somewhere. This Wilson Ko was never there but a young lady who looks extremely young treated me, gave me ointment but it quickly came back. I wouldn't recommend any of them. Receptionists all just chit chatting and don't give a crap on long you are waiting for your turn to arrive. read more

Long long long wait. If you have time all day to wait for one appointment. They overbook and the MDs are not constantly seeing patients. I never see the doctors going back and forth to rooms with patients waiting. You could be in for an early morning appointment and you still have to wait. Late afternoon appointments, you have to wait like two hours before being seen. Medical assistants have high turnover rates , it's always someone new that do the office tests. My one star for the whole review is for the retinal specialist. If he is separated from the group, I would give him and his staff five stars. The only person good is Dr David Poon who is the specialist for retina. He's very patient and explains everything well and very polite and personable. AND he is ON TIME with his appointments. Dr Wilson Ko on the other hand has no patience whatsoever for any questions you have. He's quite arrogant of his skills and does not have the time to explain anything to you. Dr. Hong is a bit better in explaining what she has to do, more patients but still the same style of practice. Their style of doing things is they would spend more time and see the patients first who need cataract surgeries before the rest of the patients. Even if your appt is before theirs, they would somehow see them and get them consulted before other issues patients. It's basically cash profits from laser part of cataract surgeries that they want patients for, not from regular insurance. Find yourself a different regular ophthalmologist practice who has time and efficiency than this group. read more

I'm One of his patients for the past 5 years and Can't complain about my Doctor. The reason I took off one star is because We have to wait long to see him, since he's specialize in lasik, and Cataract surgery. I will just recommend to see their parthers instead of Dr. Ko. Just a check up. Not a surgery. read more

I was referred to dr. ko by my regular ophthalmologist . Upon entering and signing in I said hello to the 4 ladies behind the front desk. They all looked at me like I had 2 heads. IDK, perhaps it was because it was lunch time. Anyway, after waiting 45 minutes pass my appt time, i got to see Dr. Ko. He is well worth the wait. He took care of my stubborn stye ( huge bump) with a sure handed cortisone injection on my lid. Went to 2 previous ophthalmologist and they could not help. I was very scared but he put my mind at ease. I can see why not every dr. handles this problem. you really need to be skilled for this procedure. read more

Listen...if I can give them a negative star..I would. The doctors are okay. They only work at this location once or twice a week. They OVER BOOK like mad. Are you looking for a two hour wait from your appointed time? This is the place for you. If you really want to see this doctor, get the earliest appointment possible. Also, if you have oxygen, bring it cuz the air in the office is nasty. That's because they cram to many people in there and they eat cuz they can't get out to eat lunch or else they lose their place in line. Don't come here unless you personally know a doctor and can cut everyone. read more

I truly wish I had read these reviews before I came here. I was a new patient, had to wait half an hour to be seen by medical assistant, another twenty-thirty minutes for the doctor , then another fifteen to twenty minutes for the dilating eye drops to set in. Then had to sit in the chair another ten-fifteen minutes to he checked. That is over TWO hours for an eye exam and eyeglasses prescriptions. The office assistants were not polite although Dr Airiani was professional and experienced. read more

Here I am in the doctors office. Right now a 90 minute late and they say they do not have enough rooms. Who manages this place. Poor scheduling. Dr Hong is good but not for an endless wait read more

Wait time in this office is minimum 2 hrs for the regular doctor and up 4 hrs to see dr. Wilson Ko. Front desk are rude, cold and have very bad English. They will tell you in your face that other patients have more serious problems than you; so they have priority. In other words if your case is not that serious then they put you at the bottom of the list. Unless you push for your case they let you wait endlessly. Literally feels like they call everyone else in except for you. They overbook like crazy, but have no plan on how to handle the situation. This is a patient factory. It seems they target retired senior people that have the luxury to wait long hours. Younger people with jobs and kids at home please avoid this place. Your entire day will be gone just so you see an eye doctor. Ridiculous! They don't care about appointments at all. They even tell you go for a walk and come back later even though you made an appointment. If you want to waste long hours to be seen for 10 min this is the place to go. Doctors are ok, but seriously not worth the wait. Extremely poorly managed. Better options out there. read more

My mom came here because of Dr Ko's good reputation but when I came in with my mom for her exams I find the assistance to be rude. My mom is a senior citizen and they don't have any patience for the elderly. That's a damn shame because it should not be like this. Never got to see Dr Ko but only one of his many minions. Poorly staffs and poor services . read more

Pretty satisfied. Just do not like when I see Dr.Ko and have a recall that he will try to pass me off to another Dr. If I want another Dr. I will decide that. read more

My father had cataract surgery done by Dr. Ko. I accompanied him to his post op visit the next day. We weren't given a specific appointment, but told to come between 10 to 11. We waited over 2 hours and he wasn't even seen by Dr. Ko . The 2 hour wait I found out was standard operation by all the patients waiitng. In the few years my father has been to this office he only met Dr. KO once before operation and for the operation. If I have an appointment for a specific doctor that is who I would like to see. Dr ko is not even in the office on the days of my father's appointments. This is quite unprofessional. My father will be needing cataract surgery on his other I and I will definitely not let him have it with Dr ko. There are other doctors who are just as qualified who will give you their attention and see to their patients personally . The office is poorly managed. My father was also asked for $150 cash uo front at the mackool eye institute. He has no copay for his insurance. When I inquired at the office they had no idea what the fee was for. read more

This is for his Chinatown manhattan practice. Stay away from him! I had surgery scheduled and was told I had to pay 2000 upfront. they then canceled my surgery and kept giving me the runaround when I asked for my money back. It's been three months and the front desk women in his Chinatown practice are absolutely horrendous! Absolutely unprofessional loud mouthed women that yell at seniors. Terrifying!! So wilson, here's some advice, get rid of your staff or train them properly and run a freaking business instead of preying on old people for money. read more

I'm standing in the corridor outside Dr. Ko 's office to see one of the doctor's and there are at least a total of 25 people waiting. I had one of the first appointments to see my doctor - but, apparently so did everyone else. There are elderly people here and not enough seats and the wait is LONG. I repeatedly asked the person at the reception how much longer to see the doctor and she had no response. Although Dr. Ko and hisassociates have received good reviews as doctors, they should be trained in how to respect their patients as people - not as a number in their profits. Each time I have an appointment here, it's the same story. read more

This man Dr. Ko is an arrogant person, miserable and disrespectful . Maybe in the third world country he comes from he gets away with the way he treats his patients. My mom had one eye done by him supposedly, and i say that because she never got to meet him before or after the surgery, she was told he did the procedure by him and before she got the other eye done all she asked was to meet him for a few minutes to give her piece of mind. so his affiliate dr. set her up an appointment to meet him in his flushing office at 9 am, which i took her too. she notified them that this was not a regular doctors visit and that she just wanted to meet him for 5 minutes . i waited for her outside for over two hours, she called me to tell me she was told to sit down and wait but the office was small and very hot and after an hour or so she was getting dizzy and pleaded with his staff to just get a minute or two with him. finally after 2 hours of torture she gets taken in and dr. ko starts an exam, she stops him and says, i told your secretary im not here for an exam , just to finally meet you before i have my second surgery to set my mind at ease, since she never saw him before or after the first surgery. this miserable bastard goes into an angry rage and started yelling at her, tell her she need to go elsewhere that he didnt want her business any more. my mom is 80 yrs old and a very respectful person and she tried to calmly discuss the matter but he was so mad she was just there to talk that he told her to get the hell out and find a new doctor. when she exited the building i was waiting outside and i could see she was visibly shaken up. i asked her what happened and i got so upset i had to be restrained by her to not go up to his office and drag him out by his neck. i just could not believe how a professional dr. could treat a patient like this, especially an elderly woman. My mom went back to his other office a few days later to discuss this incident with dr. Ko`s affiliate and he told my mom he heard all about it already. So now my mom is Just a Problem to them and has to find a new doctor to finish the other eye. Oh and btw before the first surgery they put some drops in the wrong eye and she had problems with that eye for a few weeks. and since this incident she has found out that others have had problems with this dr. Ko. including one woman who said he operated on the wrong eye. My advice to you Dr. Ko is stop giving a F--K about money so much and start caring about your patients more, this is not Communist Korea asshole. read more
