I am so grateful to have been referred here for a root canal. Although my dentist can do root canals, they thought it best to refer my case out to Rocky Mountian Endodontics. I was in first thing this morning and was on my way an hour later. Getting in to this appointment was quick. I only had to wait one and a half days from the time my dentist called them for my appointment. Everything went smoothly from the pre-appointment confirmation call, the email forms to fill out online, to check in. They quoted my cost up front which I paid in office and they will bill my insurance for the rest. The procedure was done by Dr Burbank. Both him and Sierra were wonderful. Professional, clear, and focused on doing their jobs while keeping my comfort in mind. I went in with some anxiety which wasn't lessened after I heard about how difficult my particular root canal could be. Fortunately they were both able to make me extremely relaxed and completely fix my triple root infection while I lay there listening to my choice of music and it was completely pain free. Even the shots to numb me were not painful. They sent me home with written instructions and explained it as well as answered all my after care questions. I arrived at the scheduled time only to find out the woman I spoke with did not put me on their schedule. Was referred to Dr. Antoine Bluth in April 2025 for a specific tooth to be evaluated for a root canal (tooth #2). Couldn't be seen until October 2025. Dr. Bluth decided I needed a root canal on tooth # 4 instead. $3,500+ later, the original tooth (tooth#2, the one that actually needed treatment), is causing massive issues. He did a root canal in the wrong, healthy tooth. This is backed by my referrals from my dentist. I'm in so much pain that I have almost gone to the ED on several occasions. (My dentist was kind enough to talk to me on his weekend and call in an antibiotic). Rocky Mountain isn't admitting fault (of course). The ladies running the show are extremely unprofessional and rude. Ella hung up on me. How's that for someone running your business? She said "I'm not welcome at any of their clinics". They cancelled an emergency appointment while I'm in so much pain. EDIT* the tooth that needed a root canal is now infected. I am on narcotics and an antibiotic. Steer clear and go ANYWHERE but here. I will be reporting Dr.Bluth to the Dental Association, the Idaho State Dental Board, and the American Association of Endodontics. read more

Had a 5 minute consultation that I paid $200 for and my insurance paid them another $48, and they billed me afterward for the "remaining balance" that wasn't covered by my insurance of $56! Not trust worthy, and overpriced. Called to discuss it with them and they just said you'll get a letter from our collection agency. read more

My boys and I have all seen Dr. Olsen, and in my recent visits I've also now seen Dr Bluth and Dr. Burbank. They're all exceptional dental providers and the office staff is so kind and always accommodating for appointments. The Drs all provide quality, pain-free care in everything they do. They always express genuine concern and clearly love what they do. There's not many doctors out there like them. I highly recommend each one of them to anyone who needs a root canal and any other dental procedure that these doctors can do. I wouldn't trust anyone else for my family. read more

Do NOT go here! I was given a root canal in the wrong tooth. They were given the correct information by my dentist and even took their own X-rays but they still drilled into the wrong tooth and not even the assistant noticed. I did not know until I went back to my dentist for the crown. This place was super negligent. There are much better endodontists out there. Go someplace else, it's not worth the risk. read more

If I could rate it less than 1 would. I had a root canal on Thursday afternoon and that evening I started to have brown liquid coming out of my nose. i called the on call dr. and got no response until the morning as i had also left a message on the office phone to voice my concerns. They stated that the on call endodontist had a family emergency and had to fly out and they would prescribe me antibiotics. Today I went back as I'm still in pain and it was concluded that it was a high bite. The problem is that the endodontist had the X-rays as he stated on the wrong side! WTH!! I was highly disappointed with the experience at Rocky Mountain Endodontics: 1. I waited 2 weeks for a call after my dentist referred me to them. When I called, the staff member indicated that they never check their patient referral portal and they wished referring doctors did not say Rocky Mountain will be in contact with the patient. They are too busy to check the referral portal and it is up to the patient to call. 2. When I made the appointment, the staff member indicated I would be getting an email with initial paper work to be completed. I received the email and promptly the same day completed the paper. There after I received 21 texts and emails requesting that I complete the paperwork. 3. I received a confirming appointment text with a message to bring $200 and the referral plus x-rays to the appointment. There was not indication what the $200.00 was for. I called and I was told it was for a 3D scan of my teeth. 4. On the day prior to my appointment, I printed out the initial paper work; I prepared a copy of my medication and health history list, a copy of my insurance card, my identification, my referral slip and x-ray. On the day of my appointment I arrived promptly at my appointment. The front gal desk with no prepared and there was no warm greeting. She complained about computer issues. She pulled out a paper and requested I sign it acknowledging I owed $200 before even being seen. All the paperwork I prepared was thrown in the trash. 5. I was taken back for the 3D and asked to remove my earrings. This should have been advised prior to arrival; then I was put in an exam room and another x-ray was taken. The same one my dentist had forwarded. 6. Once the endodontist arrived in the office, a) he did not introduce himself (I still do not know who I saw); b) he said "why are you here today"; c) when I inquired about my dentist referral, he stated "I didn't read it and I want to know why you think you are here". The doctor just stared at me. I had to explain why I was there. At that point in time, I was ready to walk out. I did not feel welcome or comfortable. I paid $200 for a 3D scan and the outcome was being referred back to the originating dentist. I am completely unsatisfied with this interaction. read more

Dr. Bluthe is AMAZING, his ability to do 3D imaging and referral saved my tooth. I was misdiagnosed at another office with a tooth root fracture and I can't even begin to explain how grateful I was that he was able to see me so quickly and evaluate the tooth in question and refer me to someone who could and would help me. His office was also VERY understanding that I had to bring my son with me as our babysitter was unavailable. I would recommend this office to anyone. read more

Sometimes a dentist is great at their job, and sometimes they are kind. Dr. Robert Olson (Bob) is both! I came in to have an infected root canal re-done, and being 6 months pregnant I was a little nervous about laying on my back for 2 hours. Dr. Olson made sure I was comfortable, providing a rolled up blanket for my lower back and extra cushioning for my neck. It's the most comfortable I've ever been at a dentist's office. Dr. Olson kindly explained the x-rays, pointed out the infection, and let me know it would be a 2 part procedure to give the infected area time to heal. He was reassuring during the procedure, and his kind manner of speaking, even to his dental assistant, really stood out to me. Some dentists can be business only and come off unfriendly, but not here! I'll be back for the second half of the root canal to finish it a couple weeks, is it weird that I'm looking forward to it because of how nice everyone was?? read more

I had an abscess tooth that came roaring into existence. I became very sick, very quickly. Rocky Mountain Endodontics got me in as a new patient same day. I got a root canal and was immediately well again. I live 9 hours from this office, but would travel to see these guys if I (God forbid) have another issue that needs their special sort of attention. read more

I was referred to R.M.E. after I was diagnosed with an abscessed tooth from another Dr. Being that I was only visiting Boise to see my sister, this wasn't what I was expecting as my first stop in Idaho. Needless to say, the staff was incredible! They're very personable, knowledgeable, and honest people. That's hard to find...especially now-a-days. I appreciate that they gave me a completely truthful answer to me NOT having a root canal done ...going in, I thought that was my only option. I thank them from the bottom of my heart for not having me do a very expensive procedure when it wouldn't be in my best interest (that was their diagnosis). So I went back to the original Dr., and had the troubled tooth pulled instead. All-in-all, it turned out to be a better day than I first thought it to be...was sooooo glad I went to Rocky Mtn. Endodontics. Hopefully I won't have to see them again when I go back to ID, but if I have more dental problems, they would be my first stop. Again : ) read more

Now that I am fully recovered, I feel that I can leave a fair review. This was my very first root canal that I was terrified to get. I've always heard such horror stories of how painful root canals can be. Since I am pregnant and cannot take and pain meds (let alone ibuprofen) my nerves increased even more. When I arrived at Dr. Bluth's office, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. My appointment was on time and the rooms/equipment were very clean. Dr. Bluth examined my tooth and proceeded with the root canal. The procedure was PAINLESS! I was shocked! Even after the procedure was over, I was still numb enough to get me to sleep that night and my recovery was also pretty incredible. I did have to take some Tylenol extra strength the next day... but just once and I was fine. I'm not saying I'm looking forward to any future root canals.. what I will say though is that if that is in my future. I will absolutely be going to see Dr. Bluth. read more

No issue with Dr. Bluth or his assistant they were great! The office staff however is the problem. I received a call saying they had verified my coverage and I would owe $900. Just after my arrival in pain on a Friday afternoon they called Delta Dental and now my $1700 bill was not covered. Be aware: only Drs. Eaton and Larson are covered by Medicare Advantage. The office & Dr. Bluth were not aware, which is strange to me. The office staff blamed their new computers.Make sure you actually call Delta Dental yourself to avoid a big bill as they had no record of the staff actually checking my coverage until my arrival. read more

I was asked to go in for a second opinion, by my dentist, on a tooth that was still giving me pain after a root canal. The Dr. checked gums and tooth out and had no problem with what was done and showed me the X-rays to explain the problem; the cap over the tooth was irritating my gums, which could last up to a year. I was very happy with the honesty, not trying to get me to spend money on something that did not need to be redone. I am 6 months in and the pain is wearing off. Honesty is worth a lot!! read more

I was referred here by a friend and would never go anywhere else for a root canal! I was in so much pain and they were so nice and took the best care of me. When I went for my follow up, there was someone else there in the same pain I was previously in and they apologized for the delay but I knew they were taking the best care of that patient. My oral surgeon sent me to Rocky Mountain Endodontics after I had a wisdom tooth removed. Although I didn't need a root canal, I was very impressed with everyone I met on their team. Some people wonder whatever happened to customer service, but every so often you experience a business that really gets it. The key is having people who love people and sincerely want you to have the best possible experience. I hope I don't ever need a root canal, but I know where I'm going if I do. read more

Very efficient, caring, and professional. Anything teeth related makes me nervous, but they were great.

Charged for services they did not provide. Not only that they charged me and my insurance for services that did not provide they maxed out my insurance benefits and claims by other providers are being rejected and I have to pay out of pocket. This was done on 9/28/20 and as of today, still didn't receive all my money back. Insurance sent them a letter on 11/18/20 to pay back $1049 that they overcharged, and as of yesterday 12/22/20, they didn't send the money back and did not respond to the letter. It's the end of the year and because of them, I lost $1049. They are also deleting bad reviews. I would not recommend this place. read more

I was absolutely terrified to get a root canal, primarily because I had such a painful experience when I got my crown done at my dentist office. But Dr. Bluth was AMAZING, his office accommodated by demanding travel schedule and fit me in when I was home. He talked me through the procedure and my pain management options- which helped immensely with my anxiety!! The procedure was not painful at all, and they have an incredibly comfortable chair with a TV mounted (with Netflix) above and noise cancelling to help with your distraction. My procedure was over a year ago, and I haven't had an issue with that tooth since. I would absolutely recommend Rocky Mountain Endodontics to anyone! read more

We were referred to Rocky Mountain Endodontics (RME) by our dentist who is an in-network provider for our insurance. We confirmed RME was an in-network provider when we made the appointment for my wife. We also confirmed RME was an in-network when we filled out the paperwork at the office, Linda (the receptionist) made a copy of our insurance card. The dental technician took an Intraoral Periapical Film and than a Cone Beam CT. After Dr. Bluth examined my wife and reviewed the x-rays he determined her tooth needed a root canal. When the exam was completed Linda informed us the Cone Beam CT was not covered by our insurance and the $180.00 was due now. We were not informed of this beforehand, or even given the option to accept or reject, we were caught off guard, we paid the $180.00. At some point later we learned that RME was not an in-network provider. A month later Dr. Bluth agreed to give us back the $180.00 less $63.00 difference between his "billed amount" and the "allowed amount" our insurance paid him as an out-of-network provider. However, had RME been in-network as they originally informed us our insurance would have paid 100% of the "allowed amount" for the Oral Evaluation and Intraoral Periapical Film. We would have never made an appointment if RME had they not confirmed they were in-network agreeing to accept the insurance "Allowed Amount" as full payment. Not sure how you can believe them when the tell you they accept your insurance. UPDATE: Dr. Bluth called this morning stating he had found their website did state they were an in-network provider for my insurance and will refund the full $180. read more

I have high dental anxiety but Dr. Bluth has made root canals a pain free experience. I have been to Rocky Mountain Endodontics twice in the past year to correct old root canals performed by a different dentist. Both of the corrective procedures done by Dr. Bluth have relieved my pain and my teeth are back to normal. You also get to binge watch Netflix during dental procedures! Their prices for a finishing a root canal are astronomical. I work in the dental equipment business and I know the panoramic x-ray and the other gear they use intimately. I see it fixed all day. They cost me $1,000.00 cash because my other dentist couldn't get the work done properly and missed getting everything out during a routine root canal. I went to RME right before Christmas because I needed a root canal. I seem to need root canals on an annual basis for the past 5 years!!! I am new to the area and was nervous about seeing a new endodontist. Dr. Olson was wonderful. He explained what was going on...I had a lot of questions. He told me different avenues that I could take. I ended up having to have a Reroot canal which I hadn't ever heard of. It was a two visit process....I was just amazed at how gentle Dr. Olson was and very impressed with the use of a microscope etc. I highly recommend him if you ever need a root canal. With that said, Rocky Mountain Endodontics is hands down one of the best dental work providers I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Have you ever left any dental office thinking to yourself "I wish I could do more business with them"? I just did. Amazing! It's businesses and professionals like Dr. Olson and his staff that I'm happy to support with my hard earned dollars. Truly they provided exceptional service to the point that they have raised the bar. Dr. Olson is not only highly qualified by both his higher education and life experience but he is also extremely compassionate. You can feel it even when he's working on your tooth. I would have to say that having Dr. Olson do a root canal was more like watching an artist at work. It may seem over the top but truly Dr. Olson goes about it as if he were creating a masterpiece in your mouth. Of course, they provide everything you expect but it's the things they do, the way the treat you, their follow up, the fact that insurance and the paper work run smooth. All of those intangible aspects that seem to suck, time money and energy when you visit a doctor or dentist these guys have running smoothly. Mimi, Kris and Ashley were all terrific and are the type of people you can tell care deeply for the comfort of their customers. That's it!
