Since…read moreit wasn't peak season and it was also mid-week we were able to get a spot overlooking the pond and use the Passport America discount. The grounds were maintained really well. There are a lot of seasonal campers here but they all seem to take care of their spots. Expect to see a lot of golf carts zipping around but everyone was friendly enough. Our site was flat with both a gravel area as well as a grassy area with a tree. Although they pack a lot of campers into this RV park the site felt pretty spacious (what a nice change). It was nice to sit outside, watch the ducks and geese and enjoy the fountain in the middle of the pond. One note, if you do have a site near the pond be watchful of the geese poop. It's plentiful because that's just how geese are and it's probably impossible for the campground to stay on top of cleaning it up. The check in process was quick and the girl who checked us in was friendly. They also gave us a zip up pouch with face masks, hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes. Quite a nice touch during COVID! It seemed like during off peak, non-COVID times there was a lot to do at this resort. We saw miniature golf and some bouncy thing for the kids to play on. We were there to rest and lay our heads down for the night on our way to our destination so the current lack of activity was perfect for us. Lake Erie is right across the street though so we took a little walk in a local park and it was lovely. We wish we could have stayed another night because it was so nice. Hopefully we'll get the chance to return in the future.

When families make plans to return year after year for a particular holiday or event, having the opportunity to reserve the same site is something we've come to expect and appreciate at other campgrounds. Unfortunately, that was not the case here, and our site was made available without us being given the opportunity to rebook it first. It was extremely disappointing and definitely something we will take into consideration when making future camping plans. A simple priority rebooking period for current guests would go a long way toward encouraging returning campers and creating a better overall experience.

It was tight for us to pull into and I had to move the neighbor's picnic bench to fit our MH into. Sites for motor homes are very close to each other. They say they have WiFi (which is important to me) but it is a $3.00 charge for 24 hours. Nice little lake and ponds to swim or fish in & a little sandy "beach" to sit on. The office store has some food, snacks & supplies for sale. We paid $30.00 per night with our Good Sam's discount (which is 10% off their rate) plus $3.00 charge to run our air conditioner and $3.00 for Wifi. I would have given this park 10 stars if the extras were not a $3.00 charge for each. Nice landscaping and they have a diner on the campground which has very limited hours.

Do you love hiking and bird watching? That is there too. Historic lighthouses? Historic markers? Great lookout points? Those are all there too. They even have boat rides. The beaches have a variety of facilities and have different types of beach experiences depending on where you are. It is worth a drive to feel like you are getting a beach getaway closer to home. One thing they could do a bit better with this festival is communicating when events are changed/postponed/cancelled. These cabins are in a…read moregreat spot, especially if you have kids who will be playing or jumping, this is a great location. The cabin was small but great for the 3 of us. It was relatively clean. Some hair and dust in the corners and some hair in the shower, but it wasn't bad. The bedding and towels were clean. Overall, we were very happy with the cabin and would definitely stay in the same cabin. We arrived one day after a really bad storm went through. The water and electric wasn't working in part of the campground, so we weren't able to use the pool which was a bummer. We weren't able told that the levels had to be checked after the loss of power and water, but when we left Thursday, it still was not open. Not their fault, but it was a bummer. We were hoping it would be checked quicker so we could at least try it out. There is a pond for fishing and we saw a lot of people catching. There also was a pond for swimming. The playground was nice and I appreciate that they put down rocks instead of mulch. For the littles, the rocks are just as much fun as the playground itself. We spent a ton of time at the playground. The air filled bouncing pad was nice also. At least once per day it deflated, but once notified they would send someone to reset it. My kiddo spent all his time there or at the playground. The gaga pit and the little dirt bike track have not been kept up with. We only saw kids once at the bike track. This is why I took away 2 stars. This was our first time at this campground and will be the last. There is so much potential but it seemed like nothing was really taken care of. There also was garbage all over that wasn't picked up the whole time we were there. On our second day, I was bored watching my kiddo jump so I went around that area and picked it all up myself. I understand it's hard to keep staff these days, but the garbages were getting changed every couple days so that person who drove/walked by the garbage on the ground could have easily done what I did. There were many things that just weren't fixed. There are only so many hours in a day and people can only do so much, but there were so many little things that could be done to make the campground cleaner and more inviting. Clean the bathrooms, clean the property, mow.. it all seemed so run down. There was nothing going on at the clubhouse and when asked about kids activities, we were told there weren't any. We have been to many "family" campgrounds and they usually always have activities. Even some state parks do. Again, probably a staffing issue, but we were disappointed. I may have missed it, but I don't think there was any food or even ice cream available which was a bummer. On our last evening, it was raining and my kiddo wanted s'mores. We were going to attempt to make a fire anyways, but our fire pit filled with water. There was no drainage. He then requested ice cream. It was our last night, so we walked up to the store to get him an ice cream from the freezer. They closed at 5. We had to drive 15 minutes for ice cream. I'd think the store would be open at least into the early evening in the summer time. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience and the cabin was nice. We enjoyed our time, but we won't be back.

The place was beautiful and I went to see my favorite band lotus, who were amazing to see live, but it was like the staff were on a mission to ruin everybody's fun. I witnessed staff on golf carts shutting down after parties, making people turn their music off who weren't even blasting it loud. I had my feet dipped in the water around 6:30 and was relaxing, not realizing a woman was screaming at me through a megaphone to get my feet out of the water or I would be kicked out. I asked what the hell the problem was and she said you can't be in the water past 7. it wasn't even 7 yet, it was broad daylight and only the bottom few inches of my legs were in the water. it was comical. people go to festivals to escape being told what to do. the whole reason people go is to have fun, and anything that even resembled that was immediately shut down by the staff. when I left the venue, as I was exiting I was going not even 10 mph and 3 woman at the front screamed at me to slow down, as if I was going 50 mph. I wasn't around the campsites or any people. just a terrible way to say goodbye. the people who run that place don't care about the people who are supporting and making those events possible. maybe they should care a little bit about their opinions. i am a very compassionate and understanding person who has volunteered at festivals and know why rules need to sometimes be put in place, but it really rubbed me the wrong way to drive across the country and pay a couple hundred to deal with that kind of disrespect

Had many water cases from Sam's Club (about 3 cases), a couple of different pop varieties from Sam's Club (4 cases of 12 packs), and a bunch of snacks? Same person left flags in the sand, Jordan. Not sure why, guy was by himself.
