I go here for the disk golf and the courses are great, mostly maintained but sometimes there aren't maps and the mud can get pretty bad but that's what happens when your in nature so it's really not that big of a deal. My wife and I also love coming here with food and eat by the lake. Apparently you can swim in the lake but I'm not sure if I'll do that. The lake freezes over during winter so you can ice fish for a little bit and it's really fun to just go in the ice when it's safe.

For a Labor Day weekend it felt good to be there. On this visit in particular I noticed that they had an area within the woods that had fun canoe swing for the kids. A great way to show little tikes to wear life jackets appropriately (they have some there) and get their sea legs or lake legs. You can swing is slightly and show them to balance. There are other t-pee type structures, wood small open cabins, balancing ropes and more. Also for those that are not fan of the woods they have a playground area in the open. All throughout the weekend they had activities. Butterfly hikes, snakes and classes about bats. They promised bat houses while supplies lasted, I was very curious so we did go and take that class. The gentleman was knowledgeable and very kind. What struck me as a home run is that they brought in a local celebrity blues singer. I find it wonderful that the state park thought of adults that go without children. It was nice to snuggle with hubby and listen to this talented man sing the blues. What's epic were the little kids dancing and into the music. I wish I could rate this park 4.5 to 4.9, the only thing that I do find inconvenient is how far you need to walk to dispose of garbage. Otherwise this is a park I will continue to visit.

Has anyone used the Beach Pavillion? Of so how was it? I can't seem to find a way to reserve online so I guess you have to call the park office during the week to find rates and reserve?

Visited this state park for the first time earlier this month and had a blast!…read more I parked at what I think is the main lot, up above the mill itself. I didn't take a tour of the mill (which the park volunteers and staff do offer throughout the day) but I did walk through it and read the information in it about the history of the mill. Definitely enjoyed exploring and learning. That said, I was really there for the trails, so I spent most of my day hiking. I took a loop trail down from the mill and back (with a detour up a short trail to some falls) and it was great! I love being outside and I love a good challenge; these trails were not paved or even at all and I had a great workout navigating them. During hydration breaks I'd find a nice rock to sit on by the water, which was wonderful. It was noisy as heck by the mill because of the families, but the further out I got the more peaceful it got. Definitely met my goal of unplugging for a day during my trek on the trails. I want to come back in the future and begin to try to walk the Slippery Gorge Trail, as it sounds like the gorge is another beautiful part of the park. But that is definitely a long term goal, because that trail is not a short one! I loved visiting this park and I'd be back for sure. To everyone else, PLEASE remember water and wear the proper footwear - while I enjoyed my walk in the park, these trails are definitely not a walk in the park!

Decided last minute to rent a cabin in April when the weather was nice! New owners were great!…read more Booked on the phone and paid in full with credit card at a very reasonable price! Met with owners upon check in and had a great conversation with them about the area, activities, etc and they personally escorted us to our cabin. Cabins are located right next to the bath house and fishing pond. Bath house was exceptionally clean and well cared for! 2 showers provided excellent water pressure as well has 3 bathroom stalls which were all immaculate. It was opening weekend so there weren't too many campers around us so that was a plus. The fire ring and picinic table were great! The cabin itself was very primitive but clean and had brand new mattresses. I recommend a camp roll for comfort. The AC worked perfectly as well! I would recommend bringing a small table for meal prep, etc. The downside is that it does not include a mini fridge so I had to cooler and ice our food for 3 days which was a minor inconvenience. Location is great and right in the middle of all the fishing and outdoor activities that we love in Linesville and Pymatuning! Their fishing pond is great too! I would HIGHLY recommend this campground to anyone! The owners are great and really care about their property and the people there! They definately made us feel welcome! We will definately return!

Beach review only,…read more We live about 15min from GOTL State Park. This is our go to beach a bunch of times during the summer. Its not very crowded and there are tons of things to do around the area after the beach. Lets start with cons: -Beach is rocky towards the water, sand is nicer the further back you sit. If youre looking for Fairport Harbor raked beach sand, this is not for you. -Water is rocky for about 20' or so out, then turns into sand. -Foot wash was not working, however it has worked in the past. -No showers, but do offer a changing area. -No breakwall, so occasional driftwood shows up, this could be a good thing or bad thing depending how you view it The Pros -Never crowded like the other beaches around -Water is cleaner than other beaches around -Bike and walkable, and a grassy area up top for family parties -Sand walkway to help the Dads wheeling a wagon full of kid toys, chairs, umbrelllas, while the wife holds her stanley cup in one hand and her beach tote in the other. -5min from GOTL -Everyone seems to follow the rules, never an issue there. Great spot with tons of stuff to do around the area. Its like a mini vacation!

The first night we stayed the people by us stayed up till 3 am blaring awful rap music (which I like but not for my 4year old) someone else had a fart noise on a speaker all night and didn't stop till 4 am. Not once did anyone from the camp come over to tell anyone to quit down. The people next to us weren't watching their kids and their kids ended up at our site playing which was fine, but no parents were watching their kids which is crazy in this day in age. The next day the same people were doing drugs in their car and everyone in their party was going in and out of the car. Kids all over who swear and have no adult supervision. It's extremely disgusting, annoying and just upsetting this place was like this. We were supposed to stay Sunday too but we left early bc it was so bad.

It is huge with so many…read moreactivities that you could literally spend your entire vacation here and never leave the grounds. I recently visited with my partner and our two kids. Let's just say, we aren't totally the dedicated campers where we need to pitch tents, bring all the accessories and sleep on the ground. That's why this place especially stood out as they had luxury cabins for rent. Or as my partner said, I'm good as long as I have air conditioning and running water! The cabin came with a screened-in porch, an outdoor fire pit for evening s'mores, a loft where the kids slept, a full living room and kitchen with refrigerator another room with bunkbeds, a bathroom and then the master bedroom at the back of the cabin complete with dressers to put away your clothes. I'm one of those people that always unpacks and must have things organized, so it was a lifesaver. You can rent golf carts, highly recommended as the grounds are spacious and some of the cabins are located far away from the activities. There are also communal laundry facilities, which were great to have since we had to use them day 1 of our trip! The common area offers free activities like playgrounds, mini golf, character meet n' greets and wagon rides along with firetruck rides. Other activities cost extra like ceramic making, tie die shirt making, glitter tattoos and several others. Some nights they offer free movie screenings and other programs. Overall, this was like camping without the pain! That's my kind of camping. Cabin rentals are a little pricey, but with all that space, it could accommodate a large family or even combine it with others to help split the cost. Finally, the biggest hit was the water park. This is a can't miss. We got a poolside cabana and spent most of our days here. The kids didn't want to leave!

It looks to be more for smaller kids rather than teens but nonetheless it's nice. All the staff were really nice. They took the kids for a ride on the fire truck which all thought that was cool. My complaint if you want to call it that is the price. It's a bit expensive. Camping is suppose to be a cheaper alternative to going to a hotel. Not the case here. Depending on what you get it could be just as much if not more than going to a hotel and I don't mean any hotel local to here. It's comparable (at least when we stayed) to hotels in Myrtle Beach. I won't say I would never go back but it would not be my first pick however if you want to stay local to this area and when I say this area I mean within an hour or two, this is not bad.
