I love these old bars, especially in an old house. This place is awesome., it's been open for 30 years. I grew up in Petaluma, but I never really hung out at this particular bar until up to five years- six years ago. It's a as my dad who introduced me, and so glad he did. So this was the perfect location to celebrate my boyfriend's 50th birthday party with his friends and family. The food is really good here, fun karaoke on Saturday nights, free pool at seven. There's tons of space and outdoor area. The only complaint was my mom who was very particular, said she couldn't hardly taste the vodka in her drink (Tito's) that is the only complaint, the prices are great for what you get. Very nice cook. Took our orders quickly. They do not have half the things that's on the menu. However, the burger was cooked as order and was served with a generous supply of crinkle cut fries cooked perfectly as well. Food was good and quick. Our bartender was kind too. We were in Santa Rosa visiting family and picked this place on a whim. Uber driver told us we chose correctly! Great little bluegrass band playing. Cold beer & full shots. The patio was terrific, especially with the bar cat wandering around. Never saw an abalone shell in my life, but they use them as ashtrays. My boyfriend schooled me on what they are lol. John, the bartender, was the absolute best and kept us laughing all night. He even waited outside with us after closing up till our Uber arrived. Truly a class act guy, and his tea shots were killer. This bar is so fun in kareoke Fri and Saturday, lots of new 30 something's are coming in with new songs. Kat the kareoke lady is Badass. Kirt and Marvin are badass bartenders. Has the bar flies from neighborhood are always respectful full. Foods good not bomb ass but good. Sunday days are fun too. I highly recommend this bar for fun. Here it is now 2/4/2022 and Willowbrook Ale House is still fun. Karaoke with Kat is the best fun. Great food and drinks and the best karaoke in town. She lets you bring in discs for songs you want to sing. That is awesome !!!!! Just hand Kat the disc and let her know the number of your song and boom you are good to go. Singing is a great exercise especially when you dance a bit when singing. The whole bar is very supportive of ALL singers, so come on by and give it a try. This place is great, if you're looking for a comfortable, welcoming place, off the beaten path, with live music! Live music seems to be Thursday evenings only, now. Karaoke w/ really talented people, Fridays and Saturdays, 8-1. The night I went, meeting up w/ friends. We just loved the live music! Bluegrass, folk, R&B, blues - all worked well with a crowd heavily composed of Baby Boomers (in our mid-60's and early to mid-70's). The musicians were great! This place is fabulous. My British husband described our night at the Willowbrook perfectly: "that is the most stereotypical American bar I've ever been in." Yep. Totally. A bit of a dive, but clearly with a heart, a group of us headed to the Willowbrook on a Friday night after my brother's wedding rehearsal dinner. The location was chosen for it having karaoke, and the karaoke didn't disappoint! There was a group of a karaoke regulars who took multiple turns at the mic and who kept us all entertained. Those of us who wanted a chance all got one, and even though the place was quite clearly filled with a regular crowd, we were made to feel welcome. On the other side of the place there was pool happening. And at the bar, it was one of the bartenders' birthday and a regular customer had brought her in a cake. I love that. Such a well-loved place, clearly. A bit rough around the edges and could use a good scrub down, but I'd totally return to the Willowbrook if I was in Petaluma again! read more

When you hear that a bar is a Karaoke Dive Bar, this place is exactly what you expect! It's comfortable like a warm hug! It's a great place that seems to have a lot of locals that know each other and enjoy karaoke. We were there for my friend's birthday weekend kickoff and were not disappointed. They have the classic karaoke song choices and some really good dive bar food. We had a yummy bacon quesadilla, fries, and onion rings. My favorite was the onion rings! Went to the Willowbrook this weekend and had so much fun! Great drinks and Karaoke with Kat was a blast. Everyone was friendly and pool is free on Saturday nights (bonus!) You can bring your drink outside in there beer garden and sit around a fire on there back deck. I had one of there burgers and it was mouth watering. I can't believe I've lived in Petaluma literally three minutes from Willowbrook for a couple months now, and only just went there last night. Just the kind of place we had been searching for. Good reasonably priced beer on tap (a couple Lagunitas selections, etc), Giants game on the tv, cozy back patio with a firepit (albeit with cars whizzing by), very sweet bartender (Terri?) and random smattering of locals ready to chat it up at the bar. BEST part was the live Bluegrass, which is every Thursday and apparently attracted a significantly older crowd (my gf pondered if the casino bus had made a stop), including a table of bedazzled-sweater wearing white haired ladies sharing a tower of homemade cupcakes. A few young people there too but seems the place has not been tainted by douchy hipsters. Didn't order any food, looked like pretty basic pub selections, will try something next time. read more

I've been here a few times and it's pretty fun. The burgers are good and tons of beers on tap. I'd probably come here a lot more often if it were closer to downtown. Popped in for a burger after reading the banner outside that asks "when is the last time you had a really good burger? " Have driven by a thousand times. The burger was pretty good for how basic it was. Bartender friendly. Got the impression that the locals hanging out there spend a lot of their awake time in this bar. Which is exactly how a dive bar should be. Don't want to see it in daylight... the glass door to the cooler behind the bar was so dirty.. a little Windex goes a long way fellas. 3 stars considering the filth factor. read more

I was on a big motorcycle run and my friends and I wanted to veer off the beaten path. I came in here and was already diggin it because it is a quiet dive..Or maybe it wad just mid-day on a Sunday! Ha. Cheap beer on draft, good selection of beer in bottles, and four pool tables that are only 75 cents a game. It's an added bonus that this place has food, and I saw a bunch of posters up for karaoke nights (booyah!). Also, they served us up some sausage scramble n biscuits..awesome biscuits.. free of charge and apparently they do a different brunch every Sunday.. Sounds like a good gig to me whether it's free or not. Also, the bartender was super nice. Definitly cater to an older crowd but there's nothin wrong with that. My parents used to talk about how they went to this place and liked it and now I have (and liked it!) too. read more

I was visiting my son in Petaluma last month when we stopped by the Willowbrook for a beer on a Thursday night. It turns out Thursday is Bluegrass night, and I've been a fan of the genre for years (even played a little when I was young). The house band (Blue and Lonesome) knocked my socks off. These guys are the real deal. Traditional hard core Bluegrass with plenty of drive. The old guy fronting the band plays mandolin like Bill Monroe and their vocals are top notch. We had a great time and I'll be back for sure on my next trip to CA. read more

Been here many times. A place with a deep historic root in Petaluma. The bluegrass on Thursday night is fantastic, Ed Neff is a world renown bluegrass mover and shaker. The food looks basic, but you'll be hard pressed to find a better burger in town.I have come in when I didn't know a soul there and have felt welcome immediately. I haven't tried the karaoke ... but I doubt anyone wants to listen to me! read more
