They told me on the phone that they would remove the tooth the same day. I came to them with a lot of pain and they took pictures and they said everything looked good. If I want they can fix it but it costs $2950 but to remove it costs $380 they gave me a 3 point calculation. 1 extraction, erupted tooth requiring removal of bone and/or sectioning of tooth, and including elevation of mucoperiosteal flap if indicated. = $380 2 bone replacement graft for ridge preservation - per site. $547 3. guided tissue regeneration, edentulous area - resorbable barrier, per site = $270. After that I was in a lot of pain for another week. And I chose only number 1 to remove it. meaning to pay only $380. I don't need the 2 points. Because it costs me a lot. I was in pain for another week, I called them to come and have it removed and they told me to go to another clinic, they didn't want to remove it. They said I had an infection, what they were doing was not right. They manipulate people's minds to get money out of people. But if the person has nowhere to pay and decides on the cheapest option, they don't do anything. read more

The team at Willow Tree Dental- Columbia Village was absolutely outstanding. Unfortunately because of my current insurance I cannot go back to see them, which is unfortunate for me. Let's start from the beginning. When I called I was connected with Fallon. Fallon was the epitome of a Customer Service Professional. She was able to get me an appointment muy Pronto and attention to details was without flaw. She set my appointment with Taylor. Now Taylor is the cream of the crop! She handled my appointment very professionally with NO PAIN to me what so ever. I needed to come back for a deep clean but timing was of the essence. Taylor and Fallon came up with a day that worked and Taylor even came in on her day off to take care of me. This is the kind of service all dental offices should strive to equal. I do need to give kudos to the doctor dentist and his assistant for the expedited tooth extraction on the initial visit day. Still very satisfied with Willow Tree Dental. Fortunately, due to regular maintenance I haven't had to worry with anything but cleaning. I am a regular customer with RDH, Tracie twice a year. She is thorough and gentle. She takes x-rays as necessary and points out where I need to improve. My visits also include a consultation from Dr Hess. She reviews with Tracie and confers with me. Pros: Honesty, heart, technical acumen and friendliness. Cons: None so far. Well, there was one dentist they had many years ago whom I thought ground off too much of a molar to solve a problem stemming from a filling he gave me. My dentist, Dr Hess is so kind and always takes the time to address any concerns I may have or questions. My hygienist, Sheri is the best I've ever had. I broke my two front teeth and needed a root canal and cap on one of them. Dr. Mortenson and all the staff at Willow Tree were amazing to work with. From the start the office staff was so helpful in doing the pre-auth form for my medical insurance to cover since it was accidental tooth damage. Terrible dentist. I had to use them because of my employer's insurance. I came to Boise with all my teeth including my wisdom teeth. I was 50 years old when I started going to Willowtree. 10 years later, I've lost 11 teeth. Found out they don't fix crack or aged fillings! They tried to have all of my wife's front teeth pull! Billing office/department/person was terrible. Our family went here for over four years and were happy with services until this happened. Got billed for a routine cleaning that should have been covered 100% when they added a new dentist. Had to spend hours trying to get a correction only to get a bill for the amount of discount that our insurance company gets!! Numerous more calls and time wasted and they would not remove the charge until I contacted my insurance administrator who then contacted them. Finally, the charge was removed the the credit I had before all this started was gone. Wasted enough time and energy on this. Our credit was gone and now so are we. read more

My wife and I have been going to Willow Tree Dental for almost 14 years. We are very pleased with the service and the doctors. Dr Hess has been our dentist for around 12 of those years and has helped me immensely. I needed a transplant, but before I was illegible to receive one, I needed to have some much needed dental work. Dr Hess was able to correct the issues and has continued to keep me keep my teeth in good health. If we were not able to continue to see Dr Hess I would be hesitant to see another doctor. read more

If I could give them .0000001 star I would. Willow Tree Dental is highly unprofessional, disrespectful, and completely ignorant when it comes to wasting your time. I called in on a Wednesday to see if they could get me in right away because I had an old filling come out. They got me in on a Friday, which a gladly took. I came to the appointment did all of my paperwork, sat down got x-rays. Then they were doing insurance searching while I was sitting in the chair, we have Tricare, paid premiums, my husband is Active Duty. They literally left me sitting in a chair for an hour, mind you, I took time off work 2 hours plus to go to this dentist appointment, they just left me there in the chair. Didn't get to see a dentist, no dental work got completed. So, went up front and Cassandra yammered on about billing. So I told her I needed to get this done so I could go back to work and responses were poor and unprofessional. Then after sitting in the chair for an hour, I was told I'd have to be rescheduled. Hard no. Not going back, their office is outdated and mildly dirty. The outdated portion would be overlooked by customer service but, that was piss poor. Willow Creek Dental is at best OK and only if you need routine dental care. The staff value their time off far more than their patients. They do not have any cushion built in for emergency care. When my husband was experiencing severe pain, they told him they could not see him because they were too busy and offered an appointment 3 weeks out. Needless to say, we sought and received immediate care from another dental practice. Neither of us would ever return to Willow Creek for anything ever. read more

My husband recently had procedures done at both the Cherry Lane clinic and the Wood Sage Clinic. He is a 100% service connected Vietnam veteran, He had been going to the Boise VA dental clinic for over a year to have an implant done on a front tooth due to an error the VA made during a root canal procedure. The appliance they gave him to wear kept breaking and causing additional problems with other teeth. He ended up with an infection twice and needed help right away. Every time we called the VA we were told they were not open, nor could they refer him to an outside dentist. We contacted Willow Tree and they got him in right away, prescribing antibiotics and soon after did a root canal due to the incorrectly fit appliance given by the VA. Not only did they get rid of the infection, they completed the partly done implant procedure that was started by the VA. I cant completely describe how much I appreciate their genuine kind, caring and courteous nature of both offices! They should be highly commended. Everything they did was greatly appreciated. An update to my last review. . . . the tooth that my husband had fixed has since turned black all around the gum line! He said it still gives him pain and it doesn't feel right. Now I'm going to have to try and convince him to go to another dentist to have it looked at. I have been going to Willow Tree Dental in Meridian for over 8 years. A question: Are all dentists and hygienists created equal? NO, they are not. I have found over 47 years of having dental work (in CA and ID) that dentists and hygienists are NOT equal. The reason I've stayed with Willow Tree in Meridian is that they are the best that it gets. Nobody LOVES going to the dentist. However, my routine hygiene (every 6 months) with Shari (who, by the way is AMAZING) is the best there is out there. She is thorough, efficient, gentle and caring. Obviously it works for me because I keep going back. I have chosen to stick with Dr. Dowdle permanently at the practice. For obvious reasons, I truly trust the man; he has never forced dental work upon me that I didn't need; he has now completed my first necessary crown (and going into it, I was nervous but he held my hand the whole way); he performed a necessary filling on both front teeth due to wearing away of tooth (and I could not have been happier with the results). Dr. Dowdle is what I would call the most amazing "old fashioned" dentist. He doesn't conform to the dentists out there who have read all of the books on "How to get rich as a dentist"; he doesn't send out those maddening fliers with all the pictures of good looking people with perfect teeth on them; he works in the real world, with his real world patients. He is always kind about patient finances and limitations; he never recommends unnecessary dental work, but factors in each patient's individual needs. I have never felt as if I was part of the "cattle drive" with him (where some dentists work on you and move on to the next patient without bed-side manner); he has always given me lots of time to ask questions, and has been kind about my feelings and respectful about my financial situation. I highly recommend him. I highly recommend Willow Tree Dental for children as well; my twin daughters started going there when they were about 3 years old; I mistakenly took them somewhere else thinking they needed a "children's dentist" (with the fancy kid's office); but, about a year later, my girls returned back to Willow Tree Dental and started with Dr. Dowdle a few years ago. Now at 11 years old, my kids refuse to go anywhere else but to Shari for cleanings and also refuse to see any other dentist. They also trust and love Dr. Dowdle. Any time you're in the office, you are treated as a special guest and patient; the front office staff is always welcoming, friendly and kind; the back office staff is great too. If I have billing issues, they are always kind and gentle, and work with my situation. I would recommend the practice and any of it's hygienists or dentists. read more

I needed a tooth to fill up called 2 other dental clinic Lowery Dental and Affordable dentire they quoted me $400 tooth fill up with x-ray and exam. Than I called Willow Tree Dental Meridian and Cherry Lane they said the X-ray and Exam is $1.00 and the fill up cost $180 so they had appointment available for the same day and I couldn't do because I had to go to work. They schedule me for the next day after that I read their reviews online I was a kind of didn't want to go their, but the next day I did go anyway. The customer service, nurse, and the doctor was friendly, new building, but the equipment are a kind of old. They tried to sell me a little more than I really went for, but that is the nature of being in business, but be smart. They don't charge too much which helps some people a lot, but a little disorganize and overall they are good I will go back their if I need to go back. read more

I stopped attending this dentist office as the staff was rude. My husband continued to attend for a couple more years (until 2009) until the treatment plan he started had ended. He made payments to them as he went through the plan. We thought we had paid them what we owed them by the end of the treatement. Then all the sudden four years later, I start getting contacted by Bonneville collections demanding money that I owe Willow Tree Dental from 2009. I am completely floored. We have never received any correspondence from then asking for payment, so we had no idea. Now we are receiving rude and insulting letters from a collection agency, when Willow Tree could have made their own attempt and I would have paid. I do not find them to be proffessional (from my experiences in their offices) and do not recommend them to anyone one looking for a kind and caring dentist office. For as much as you pay for Denistry, you should be able to expect to be treated with dignity and respect. read more

These are the rudest people I have ever had to deal with. The unprofessionalism is outstanding. They way I was treated was unacceptable. It seems like they are hurting for money, the place is run down, while doing the procedure, things were coming unplugged left and right and mistakes were being made. I originally wanted the tooth pulled because I couldnt afford a root canal, they kept insisting that I do a root canal and that it would be cheaper and when I asked for a quote they dodged the question constantly, they ended up charging me $1500 for a root canal with insurance and $500 for a crown, after I was told $900 and after going to a different dentist they told me it would be cheaper to have the tooth pulled!! Truly a terrible experience, after getting a root canal, my tooth was in excrutiating pain, i felt little "nicks" in my other teeth, I assume to break through the enamel so I can return to give them more money.I only make $13,000 a year and am in medical debt up to my eye balls, i missed 3 payments and they sued me and garnished my wages, can't afford my car payments or rent. These people are scum bags. I highly recommend seeking another dentistry. read more

The dentist was fabulous, However the staff who do the billing and insurance verification are lacking. They had previously verified correct insurance amounts/copay. For a costly procedure ($$$) they did not! I was left with a large bill to pay and only got a response of insurance denied it, and patient responsibility runaround. Was told it would be forwarded to a supervisor and never happened, I called multiple times and only got 1 return call in a year. I have been treated in this office before and had issues the last time I was seen. I called today because I needed to be seen as I am 38 week pregnant and I am in mass pain. I have been unable to sleep or eat anything for a couple days and unless I have money at the time of service they will not see me. I was told I could apply for a care credit card to pay for the office visit but they would not send me a bill. This was after informing me that I needed to be seen, because if I have an infection it can harm my baby. But yet they have no problem telling me they will not see me unless I have $65 to $185 dollars to tell me what is wrong. I will never return to Willow Tree Dental since they have no problem putting my child at risk. read more

I made an appointment with Dr. Hess as soon as I had moved to Boise because I had another dentist make a night guard for me in my previous city but I had moved before my fitting. I am very unhappy with the situation that happened at willow tree dental group. The reception was very unorganized and the billing department wouldn't return my calls for months. I was told by Dr. Hess as I was leaving my appointment that it would be a no charge visit because the night guard that was sent to them for my fitting was not mine so their was no work to be done. The appointment took less than ten minutes and I confirmed with reception upon leaving that I would not be billed for that day's office visit. One month later they sent me an invoice for an office visit. I called the billing department to explain the situation and they proceeded to inform me that Dr. Hess had decided after the visit that it should be billed and insurance would cover the cost. That was not my concern I do believe that they mischarged me for an exam that did not take place. Lena (the office manager) was the one who confirmed that I would not be charged the day of the appointment and went on the tell me (today) that Dr. Hess had changed her mind.
