Dr. French referred me to a dentist who specializes in treating malpractice patients, and that dentist's treatment solved the recurring problems. Bad: - poor diagnosis of dental operations. - "Drill 1st, ask questions later" attitude Good: High-tech diagnostic equipment Nice furnished waiting room It's unfortunate that WillowTree doesn't do its core function well- which is good dental care. The practice is relatively one of the newer practices and the staff appear to not be as experienced. The cleaning was thorough but my gums really hurt during the cleaning. The diagnosis was that I had 6 cavities which surprised me as I have not had any cavities in my life until this point. The possible explanantion provided to me was that Boise water did not have fluoride so there was less protection for my teeth. When I asked about the possibility of getting a 2nd opinion or waiting a few months to confirm the results I felt that I was being pressured into doing the fillings right away. There was an implication that I was a naive client that dared to question their opinions. Ignoring their advice, I went for a 2nd opinion elsewhere anyways and was told there weren't any issues and as a safety precaution I could come back in a few months to confirm the results. I passed on getting the fillings and returned to Willowtree in 6 months for my cleaning. I ask about the 6 cavities and am told that they "disappeared" and are not an issue. I am writing this review a full year after my 2nd checkup at Willowtree. I had moved to San Jose for the year. In my subsequent checkups in San Jose, there have been no cavities and a clean bill of health. Now that I'm back in Boise, I will avoid this dental practice even for cleaning as I feel their practice is more about "drilling first" than asking questions. Such cowboy antics wouldn't be acceptable for your car let alone your teeth. Sadly I am not the only one as I've talked to co-workers who have been to WillowTree since returning to Boise and they have confirmed similar stories of an initially excessive diagnosis consisting of extraenous operations If anyone has a good recommendation for a dentist in the Boise area, do tell! read more

Unethical business practices. Went for my normal check up after switching insurance providers and finding this location very convenient. Not a great vibe at the front desk customer service or the quality of facilities, but this wasn't the issue. Check up was mediocre, get to the end of the visit and the nurse asks when I want to schedule my next visits for. I asked visit(S), plural? She said yeah, we usually don't like to fill more than 3-4 cavities in one visit because it can get uncomfortable for the patient. I asked, So how many cavities do I have? She said 13! I am less than 30 years old and have had 2 cavities in my life, now all of a sudden in less than a year and no major life changes I have 13. This blew me away. I kept calm and scheduled the 4 next visits and left. Then a week later I called and cancelled all my scheduled visits. The best part is, I went to two other doctors months later and both confirm I have zero cavities or anything to worry about. Willow Tree is very shady in their business practice and seem like billing insurance providers is more important than a patients well being or uneccessary drilling in their mouth. Please save yourself time, money and potential holes in your teeth and do not give them your business. TL;DR - Willow Tree tried to get me to agree to filling 13 cavities (to bill insurance fraudulently). Two other dentists have since confirmed I have no cavities. read more

Best and the most comfortable cleaning I have had in awhile. However, the dentist was barely there, unfriendly and didn't tell me why they wanted me to see a specialist. This was my worst experience ever with a dental office. After my painful cleaning and x-rays, I walked out with a quote for almost $5,000 for extensive work they wanted to do. I was leery about this assessment because at my last 6 month check up there were no issues. I had the x-rays faxed to a trusted dentist that I used to go to before I moved to Idaho and he said he saw no issues and to not continue with this treatment. Besides feeling like this dentist was only in it to make money and take advantage of his patients, the staff seemed to really dislike their jobs and the hygienist was very cold and did not care if I was comfortable or in pain throughout the cleaning. Oh, they also charged me $25 to send my x-rays electronically via e-mail. read more

I have to say, this has some of the most sweetest and caring dentists I have ever met. Me and my boyfriend had to come into their Meridian office to talk about what to do because his tooth had been knocked out when he was assaulted about half a year ago. And all they have been is understanding, caring, honest, supportive, cooperative, and extremely positive and I could go on for ever on how great they are. They have sat down and listened to what has happened and what's happening and what we think and they work with us. When no other office wanted to help up because he was assaulted and so victim impact had to be apart of it and help pay which no other dentist wanted to deal with. But the dentist and nurses here immediately wanted to help and did what every they could to make sure he wasn't in pain any more and could sleep. And they got us in for a new appointment by the next day so that why he wouldn't have to be in pain that long. And even when we where late to the appointment we called and asked if we should even come and they where so understanding and told us to still come and they where so sweet and took care of us. They really are the most caring people. read more

I have been going to Wilow Tree Detal in Boise for the past 12 years. They are great! I can't complain about any of the dentists I've seen there over the years. I have had no bad experiences (even had my bottom wisdom teeth removed). I especially love my hygienist, Amelia! She is the most gentle hygienist I have ever had. read more

We had a very horrible experience at Willow tree. Staff is so bad and doctor, what should i say..If you do not love your teeth then only go there...else please try some other clinic. In our case they did bad cleaning, only half filling and later on when we complained, they refused to treat further and billed the insurance a lot.
