I often forget that Willy-Yums is nearby. I left Manatee Memorial hospital after visiting a friend and decided to stop by. The people there are always friendly and helpful. I got a Chili cheese dog, a kraut dog with extra mustard and an order of fries plus a drink. All of that for only $10. Great place, great value. My only two minor critiques is that the hot dogs are on the thin side but very flavorful and the fries should be a little bit crispier. Other than that, I love this place. read more

This is the coolest little hot dog place I've been to in Central Florida. The menu is basic, but the food is pretty great, considering it's operated by a single person. She takes the order at the outside window, makes the dogs and fries, poors the beverage, and delivers it all to your picnic table. The food itself is kinda average, but the atmosphere is kind of cool, and I'd come back just to enjoy the character of the place. We really enjoyed it! read more

Tried Willy's a couple times. The dogs don't seem to be anything special. Probably just a supermarket brand. The chili is very boring, mostly bland with no real chili flavor and no heat at all. However the hotdogs tend to be salty. They appear to be using very little seasoning to keep costs down and it shows. Definitely do not recommend. I live in the neighborhood so I visit this place often. The food is always excellent. The staff is so friendly and the atmosphere is fun and cheerful with picture outdoor umbrella tables and lots of fun decor. They have a reputation for keeping a very clean kitchen and I believe it! I love the no meat hotdogs they taste fabulous. Hard to I would say the New York dog might be my favorite but mac & cheese or chili dogs are out of this world. Tried it for the heck of it. Service was great. Kim is awesome and a Michigander. The hot dogs were meh. Had a Chicago dog and a Detroit coney combo with lays classic chips and a Sunkist orange. Onions make a dog and these onions were sitting in water too long and if you know anything about onions this changes the flavor and texture. That's why only three stars! Onions really need to be freshly chopped and stored properly. Originally from Detroit I've eaten my share of coney dogs and Chicago dogs. Give 'em a try though if you're thinking about it but you may want to hold the onions. read more

We strolled in for national HotDog day and we're pleasantly surprised. I had a Chicago dog and frito pie dog. The Frito pie dog was great! 8/10. The Chicago dog was good, the bun was perfect the dog was great, I personally wasn't a huge fan of their type of relish. 7/10. My girlfriend had a slaw dog and loved it! They also had a $1 special for the Holiday. The $1 rivaled their gourmet one if you got it fully loaded. Service was good and we were treated very well. Service is great but the food was disappointing. I ordered a snap dog with chili and cheese. The bun was a cold bakery bun which would have been better if grilled, the snap dog was deep fried. If you want to loose me and a lot of patrons deep fry hot dogs and breakfast sausage. I also ordered a cheeseburger, again a cold bakery bun and a previously frozen burger with no searing or flattop marking. The chili was lukewarm on the colder side and hardly any cheese on both. Unbelievable. They come to a big RV resort and don't bring enough food to serve for half the time they are scheduled for. How do you run out of hotdogs? What is strange is they have a big sign that says "Sold Out". Is this planned? Do they only stock enough food to make the profit they want so they can go home early? Very disappointing. read more

I came upon this place on google at 1 am on a friday night and the hours show up open till 2 am. Called just to see if they were still open and the guy on the phone told me no we close at 9.... then moments later I get MULTIPLE phone calls from this guy who works there. I feel super harassed and I even had to have my boyfriend speak on my behalf to not call back and he called back again... I felt very harassed and bombarded over the fact that I just called to see if they were open. He proceeded to say how I called asking about "hours" which I did not. This cute little shop has all the quick bites you'll need. The employees are nice and quick to get your food out. My favorite is the beef dogs with chips and and soda. Really enjoying the Chicago dogs here. Very yummy. They often have a great special on their basic dog with mork. 2 for $3. Service is at a walk up window. Friendly! They have tater tots but be sure to ask if the fryer is up to temp. As I was there early on time and the tots were not as crisp but the second time they were great. Look at the board for specials. Easier to park across 41 and walk over as very limited parking and tricky to get back on 41. read more

My brother and sister in law took me here. We're all from MI so we know how hard it is to find a decent dog down here in FL or anywhere in the south for that matter. The dogs were a fine substitute for MI chili-dogs. I would highly recommend the Detroit coney and the frito dog. read more
