The word is that the people are nice but when I arrived a half an hour late, Cheryl answer the door and said I can't camp.

The road to get to the campground was winding and very dark but when we arrived we saw a beautiful campground with paved spots. There are no amenities with only a vault toilet and water pump. Still the sites were nice and large. You pass several shooting ranges on the way to the campground. There is also a trail that loops around the campground.

Here are trash bins, fire rings, and picnic tables at each site, plus a well-blazed trail edging the campground. There are pit toilets in the center of the ring that do smell like free campground pit toilets, but they are far enough from the campsites that you'll be okay even on a hot summer day, especially if you're a ping with a self-contained unit. Our site had a great mix of field and tree cover with raspberries or other bramble fruits lining the campground. Hummingbirds, cardinals, nuthatches, and a concert of fireflies were fun to watch. The free part is especially good since there are pigeon, rifle, and handgun target ranges outside the camp loop, and you do hear them even on a Monday. And first thing Tuesday morning. This is a dry campground in every way so bring your own water. If you aren't target practicing, use your red cup and don't act like a rookie. About half the sites were in use the Monday night we stayed. Despite the ballistic sounds, the camp loop was quiet, and we had a very restful stay.

If you are used to a quiet, serene camping experience to visit with family, or get away from the…read morenoise of daily life, this is not the camp for you. The highway noise from I-76 only a few feet away is deafening at all hours of the day. And while they do have lots of nice amenities like the swimming pond, they really lose their luster when you have to yell just to have a conversation with people in a small circle. Also they also will nickel and dime you like you wouldn't believe.... A small tent on a site with a camper is not allowed we had to pay $110 to get another site. A card key to leave during the day is a $10 deposit. They only have 220V hookups, but for $5 you can have an adapter to 110V. Swimming on the slide will be fun, after you rent a life jacket for $5. Staying until noon on checkout day is allowed for a small fee of $25. There's definitely a pattern of getting every cent out of you that they can rather than making an enjoyable experience. They also have a list of rules that is as long as it is ridiculous. And they seriously enforce them. Children under 21 must be accompanied after 10pm (good luck telling your 20 year old they can't go to the bathroom by themselves after dark!). You aren't allowed to bring an axe to split wood. Carpets aren't allowed on the sites to preserve the "grass". (The sites are all just crushed asphalt that is not level and easy to roll an ankle on, I didn't see much grass.) and finally the site is limited to 2 adults and 2 children. So if you have 3 kids, I guess you have to get another site. I still can't believe people pay money for staying here. I guess them being right next to the highway much more convenient for them to pull off highway robbery.

There has been 4 people that moved out of here from last year because of his arrogant ways. There is no activities for adults and nothing for kids to do either. He is the wrong person person to be operating this campsite.he is goin* to raise the prices next year which his prices are outrageous now and also the electric needs upgraded because there is to many campers there and you trip breakers in your camper on weekends because of the use of the high draw on the electric. When I got out to stretch my legs and check in, I was surprised to be asked for an early check-in fee of $35 (check-in is 3:00 there). I was annoyed by this but decided to pay and not stay at this park the next time. However, the representative charged me $45 instead of $35, which required a refund process involving the owner, Demi (Damaris Lusvarghi). She informed me that she would check things out while I set up my site and I could stop back to sign everything. Upon my return, she explained the status of my KOA rewards but remained firm on the early arrival fee, stating it was in their policy and was in their email confirmation - which I had not seen. I explained to her that I found it quite unreasonable, considering the site was empty and ready, with no inconvenience caused to the staff. However, Demi commented that "if she changed it for me, she'd have to change it for everyone", and when I mentioned that I would include this in my review, she accused me of "threatening her." She then stated, "You can pack up your things and leave and I'll refund all of it." She showed no concern when I mentioned I had no other place to go, insisting that I leave the property for "disrespecting" her. I apologized that she thought I was disrespecting her and told her that I just disagreed with their policy. As I was leaving, I asked her for her name. She refused to provide her name, stating, "My name is you don't need to know." We quickly arranged alternative plans and prepared to leave the campground. A man from KOA on a golf cart (who I later found out was Demi's husband and owner Fernando) stopped by and asked, "You are leaving, aren't you?" As an avid camper, we've stayed at 192 parks throughout the United States of which 44 have been KOAs. I've never been asked to leave or had such a terrible experience with the owner of a park. I would suggest staying at a truck stop over this park. We visited Lake Milton / Berlin Lake KOA Holiday, no overnight stay.
