Dr. Bluth decided I needed a root canal on tooth # 4 instead. $3,500+ later, the original tooth (tooth#2, the one that actually needed treatment), is causing massive issues. He did a root canal in the wrong, healthy tooth. This is backed by my referrals from my dentist. I'm in so much pain that I have almost gone to the ED on several occasions. (My dentist was kind enough to talk to me on his weekend and call in an antibiotic). Rocky Mountain isn't admitting fault (of course). The ladies running the show are extremely unprofessional and rude. Ella hung up on me. How's that for someone running your business? She said "I'm not welcome at any of their clinics". They cancelled an emergency appointment while I'm in so much pain. EDIT* the tooth that needed a root canal is now infected. I am on narcotics and an antibiotic. Steer clear and go ANYWHERE but here. I was referred to Dr. Carbonne by my regular dentist for a root canal. This procedure is very important because it effects the overall health of your tooth. Dr. Carbonne uses the most modern, high-tech equipment and his knowledge is extensive. He employees a microscope and takes x-rays as he works to ensure that the root canal is done properly. He is extremely meticulous and keeps his work area clean and sterile. His assistant was as good as they come. She was also very knowledgeable and efficient. Dr. Carbonne's chair-side manner is warm, cordial, and comforting. He does not talk down to you and is an excellent listener. A visit to his office is also educational as he shares the process as it relates to the desired result. My root canal was rather complex, but Dr. C. never rushed or cut corners. I felt relaxed knowing that my procedure would be completed at the highest professional level. He and his assistant would check with me often to make sure I was comfortable and in no pain. They even use a mouth brace so that you do not have to strain while trying to keep your mouth open through the procedure. After I arrived back home, I was astonished to find that I felt absolutely no pain....none. Amazing. The office even called me that evening to see how I was doing and wrote to me a month later to make sure I followed up with my regular dentist. They genuinely care. Sherrey, Eileen, and Dr. C.'s assistant, were absolutely professional and welcoming. When you come to Intermountain, you feel as though you are meeting friends for coffee. They are a fun and lighthearted group, which is so refreshing compared to some of the more "clinical," apathetic, and sterile doctor's office's I've visited. When I got there they did all the X-rays, poked the gum, and then the resulting dentist came in and looked at my mouth for less than 10 seconds. He declared that we should remove the tooth, and then declared I had 3 cavities as well. They did not tell me to do a salt wash and see if the gum irritation cleared up, nor did they say to take any medication. In my shock, I scheduled a follow up to remove the tooth and fill in my new cavities. Then I got home and did some research. I did a salt wash for two days and the swollen gum went down to normal. Then I booked a secondary opinion appt at another dentist. Once again did the whole X-ray and other checks. Not a single cavity, nor did they think the tooth should be removed. Horizon is unprofessional and took advantage of an urgent situation. I cancelled all appts and moved onto another dentist. I highly recommend you consider before moving forward on anything with them.
