I have feet problems from polio since before the vax resulting in 2 different size feet and a leg 1.5" shorter then the other. Foot wear is an issue for me. I have seldom had a pair of shoes etc that would fit or could be altered for the leg lengths; so, when I find a pair that does fit I nurse them along for literally decades. To that end I have searched constantly for a good cobbler and found one here. I NOW have a pair of slippers (first time ever!) custom made sandals repaired after not being able to wear for 15 years, and an old pair of sneakers with a replaced heel. 3 visits, 3 perfect outcomes. I dropped off a pair of work boots to be re-soled. They are heavily used and abused during the course of my work. They spend a lot of their life on asphalt, concreted, and a steel freight deck. I use them year round in the heat, rain, ice, mud, and snow. I have had the soles come off due to the heat and Gorilla glued them back together on several occasions; however, this time it was not to be. I either had to buy new ones and break them in or find somebody to repair them. Luckily, I remembered that there is a shoe repair shop in the Bellis Fair Mall. I stopped by last Monday and picked them up this Monday (1 week). They not only have new soles, but they look almost new. The price was very reasonable - $70 including tax instead of around $200 for a new pair that would hurt my feet for two weeks while I broke them in properly. After reading a review here about Birkenstock repair, I took mine in. He re-corked and re-soled them. The charge was $50 and upon return, I am sure that I will wear them for several more years! They look like new, except for the footbed which has my footprint on it. New without any break in! He also restitched a much loved designer handbag. The stitching is not at all visible when carrying the bag and is now safe to use again. I recommend! read more

So I wasn't here to fix shoes as I don't plan to bring old shoes to the states for work trips lol, but he has a nice marketing stand with all the different types of insoles. So these high-end ones from $35 and up will fit your niche, high arch, low arch, etc. He recommended not buying them, best to bring in the skates, and test the different ones...how honest is that?! I went here because my husband has tried other places and says this one has the best turn around time, he was right! On Monday I asked to have my boots back by the end of the week and I got a call on Thursday. They replaced the zippers and cleaned them up and they looked like new. I went to this location based on reviews, fairly new to Bellingham left pair Uggs below knee leather boots & Vince Camuto heels. Unfortunately I have concerns with my high heel repair:/ which only needed a tiny Breast heel repair done. They did warn me that they couldn't do much but glue it. I completely understood. Went to pick them up, my boots could not be found. (My thoughts omg where are they? they have shoes everywhere, I assume people take their shoes for repair because of price they paid to own them and expect shoes are given tlc) finally they handed them to me with boot shaft folded . FYI Some people like myself have their boots stuffed w tissue to prevent that. My Heels appeared little effort put in, various oil stains & didn't bother to match color of heel once glue was applied& dried. Last night I went to try them on have a huge gap between my heel/counter of heel & width of shoes stretched. Not happy read more

Brought my shoes in here to get them shined, dark auburn shoes with tan laces, they did a horrible job, quick but horrible. Basically nothing wrong with the shine but they didn't take the laces out so the laces are stained brown. Not many options for shoeshines and I am not sure what to do. read more

I took my boots to be cleaned and polished, the guy asked me when I needed them by and I said by the end of the day. I came back four hours later and he hadn't started then yet and said that I told him tomorrow. He said to come back in 40 minutes and then sat down to his lunch in the back. Went in here to have a purse repaired. Owner took my purse and said to check back on a few weeks. When I came back, owner said he didn't order the right color of leather and gave me back my bag. I was very surprised he didn't offer to order another piece in the correct color. Went to the Shoe Stop today with an old pair of cowboy boots I've had for years to reduce the size of the heels. Just as I suggested could they be done by tomorrow, I think it was the owner Sergey said " you go get coffee and come back in 20 minutes all will be done ". Oh I said ok. Well, back in twenty not only were the heels perfectly repaired the boots were rebuffed and looked like new. I paid him more than what he charged me for his excellent workmanship. After receiving horrible service from another business in town I found out that the Shoe Stop also repairs motorcycle pants. I took 3 pairs into them for various repairs as well as a pair of Georgia work boots. They had everything done in less than a week and it was very reasonably priced. The best part is the boots turned out good as new and they used the same high quality sole as the original, and all of the pants were repaired better than I could have asked for. RAVE: I called the SHOE STOP, shoe repair shop, in Bellingham after reading their great Yelp reviews and told the man that answered I was on the islands, but I had a pair of boots that needed to be resoled and heeled, (I;m an archaeologist, they are my digging in the dirt boots, wear all the time boots, snake protection in the jungle boots) and he said no appt necessary just come in, we will do them while you are in town. Sure enough I take the ferry at 1105 get in to town and to his shop which is in the Bellis Fair Mall next to JCPenny, and i unzipped them from my feet and handed them over. He said one day to fix. And i said but I am on the island. And he said ok, give me til 5pm (that was 3 hours) and Sure enough 515 I arrived and the boots were resoled with brilliant knobby italian rubber, they took the crapy heels off completely and put a new pair on, and buffed out the boots. My Steve Madden Archaeology boots are kick butt! So very happy with these craftsman, their honorable business. Went in to have soles and heels replaced on a pair of men's leather dress shoes. Picked shoes up 3 days later and they looked amazing. Not only did the soles and heels match perfectly, but Sergey even buffed and polished my shoes (even got rid of the scuff I had on the back heel). In short, my shoes look brand new again. Brought in a pair of old, inexpensive boots that have been worn hard for years and had holes in the soles. Picked them up yesterday and they look like a brand new, expensive pair of boots with incredibly solid soles on them. I am thrilled! The quality of the work is better than these were new. I have never had to write a bad review but I feel compelled to this time. Beware, do not buy shoes from this vendor. If you discover the shoes don't fit they will not exchange for a different size. The shoes were so loose that they injured my foot. Businesses can write this off, this doesn't hurt them. This vendor is not a shoe salesman and didn't really help me with the fit. The only thing left for me to do was leave the shoes with him and not get my $98 back or a different size or toss in the garbage. Next time I will drive the 100 miles to Seattle and go to Sole Perfection where at least they help with the fit. I will never go to this store for anything!!! No wonder retail stores are failing, I will buying my shoes at a store that honors my business. read more
