On Saturday November 1st, I went into the "Willowbrook shoe repair" looking for a belt for my son's birthday. I met a oriental woman, (we had a little hard time understanding each other as she had a strong accent.) running the shop that day and began to look for the right belt. She continuous went into the back of the shop and began yelling in another language. I asked her if they had a return policy because I was unsure of the fit. She informed me there was no refunds. Then she went into the back and continued the yelling. I began to try on the belt to see if it was the right fit as there is no refunds. She then came out from the back and abruptly took the belt and told me "We don't have your size." I have not seen so much disrespect from a shop as I did that day. It was disgusting. read more

I brought my favorite, old boots into this shop to have the soles either repaired or re-placed. I particularly liked these boots as they had quite a bit of tread on them originally and just a small hell. He said he would replace them and showed me the material he would be using. When I picked them up, they looked just like new, he had also glued down a nick I had on the boot and they were polished. I will definitely return to this shop if/when I need my footware reparied. There were also some great looking leather belts displayed there for only $10. I may return to grab a couple of those for Christmas gifts next year. I highly recommend this service. read more

I took several pairs of shoes/sandals to be repaired totaling almost 80 dollars..I had to take a pair of sandals back because he did repair it properly..he did not charge again for it but a few months later the heel of one pair came off. I took it back to him a few weeks later since I was out of the country and he lied and said he does not use that type of heel in shoes. I tried to explain that he was the only shoe pair I have used in Canada and he walked of...ignoring me...I have patronized his business for almost 12 years and now I will go somewhere else. I brought my boots in to the Willowbrook Shoe Repair shop at Willowbrook Mall because the seam on one of my boot had fallen apart. I kindly communicated to the lady what I was looking for, which was for her stitch work to resemble the original vertical stitch pattern as shown on the other boot. I thought it was normal of me to describe what I was looking for, but she reacted with agitated dismissal, raising her voice at me and telling me she would fix it, but didn't provide a clear answer on what she could do--more just told me to stop talking. I let it go, telling myself that she is the professional after all--it's a simple, straight forward stitch pattern on the healthy boot I showed her--maybe she thought I was saying the obvious. However, after picking up my boot when the service was complete, I saw that she had driven with yellow material, an obnoxious, horozontal, zig-zag-type pattern into the boot to reconnect the seam--entirely opposite of what I had asked. It looked nothing like the work on my other boot. When I tried to communicate this to her and show her the seam on my other boot again, she stooped to the same reactive aggression she had thrown at me the first time I came to the shop, and yelled at me. How embarrassing and disrespectful. She then told me I would have to pay more if I wanted her to correct it and have the seam be like the other boot. I wasn't thrilled--especially since I had communicated what I was looking for when I first inquired to do business with them. After I left, I received a phone call on my cell from the shop. I answered it, and my ear was met with the inaudible shouting of an angry man, who if I could hear properly through the static rage, was shouting that apparently I got exactly what I asked for. He was not in a frame of mind to have a productive exchange, and I cancelled the call. A waste of $17.00. And my favourite boot is ruined. read more

One caveat: The owners are not big on customer service. But I kind of like that. I think that customers are way too coddled these days. Some of the reviewers are obviously victims of their own poor choices (not to mention racial prejudice), and if you can't accept paying ten to twenty bucks to fix your shoe without getting a firm estimate beforehand, then buy a tube of Barge and fix it yourself. I took a pair of Fluevog ankle boots in for Topy soles. The owner looked them over disapprovingly at first, but then grunted "Not crap." That's as close to a compliment as you'll get here. The Topy soles (the second set I've had done here) were applied and trimmed perfectly. I have worn the grip off them in places and there is no hint of them letting go. read more

Went in to ask how much to glue down the front of my sole and the lady would not say how much, only after I leave them to be fixed. I tried to get a basic quote a few times and she kept evading my questions, finally saying "could be 6 or 10 dolla, but not know". I was immediately turned off with her horrendous lack of English, not to mention the whiff of dishonesty I suspected. How does the biggest mall in Langley have a shoe repair shop where the owners can't even communicate with prospective customers? I'd expect this experience in Richmond or Chinatown (hint hint), but not in the Fraser Valley area. Take your business elsewhere and don't reward those who could care less about learning even the basics of our language. read more

I can't really rate this place but I did not choose it because of the reviews!! Instead I chose Langley Shoe renew on 56th and 201. They were very polite and said my boots would be ready the next day. read more

I was surprised to see so many poor ratings as I have taken several pairs of shoes to get resolved at this location and have had beautiful work performed- not cheap but on high end shoes it was worth it. Yes English is definitely a second language but the gentleman I have delt with has been fine to interact with. I will continue to bring all my shoe repairs to them read more

So I bring a great shoe I have to the repair place to get the sole glued back in a few spots where it was coming unglued. I show the lady she says ok it's $15. So a week later I pick up the said shoe and bring it home. I check it out and notice they only glued the sole back in one small spot at the front. The side and the back hasn't been fixed at all. WTF? So I go back and show her how they missed a few spots. She says very rudely "NO!".!!! I explain how I had asked for the sole to be reglued and not for "part" of the sole to be reglued. She claims I only asked for the one spot fixed! I mean who would get only a small piece of the sole reglued and not the whole thing??? Seriously! Just for reference this lady can barely understand and speak english which is probably part of the issue. How she owns a business I don't know. Her exact quote "you want fix you pay more money to me!". Anyways so I ask her point blank if she's calling me a liar. She says yes!!!! LOL OMG I looked at her and I said to her I'm no liar but you are a crook! I mean don't get me wrong I love to support the small local guy but do not try to screw over your customers and nickle and dime them to make more money! I already paid for the WHOLE sole to be fixed not a part of it! I just said thank you I will never come back here again and will tell everyone about my experience here. I really don't think she understood anything I said. If I could put 0 stars I would!!! STAY AWAY they will scam you into paying more money. read more

If I could put zero stars I would. This is based off customer service as I didn't even get as far as seeing what their work is like. The lady barely spoke English so she couldn't understand the first few times I said I'd like my boots polished. Then she said I don't know if we can do it because they were a whiskey tan color boot. A guy comes to the line behind me as I'm pulling my other pair of brown boots out of the bag to get polished and to see if I can get the heel done as well when she stops paying attn. to me and seems occupied with trying to help the guy behind me. Then looks back at me points at my boot and says "we can't do that" while trying to shuffle me aside so she can help the dude behind me. I hadn't even got my third pair of boots to be polished out of the bag to show her yet. She clearly could care less if ahe had the business or not and obviously just did not want to be bothered with doing the boots. I was speechless and just shook my head picked up my 2 pairs of boots put them back in the bag and walked out. It was the most ridiculous customer service experience I've ever had. read more

I do not have a recent report to give but I have tried to get shoes repaired here before and they have said they cannot do it. I am talking about just ordinary repairs. One time when I was in a gentleman came in and needed an emergency repair for his shoe as he had an important meeting to go to. The lady said no and again it was what I would call a regular repair. Poor language skills may be a factor but I also think that the gentleman doing the repairs is quite elderly and probably cannot manage much these days. Anyway bottom line is it is a waste of time going there. read more

$75 buck per shoe for a new sole? Me thinks not. I told him I could buy a new pair for $150, and he said prices had gone up. I politely declined. This same guy charged me $50 2 years ago for both shoes...same pair by the way..I guess I looked richer this time around.
