Hey y'all! Cool vintage vibes, including a revamped building with natural gardens outside! Enjoyed a Hawaiian Margarita to wet my whistle. Dined in on a Friday afternoon around 2 PM and the place was occupied, but not super busy. Ordered the grilled catfish, with a baked sweet potato, and seafood gumbo (and served with the best I've ever had hush-puppies) for sides. Lovely environment with good service and food. My husband and I live about an hour away and we try to visit at least twice a month. Not your high class restaurant (not my style) but excellent food and service. Owner and staff are very friendly. Love the Heavenly baked potato and my husband usually gets the fried fish dinner. As I said, the food is great but it's also nice to be greeted by the owner. Had lunch here today and was very happy with our experience. Hamburger was cooked perfectly as was the hamburger steak. My wife's ham sandwich was piled high with ham and served on 2 pieces of nice cut sour dough bread. Cold beer with our meals and a nice piece of warm pecan pie completed our meal. Was passing through town on our way to Cloudland when we saw this really cool building and it was lunch time. Sooooo glad we stopped. My mom and husband had burgers. They were hand made and cooked just the way they wanted and came to the table piping hot. I had the fried chicken finger sandwich on sour dough - it was great. The fries and onion rings were cooked so perfectly, they were addicting. The place was clean, our waitress was wonderful, and the prices are very reasonable. The building is an old building and was actually an old general store back in the early 1900s. As we were leaving, the Cook came out and spoke with me and asked how we liked our lunch. Im from Atlanta, and, you would think that good southern restaurants would be a dime a dozen here. NOT TRUE. Most places serve frozen garbage and catering quality food, at best. To get something memorable, you've got to venture outside of town. This place was great... Took my son there for lunch this afternoon while we were in Summerville. My only regret is that I missed dinner the previous evening, as Country Fried Steak was the special. There is no sign for this place. Look for all of the locals coming and going... That was the only way we found it. All of the staff was super friendly. The fried dill pickles were hand breaded and absolutely incredible. The onion petals were equally fantastic. Same story with the homemade cole slaw. We both had hamburgers, and they were good, but not outstanding. I would have liked to see more dinner style entrees on the menu for lunch, but its cool. Ill just plan my trip around dinner next time. Maybe ill luck out and get that Country Fried Steak after all! read more

EMERGENCY FOOD REVIEW: I recently ate at the Willow Tree Grill....This was my first time eating at this establishment....It is located in Summerville, Ga and has been operating for about 3-4 years....had a party of two, food sharing was at a premium. Willow Tree Grill is in a quaint old building, kinda small....it was a general store long ago, were talking during the 1920's.....after that it became a fish tank store called Finland's.......there are a few tables, booths, and even a bar area to choose from........on my visit they played modern day country music...gross...we all know that country music produced after 1999 doesn't matter and is void...........bathroom was a sufficient 1-header. FRIED MUSHROOMS: Fair FRIED PICKLES: Fair ONION RINGS: Fair JALAPENO CHEESE CURDS: Good...do these. FRIES: Medicore, crinkle cut RIBEYE STEAK: Decent...but not mind blowing. PHILLY CHEESE STEAK: Decent...but not mind blowing. CONCLUSION: If you live in Summerville than I'd say that this place is repeatable....but if you do not live in Summerville than it's only a place I could recommend eating at once............for me if I'm going to dine in Summerville I'd be choosing pizza at the Crushed Tomato, as the Crushed Tomato is highly repeatable. read more

We stopped in for lunch one day. It was pretty busy, I think a lot of them were locals. We both ordered the special of the day which was country fried steak , mashed potatoes and fried okra. Wow!! Not only was the food fresh and fabulous but the staff was the absolute sweetest. My husband and I came in for a hot meal, as we have been camping in the park. It's been a stressful few days having to evacuate our home due to Hurricane Irma but the staff here made us feel like old friends and the girls decided to pick up our check. I'm in tears as I write this and continue to count our blessings! We can't thank you enough for your hospitality. We tried this restaurant because of the stellar reviews but were disappointed. Prices were very reasonable but the food was meh and almost all the sides were starches. I expected slaw, field peas, green beans, okra, maybe Brunswick stew, etc. I love good meat and three places and they are getting hard to find these days, but I can't rate this place highly. I was a little surprised by the secret sauce on my stuffed potato which was full of mayonnaise, and the potato itself was really a whole baked potato with a bit of chicken and bacon on top, rather than a stuffed potato. Who outside of Belgium puts mayonnaise on a baked potato? But I should have read the menu more closely, so my bad. read more

Love this place and make the drive there as often as I can. Kandy and the staff love the people the come in, whether they know you or not. Typica southern restaurant. The food is good - nothing spectacular. We waited a ridiculous amount of time on our food and then when a plate had to be remade they said 5-10 minutes and it was more like 20. By the time the food finally arrived, everyone else was completely done with their meal and the check was paid. We had to get it to go. Very frustrating. read more

The food here is amazing. Sometimes the wait for a table is a little long, but so worth it! The owners come out and check on the guests and make you feel right at home. I've never had poor service or a bad meal at Willow Tree. My favorites are the bacon cheese fries, ribeye (marinated of course) and their special Caribbean Mango Vinaigrette salad dressing. If you eat all that and still have room try their homemade desserts! Hannah, Meg & Tori are fantastic waitresses and their bar tending skills are awesome too! This is the cutest place tucked away in Summerville. I was driving through for work and stumbled upon it. Delicious southern staples, phenomenal service, very clean and homemade. Previously I would have rated it 4 or 5 stars. After last week, not so much. To be fair, it was a Tuesday evening and they were busy. Our waitress was young and clearly inexperienced. The food was good, as it has been on our previous 5 or so visits. (Though I don't feel that for a fancier dinner restaurant they have a lot of choices.) The real problem is that our party of five, after receiving our food, NEVER got checked on. No refills. No second margarita or beer. Kids slurping empty cups. Nothing. Owner was preoccupied visiting with another table and looking at her cell phone. Even if the waitress was overwhelmed, the owner certainly wasn't busy. We were surprised, as we have not received such a lack of service here in the past. Maybe it was just an off night. However, upon checkout I spoke to the owner about our lack of service. She apologized, yet didn't see fit to take a little off the $87!!! bill!! I work in food service, and in my humble opinion, it would have simply shown a little concern to take, maybe, an appetizer off the bill as a peace offering. Oh well. We might be back eventually, but it will be a while... This particular experience only warrants 2 stars, I've given 3 to reflect previous experience. read more

Okay this is a nice place to eat. The old building looks nice on the inside and the seating is comfortable. Alcohol is served there and to me that is a plus. Not a big drinker myself but it shows that the ownership is taking on the responsibility of trying to please their clientele. Since this is first time visit I tried something that wouldn't be considered a specialty and that everyone could relate too. I had the chicken salad sandwich 7.99 on sour dough with fries. The sourdough was a plus. Thick and Toasted perfectly. The fries were hot and fried right. That brings me to the chicken salad. The taste was fine but had all charm of Mrs. Kinsers. To me chicken salad should have some crunch. This had none and the amount on the sandwich might have been a tad thin , especially for 7.99. The chicken salad croissant at Richards in Ringgold is far superior with crunch provided by grapes and pecans for a couple dollars less. My wife had the grilled chicken sandwich and said it was good. I'll try this place again but it won't be a destination trip. read more
