There are a lot of seasonal campers here but they all seem to take care of their spots. Expect to see a lot of golf carts zipping around but everyone was friendly enough. Our site was flat with both a gravel area as well as a grassy area with a tree. Although they pack a lot of campers into this RV park the site felt pretty spacious (what a nice change). It was nice to sit outside, watch the ducks and geese and enjoy the fountain in the middle of the pond. One note, if you do have a site near the pond be watchful of the geese poop. It's plentiful because that's just how geese are and it's probably impossible for the campground to stay on top of cleaning it up. The check in process was quick and the girl who checked us in was friendly. They also gave us a zip up pouch with face masks, hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes. Quite a nice touch during COVID! It seemed like during off peak, non-COVID times there was a lot to do at this resort. We saw miniature golf and some bouncy thing for the kids to play on. We were there to rest and lay our heads down for the night on our way to our destination so the current lack of activity was perfect for us. Lake Erie is right across the street though so we took a little walk in a local park and it was lovely. We wish we could have stayed another night because it was so nice. Hopefully we'll get the chance to return in the future.

When families make plans to return year after year for a particular holiday or event, having the opportunity to reserve the same site is something we've come to expect and appreciate at other campgrounds. Unfortunately, that was not the case here, and our site was made available without us being given the opportunity to rebook it first. It was extremely disappointing and definitely something we will take into consideration when making future camping plans. A simple priority rebooking period for current guests would go a long way toward encouraging returning campers and creating a better overall experience.

The place was beautiful and I went to see my favorite band lotus, who were amazing to see live, but it was like the staff were on a mission to ruin everybody's fun. I witnessed staff on golf carts shutting down after parties, making people turn their music off who weren't even blasting it loud. I had my feet dipped in the water around 6:30 and was relaxing, not realizing a woman was screaming at me through a megaphone to get my feet out of the water or I would be kicked out. I asked what the hell the problem was and she said you can't be in the water past 7. it wasn't even 7 yet, it was broad daylight and only the bottom few inches of my legs were in the water. it was comical. people go to festivals to escape being told what to do. the whole reason people go is to have fun, and anything that even resembled that was immediately shut down by the staff. when I left the venue, as I was exiting I was going not even 10 mph and 3 woman at the front screamed at me to slow down, as if I was going 50 mph. I wasn't around the campsites or any people. just a terrible way to say goodbye. the people who run that place don't care about the people who are supporting and making those events possible. maybe they should care a little bit about their opinions. i am a very compassionate and understanding person who has volunteered at festivals and know why rules need to sometimes be put in place, but it really rubbed me the wrong way to drive across the country and pay a couple hundred to deal with that kind of disrespect

It's a pretty large campsite, much larger than other local campgrounds. There is plenty to do there for children and adults, alike. There are two separate swimming pools, a large one located near the Clubhouse and the other, which is a bit smaller but still large enough for several people, located near the front of the campsite. There is a small playground located near the Clubhouse, as well, with a few swing sets and slides for children to play on. Holiday also contains its own golf course and a small mini golf (putt-putt) course. I'm 24 and had fun playing putt-putt there. Gault lake is also located in the campground. I believe that paddle boats/small boats are allowed in the lake, and it is stocked with fish for fishing, but there is no swimming permitted. There are various events that Holiday Campgrounds holds for adults and kids. There are teen/adult dances held at the pavilion near the clubhouse, and there are usually some decent local bands and DJ's there on the weekend. They hold bingo once in a while, which I have never been to, but would enjoy going to in the near future. There are also movie showings, which are typically aimed towards children and are usually showings of older movies. There is also a nice camp store located on the premises. It's a pretty basic camp store that stocks several camp-friendly groceries, candy, coffee/slush drinks, personal care products, and a lot of alcohol. There are three eateries located on the campsite. The pizza joint is decent. I tried their pizza last night and, while it wasn't anything to brag about, it was decent enough. They do, however, have delicious garlic bread sticks that are to die for! Prices are decent too. Kellie's Kones is also located near the Clubhouse and while the flavors and options there are minimal, the ice cream tastes good and the prices are fair. I would not recommend eating at Sandy's concession stand, though. I made the mistake of ordering a salad and order of fried pickles there and was shocked to find out that the portions that I was given were ridiculous for the rather expensive price. The salad was priced similarly to that of a sit-down restaurant and it was pathetically small. I was given four small fried pickles, too, and paid a premium for them. I would never eat there again. Overall, this place is really nice. I give it 5 stars because of all of the entertainment that the place offers and the friendliness of the staff.

Super friendly and has never shown aggression in his life. Well all the sudden on our last visit it was decided he needed to be weighed. Well he came in at 45 or so pounds which is clearly over the parks 35 pound weight limit. This is outrageous as many small dogs can be aggressive. Aggression doesn't have a weight limit. According to these narrow minded owners, dogs at 35 pounds or under are safe and welcome. Get real. We will never camp here again. Even after our border collie eventually passes. Sad!!!!

I really would have liked to give them 3.5-3.75 stars, not quite 4. This is why: 1) Before we booked the site we looked at the picture. We also went on YouTube to look at the site as well. 2) We made sure that we looked to see if it would handle the size of RV (we have an RV on the smaller side. Under 30'. We thought we did our due diligence and was excited to have a great weekend. When we got there we could see that the site was smaller than we thought. We backed the RV up and the back was pretty much too close to the site behind us. The slope was absolutely horrible, we tried to level the RV and the back was as high as it could go, the front was practically in the floor and still pretty bad. We hitched up and said forget this! We went to the camp store to state we were leaving, but wanted a refund. The lady let my husband know that there were two sites open that we could check out. Thankfully the other site although not that great, was a lot better. We were happy to be across from the beautiful lake. It had rained days before and there was mud and mottes... lol. After that we decided to make the best of our stay. We actually like the section we were in. It was less packed. Of course there were times there was dogs barking a lot. I tuned them out, but my husband could not.. lol. We had nice walks, visited the Nature Center, bought little things at the camp store.

Whoever built the stalls did not leave room between the toilet and door for people who have knees. The toilets themselves are very low and if you have any knee trouble, you may not be able to get up. Speaking of getting up, you need to hold the stall door open with one hand and no place to grab on to with the other hand. In other words, if you have a rig with facilities, it is awesome. If you don't; be prepared to suffer each time you use the facilities. Make sure to bring your phone so you can call for help. This is new ownership and they are super nice.
